On a holiday afternoon visit, I had a traditional European-style (?) curry. It's not like the recent spiced curry. I ordered pork cutlet curry and hashed beef rice. They were served quickly with efficient work. The pork cutlet was a bit thin, probably to cook quickly. The taste, including San Marco, is something I crave occasionally.

I wanted to eat the delicious pickled onions here, so I went to Piccolo for my last business lunch of the year. The pork cutlet curry with standard sauce was satisfying and had a good cost-performance ratio at 840 yen including tax. The large and delicious pickled onions went well with the cutlet, so I ended up having 6 of them. Thank you for the delicious meal. I will visit again next year. ^ ^

I revisited Piccolo to find out what the "Standard" curry sauce (roux) tastes like, as the staff had mentioned last time that it is completely different from the "Special." I ordered the classic Pork Cutlet Curry, which was visually appealing with the contrast of white plate, brown curry, and light brown cutlet. The curry was well-cooked with a rich flavor, although slightly mild and less spicy. The cutlet was nicely fried and cut into bite-sized pieces, making it easy to eat with a spoon. The pickled radish was also delicious. Overall, I found that the Standard roux paired well with the cutlet, providing a different but satisfying taste compared to the Special Beef Curry. It was a hearty and tasty meal with good value for money.

I didn't notice this before. I never expected to find that Piccolo is located in a corner of the food market on the basement floor, serving traditional curry that brings back nostalgic memories. I am aware of the restaurant area on the 7th floor of the department store, but the overall prices are high, so I rarely go there for lunch. However, finding a small restaurant with a few counter seats on B1 was a pleasant surprise. Of course, I ordered the famous "Special Beef Curry" with a recipe that has remained unchanged for nearly half a century, priced at 1,100 yen. The dish looked exactly the same as the one at the Umeda main store, where I haven't been for over 15 years. The curry was rich in flavor, fruity, with a deep complexity, and the beef was tender and satisfying. The pickled radish and pickles in the glass jar were complimentary and delicious. I also ordered a hot coffee, which had a deep flavor, low acidity, and bitterness, and a mild aroma, just like the curry. It was a very enjoyable meal. I was told that the curry at Piccolo uses a different roux from the Special Beef Curry, so I am curious to try it next time. I will definitely visit again.

There's Piccolo in Keihan Department Store!! Keihan Department Store in Moriguchi. If you shop regardless of the price, parking is free for about 3 hours. I parked my car in the parking lot, and unexpectedly ran into a senior I don't particularly like... To the B1 floor... B1 is the food section, but at the back, there is an area where you can eat in, with places like 551, Piccolo, Aska Takoyaki, mixed juice, etc. Today is curry time~♪ Piccolo~♪ The actual name of the store is Gourmet Curry Piccolo Keihan Moriguchi Store. Anything is fine though~♪ Katsu Curry for 841 yen (tax included). It's been so long since I had curry at Piccolo~♪ The meat in the curry was tender, and the curry was rich and flavorful. How is it? Even though it's not spicy, it's not sweet, just a delicious curry that even kids can enjoy. It seems like a curry that you could make yourself. The katsu was thin but crispy. My daughter said, "It's so delicious~♪" and happily ate it!! If the kids are happy, then it's all good!! Recommended for those who like non-spicy curry or for families with kids!! Since I was short on time, I looked for a restaurant on the B1 food floor instead of the upper restaurant floor. I couldn't decide between the seafood yakisoba at 551 or the takoyaki at Aska, but the smell of curry lured me to this place. I ordered the "Aimori Curry," not quite sure what "Aimori" meant, but the menu name intrigued me. Essentially, it was a combination of special curry and standard curry, topped with an egg. The special curry was delicious - the roux was simmered well, the beef was tender, and the spiciness was just right. It was spicy, but I would recommend it even to those who are not fond of spicy food. The creamy egg complemented the curry perfectly. After trying the special curry, the standard curry felt a bit lacking. I should have just ordered the special curry. This was my first time at Pikoro, but I would definitely revisit when I crave curry.

Pikkoro is a curry specialty restaurant located in the food section of Keihan Department Store, just a 1-minute walk from Keihan Moriguchi Station. I chose the regular beef curry in medium size and it was delicious. The blend of vegetable sweetness and spice heat was just right, and the meat chunks were plentiful. The rice was cooked to the perfect firmness, and I also liked the spoon shape which made it easy to eat. Overall, it was a satisfying meal and I look forward to trying their special beef curry next time.

You can also eat at the Umeda branch of the famous Piccolo curry restaurant, but this time, I decided to get takeout! I bought the Special Beef Curry, Katsu Curry, Karaage, Omurice (M size), and Omurice (S size)! The staff told me to remove the lid and cover with plastic wrap when reheating in the microwave. The Special Beef Curry was delicious, with chunks of beef in well-cooked curry sauce. The Katsu Curry had a typical frozen taste for the katsu, but the curry sauce was different from the Special Beef Curry. The Omurice had a gentle ketchup flavor, reminiscent of a Western-style restaurant. Overall, the Special Beef Curry at Piccolo is the best. Thank you for the meal!

It was lunchtime, so I suggested to my companion that we should try the delicious curry at "Upepo", but my companion insisted on having the curry at "Piccolo". Since I had never tried the curry at "Piccolo" before, I decided to follow my Osaka companion and head to Keihan Department Store. We took the escalator to the 7th floor where the food court was located, and as soon as we arrived, the enticing aroma of curry filled the air. What caught my eye was the poster advertising Hiroshima oyster fry curry. Despite having had many opportunities to eat oysters in Hiroshima due to recent work trips, I found myself ordering the Hiroshima oyster fry curry. After a short wait, the dish arrived. The curry was rich in flavor, with a Japanese touch that I found delicious. The oyster fry was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. However, I felt that the bitterness of the oyster fry did not quite complement the curry. The pickles served were fukujinzuke and rakkyo, but I wonder if the pickled cabbage is only available at the Umeda store, or if it varies by menu. Next time, I think I'll try the beef curry at the Umeda store.
