This is JR Hakata Station. It has changed a lot, hasn't it? And here is a souvenir, ramen. It's easy to make and tastes good. It comes with chashu pork. Hakata ramen is simple and delicious, but it may be a bit pricey at over 1000 yen. There are so many varieties, so it's best to do some research before purchasing! It feels refreshing to enjoy some Kyushu gourmet after a long time.

Hakata Meihinkura Hakata-guchi, a souvenir shop located at Hakata Station, specializes in products from Kyushu, particularly Fukuoka. They have a premium corner featuring specialty products from various regions in Kyushu. The store was established in July 2019. I happened to pass by and noticed a beautifully displayed showcase, similar to those found in department stores, so I decided to take a look. To my surprise, I found BM sweets that I had never tried before! I immediately purchased the Gâteau Pyrénées from Fat Ria Da Cojimo in Takamiya, Nishi-ku, and I was delighted. Other items in the lineup include items from Georges Marceau, Imuri, Salon de Ambre, Matsuya Riemon, Chikugo Kuni Okuyame Yamecha-no-Yado, Hangetsudo Juei, Umezukedo, and Umezukedo. It's convenient to be able to purchase items from renowned stores that are difficult to visit in person at the station. They have a select shop concept, which seems to be trending. The store is also part of the JR Kyupo app, where you can earn points and use coupons. Although the staff seemed a bit inexperienced and it took some time, it may be because not many people use the app. The app is great as it allows for point conversion with JR SUGOCA credit cards, and you can use points with major online retailers. I hope the app becomes more widely used. Some items are limited in quantity, and there may be regular changes in the selection. I look forward to visiting again. Hakata Meihinkura Hakata-guchi at JR Hakata Station is open from 7am to 11pm every day, with no dining area or parking available, but there are paid parking facilities nearby. Be sure to check the official website for more information.

I have been interested in strawberry sweets for a while, so I bought some as souvenirs (for home use) at this store. The items I purchased are Hakata Minorika (Milk Langue de Chat) and a vivid red strawberry mille-feuille. Hakata Minorika (Milk Langue de Chat) is a langue de chat with strawberry kneaded into it and filled with milk cream. The vivid red strawberry mille-feuille is a puff pastry filled with strawberry cream and sandwiched with white chocolate. Surprisingly, the strawberry flavor was quite prominent in this one. Thank you for the delicious treats.

This is a souvenir shop located in Fukuoka Prefecture, Hakata area. You can find this shop at JR Hakata Station, Hakata Exit Concourse. They offer a wide variety of traditional confectionery, mentaiko, ramen, sake, as well as specialty products and unique original items that you can't find elsewhere, stylish goods, and more. It's a souvenir select shop filled with the charm of Kyushu and Hakata rooted in the region. Popular tonkotsu ramen in Hakata comes in various variations such as Hakata, Kurume, and Nagahama, and there was also a ramen comparison set. The Hakata Daruma Ramen, priced at 1080 yen, is a famous ramen shop known for its long queues. It faithfully reproduces its unique soup made with care and effort! It's the ultimate bowl created by Hakata's strongest ramen artisan. The souvenir package includes three servings of thin noodles and liquid soup. The chashu and seasoned egg are handmade, and green onions are chopped, so you can try making it at home. The soup, made with an original soy sauce-based sauce without using chemical seasonings, is rich in flavor. The rich tonkotsu soup is made by simmering pork bones for a long time, and it's delicious.

I like "Menbei" as a souvenir from Hakata. It is a rice cracker with spicy cod roe, which has become a popular item found in souvenir shops everywhere. I purchased a pack of Menbei Plain (2 pieces x 16 bags) for 1000 yen. It has a crispy texture, a perfect level of spiciness, and a delicious umami flavor that intensifies as you chew. Once you start eating it, it's hard to stop because it's so addictive. It can be a bit dangerous! In addition to Plain, I also like the Mayonnaise flavor. The gentle sweetness of the onion flavor is also delicious.

There are several souvenir shops at Hakata Station, but the largest one is near the entrance from Hakata Port. I came here specifically because they sell popcorn from a cafe in a back alley in Nagasaki. The owner of the cafe, Rina Fujiwara, used to be the seventh navigator of the travel show "Ruriiro no Sunadokei" that aired on Sundays in Fukuoka. I recently heard the song "KISS OF LIFE" by SADE somewhere and it reminded me of the show. The popcorn flavors available in Hakata were salted caramel, mentaiko butter, and Yame matcha & Amaou strawberry, all priced at 324 yen each. I bought one of each and enjoyed them with my family. The most popular flavor was Amaou. The salted caramel was a classic taste. I didn't find the mentaiko butter too spicy at first, but after eating it, the spiciness lingered. The Nagasaki shop has other flavors available and you can also enjoy the cafe there, so I definitely want to visit during next year's Lantern Festival.

