R030430, Matsuya. I was working in Takatsuki and hadn't had lunch, so around 4 pm I went to Matsuya because I was too hungry. I had the eel and beef bowl with an egg, which cost a little over 1000 yen. The eel was maybe tastier than Sukiya's. Also, they had barbecue sauce that you could add to enhance the flavor, which was nice. Matsuya is pretty good. Thank you for the meal!

I decided to eat dinner in the Tomita area before taking a night bus from JR Kyoto Station to JR Kofu Station, where I needed to transfer from Hankyu to JR. I was surprised to find a restaurant open for 24 hours in the Tomita area. I don't remember exactly what I ordered, but the food was delicious. Thanks to that, I arrived safely at Kyoto Station.

It seems like this Matsuya location only offers small beer mugs, no medium size. I had the Spicy Pork Kalbi Set Meal with Potato Salad, along with a small beer mug. The prices were 630 yen and 150 yen, respectively.

I don't eat beef much these days, but I still enjoy beef bowls and pork bowls. I don't eat fast food often, but beef bowls are an exception. Among them, Matsuya is my favorite, so I'm happy that it opened in my area. I like the seasoning, but what I really love is the pork miso soup that comes with it. The portion is huge, and both beef bowls and pork bowls come with miso soup. If you want to have pork miso soup instead, you can purchase a voucher, which is a bit pricey. However, I always order the pork miso soup, especially in winter. It's great value for money and delicious, so I feel satisfied. While I enjoy dishes that stimulate the five senses, I also like simple dishes like this, as long as they don't use artificial seasoning.

Location Located on a street between Hankyu Tomita Station and JR Settsu Tomita Station, within a 1-minute walk from Hankyu Tomita. It's where McDonald's used to be! Food & Value As for the food, Matsuya is a familiar beef bowl chain that is on par with Yoshinoya and Sukiya. The taste is decently good, but in my opinion, it may be the lowest among the three chains. However, when it comes to cost performance, Matsuya is the best! No matter what you order, miso soup always comes with it. I usually order the beef bowl set with raw egg and raw vegetable salad for 390 yen. The taste may be average, but the value for money is great, so Matsuya is highly utilized in the Tomita area. Atmosphere The atmosphere is pretty normal, with a slightly wider space compared to other stores and an open feel. It tends to be lively with a high percentage of high school and college students. It may not be ideal for eating alone and leaving quickly. Service The service is just average, making it easy for anyone to use!

ICOCA can be used here. Since it's just a short walk from JR Settsu-Tonda Station, you can also do a quick charge at Settsu-Tonda Station. There is no parking lot, so you can't go by car. The drinks are also cheap, so I recommend it. The best part is that you can use ICOCA and the station is nearby, so you can do a quick charge right away, which is convenient. The downside is that you can't check your ICOCA balance at Matsuya, so you have to print it at Settsu-Tonda Station or Hankyu Tonda Station, which is inconvenient. The best thing about Matsuya is that you can choose from various sauces. It was very delicious.

The other day, I had some business near JR Kyoto Station. Since I live along the Hankyu line, I needed to transfer somewhere to JR. I found out that the closest stations between JR and Hankyu are at Hankyu Tomita Station, so I have been transferring there recently. Speaking of which, a colleague who commutes from Kobe transfers from JR Takatsuki to Hankyu. Takatsuki has the express train stopping there, and Hankyu has the limited express stopping there too. I wish the stations were a bit closer together. So, I transfer at Tomita. On this day, I finished early but missed lunch. To have a light meal before dinner, I went to "Matsuya." It was before 4 PM, so I had a light meal. I usually buy bento at "Matsuya," so it's been a while since I ate in the store. This restaurant serves regular beef bowls, not the premium ones.
