Located in Daimaru Umeda Store in Osaka, on the 14th floor restaurant floor. I arrived alone around 13:30 on a weekday and was immediately seated at a table for two. There is a threshold between tables, so I didn't feel bothered by the neighboring seats. The menu mainly focuses on beef tongue dishes, with set options available as well. You can have unlimited refills of barley rice. The tea is self-service, with a pot placed on the table. I ordered the Hamburger and Beef Tongue Set for ¥1750, as I also like hamburgers. It arrived after a while, and I later realized that you should be able to choose between grated ponzu sauce or demi-glace sauce. However, I was not asked, and it came with grated ponzu sauce. The grated daikon in the ponzu sauce was quite firm, making it difficult to put on the hamburger. The hamburger had a strong beef flavor. The beef tongue was noticeably thinner than in the photos, and there was quite a small portion. It was delicious, but for the price, I expected a thicker cut. The grated yam topping was also on the smaller side. The vegetables were scattered and didn't look very appealing. Overall, I felt a bit disappointed considering I was dining at Daimaru. I had a preconceived notion that beef tongue set meals always come with barley rice and grated yam, which I actually don't like, so I had been avoiding them. But here they serve white rice, so I felt relieved and enjoyed my meal. My sister, who loves barley rice, was able to choose that option. They also had grated yam available. The lunch menu here is quite a good deal, so I plan to come back for lunch next time.

I had the service set meal for 1,100 yen. It's quite a good deal because it's hard to find tongue dishes at this price elsewhere. The soup was delicious too. I also had extra rice with barley. It was very filling. You can also get free refills on the rice.

I ordered the Sendai-style premium thick-cut beef tongue set meal (1.5 servings) for 2,900 yen (tax included). It was served in about 7 minutes. I wish I had ordered something else (regret). It came with oxtail soup. I anticipated it, but the thick cuts had tough parts that were difficult to chew. About 1/3 of it was too tough to bite through, which was disappointing (I won't be coming back). Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by on my way back from Umeda. Even though it's a weekday lunch special, it's hard to find a place where you can eat this much for under 1000 yen in a department store. There were a lot of people in suits, maybe because it was a weekday afternoon. The set included barley rice, oxtail soup, grated yam, beef tongue, and black wagyu hamburger steak, and it seems like you can get unlimited refills of the barley rice. Both the beef tongue and hamburger steak were delicious. I recommend it for a weekday lunch.

I wanted to get 2 hours of free parking at Daimaru, so we had lunch at the Daimaru restaurant on the 14th floor instead of going up to the 16th floor. The ladies set with salad was good, so my husband, son, and I ordered that. Our 3-year-old daughter insisted on getting the kids' hamburger lunch even though she doesn't eat hamburgers. They didn't provide a child's chair, so we had to ask for one and they reluctantly brought it over. There was a bottle of alcohol disinfectant placed right behind the chair my husband was sitting on, and people kept spraying it right behind us. It felt a bit uncomfortable to have that happening in a place where some people come to shop for expensive items. We noticed several instances of unfriendly service. The food was okay. The beef tongue was tender but had a slight odor. It was good that there wasn't any spicy side dish. The kids' hamburger was of low quality and our child didn't eat it. Thank you for the meal.