It's delicious when eaten cold. I didn't expect it to be a registered product. However, it's a bit expensive at 1080 yen, so in terms of cost performance, it's a little tough. But because my family enjoys it, I tend to buy it whenever I see it. ( ☆∀☆)

I decided to buy some sweets to take home, so I thought I would buy them at Iwataya here. They have a simple packaging with 5 pieces inside, making it an easy-to-buy classic souvenir. On the other hand, the boxed version has more pieces but is set at a higher price. The white bean paste with a milky flavor is rich and creamy, but the size is a bit small once you open the package, which is a bit disappointing. However, the sweetness is just right and goes well with the outer layer. Thank you for the meal! Thank you for visiting and reading.

Fukuoka's time is coming to an end. I stopped by the station to buy souvenirs. There are many souvenirs in Fukuoka, but I had already decided what to buy before coming. It may be common, but I chose Hakata Torimon. It's not influenced by personal preferences and is easy to share with many people. I bought a box of 16 pieces for the company (1,960 yen) and a box of 5 pieces for myself (560 yen). It's strange pricing where buying more is more expensive. If you're not giving it as a gift in a box, you'll realize later that it's a better deal to buy the 5-piece box and share it. The white bean paste inside is very soft and melts in your mouth. It has a flavor similar to Western sweets, making it addictive and easy to overeat. It's no wonder it's popular as a souvenir.

I am planning to visit Tokyo soon, so during my lunch break, I headed to the Meigetsudo Hakata Station Minami Shop inside Hakata Station, where I usually buy the popular Hakata souvenir "Hakata Torimon". However, to my surprise, the Minami Shop was closed for renovations until mid-October. Feeling a bit lost, I looked around and found a store right across from the Drug Eleven, just around the corner from the Hakata Exit concourse. This store turned out to be a sister store of Oita Meihin Kura and Beppu Meihin Kura, which I had visited during my business trips to Oita. It is operated by JR Kyushu Group. According to their website, it just opened on May 27th this year. The store offers various Fukuoka specialties such as Hakata Torimon, Hiyoko, Chikushi Mochi, Menbei, and Hakata no Onna, as well as Karashi Mentaiko. It is a very convenient location for tourists to stop by and buy souvenirs before leaving Hakata Station. The store was bustling with customers buying a large number of souvenirs at the checkout counter. It seems even Japanese people go on a shopping spree in Hakata! I purchased two packs of Hakata Torimon (5 pieces each) for a total of 1,000 yen. Despite my relatively small purchase, the staff treated me with the same level of care and attention. The location is convenient, but the downside is that they do not accept specific store loyalty cards such as Meigetsudo, Yoshinodo Honpo, Ishimura Manjudo, or Sakaeya. Unfortunately, I missed out on earning points this time.

I received a souvenir from Fukuoka called "Yumeyumedori" which is chilled deep-fried chicken wings. It is recommended not to reheat them as stated on the box. I tried it for the first time and found the spicy flavor to be really good. Even though my fingers got sticky, I couldn't stop eating. It goes really well with beer, making it hard to put the glass down. Personally, I have some doubts about the common belief that "soft = delicious", so I was happy to enjoy this food that has a chewy texture but offers a satisfying taste. I was also surprised to learn that "Yumeyumedori" is a registered trademark with a patented manufacturing method and is offered as a local tax return gift in Fukuoka City.

After buying Hakata street monaka and menbei [spicy], I saw something called "zabieru" and was like ??? (。´・ω・)? What is it, a souvenir? Xavier? ... I didn't really understand what zabieru was, so I circled the shop three times. Haha, turns out it's a type of snack, but I still don't really get it. I also felt like eating chicken egg noodles, so I bought that too. When I got home and talked excitedly about zabieru, my wife said she had been eating it since she was a child, which left me feeling a bit down. I guess I'm not very familiar with the specialties and customs of the western regions. Zabieru feels heavy when you hold it. Eating it feels like something you've had before, but also like something new... it's a strange feeling, similar to when I tried sweet potatoes for the first time (*''▽'').

The uirou made by the female owner of Chikuzenbori is very delicious. I purchased it when I visited the shop. It was said to be on sale at the Hakata Meihinkura Hakata-guchi store near my house from 12/26, so I bought it right away. I think it would make a good souvenir to bring.

This fu rusk... was included as a welcome snack at the hotel we stayed at this time. My companion quietly ate them all as a snack with wine σ(^_^;) They didn't give me a single one!! When I was looking for souvenirs at the station, I found them... so they bought them for me (*'▽'*)♡ They had a gentle taste... a light and easy-to-melt rusk. Thank you for the meal (๑>◡<๑)

On the 6th and final day of my summer vacation trip in Kyushu, I made a little detour to Nogata from Hakata without taking the shinkansen. While waiting for the train, I browsed for souvenirs at Hakata Meibutsu Kuraz, and I found some Pepetama flavored rice crackers by Larukii. I couldn't resist buying this kind of unique snack. The crispy rice crackers have a garlic taste with a Pepetama flavor. They have a light and fluffy texture, so even though you might feel like eating another bag after finishing one, be careful not to overindulge!

The company's older sister went on a trip to Fukuoka. Oh, I wish I could go too! Occasionally, she sends photos of Fukuoka's specialties on LINE. "Just looking at Fukuoka makes me happy." She seems to be enjoying her girls' trip, eating not too much but enjoying cafe lunches, motsunabe, tonkotsu ramen, and mainly sightseeing. "I bought souvenirs in Fukuoka on the way back, so look forward to it," she reported. And wow, she brought back so many souvenirs! Thank you so much! Kyushu ramen 7 noodles, local Jagariko snacks, Pringles, and Fukuoka's horumon steak sauce, a variety of souvenirs. The snacks were delicious and we enjoyed them. Thank you for the feast! *Note... The ramen noodles were delicious. I tried Hakata tonkotsu ramen and Miyazaki spicy noodles, the little one had Kagoshima and Kumamoto, the older brother had Nagasaki and Saga, leaving Oita for last (lol)【Food log】☆3.14

Before returning to my hometown, I stopped by the store to buy the "Norikuro" that I was asked for. While walking around the store, I came across a specialty snack from Kagoshima called "Ramudora," so I bought it for a snack on the Shinkansen. The Norikuro is a kind of seaweed furikake made by the company famous for "Yuzu Sco," priced at 540 yen each. It has a delicious flavor with a kick of yuzu pepper that lingers. It comes in a convenient mini size tube and is often requested by others. The Ramudora is a famous confection from Kagoshima's Umetsudo, priced at 324 yen. It's a sophisticated treat that often appears in online gift rankings. As someone who loves liqueur-soaked treats like Kumamoto's liqueur chestnuts, this is one of my favorites. It's filled with Myers's rum-soaked raisins on top of sweet bean paste, with an alcohol content of 1%, so it may not be suitable for children. It goes well with coffee. I tend to buy souvenirs from department stores, but this store had a variety of limited edition items. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the delicious treats!

The station is conveniently connected. You can purchase most souvenirs here. For snacks, I had Hakata condensed milk madeleine with coffee. It is a madeleine that uses Kyushu-produced condensed milk, eggs, and flour, with a focus on ingredients. The sweet and gentle aroma of condensed milk spreads throughout the mouth, perfect with coffee. It's a souvenir from Hakata. Hakata is famous for mentaiko (spicy cod roe), but "Kanefuku," "Fukuya," "Yamaya"... they have stores in Tokyo too, so you can easily buy them anywhere. When I searched for something that can only be bought locally, I found Patisserie Ichiryu's Hakata condensed milk madeleine. I proudly bought it thinking "It's only sold here!" but later found out that it was being sold in plenty at the service area on the way back... In September 2020, I received a souvenir from a friend who visited Hakata. It was a pack of two servings of Ichiran Ramen for 900 yen. Hakata ramen is commonly associated with chains like Ichiran and Ippudo which are well-known nationwide. It had been a while since I last had Hakata ramen, so I was really happy to receive this gift. I enjoyed it at home right away. Personally, when it comes to Hakata ramen, I prefer my noodles to be very soft with a rich sauce. Although I couldn't request it in Hakata, I cooked it a bit richer at home. Despite not reaching the same level as the one served in the restaurant, the Ichiran ramen was still delicious with tasty noodles and soup. Thank you for the treat.

This is a motsunabe set from Motsu Nabe Ichifujisan. You simmer vegetables and soup. Once the vegetables are tender, add dashi, garlic chives, motsu, garlic, and shichimi to finish. It's surprisingly easy and delicious (the motsu isn't greasy at all). I would love to try it at the restaurant as well.
