Today, I came here to "Otokoyama Station" right in front of the rotary where a flour-based snack shop opened recently. There are a few of these shops in Osaka as well. I had no idea about this place until a customer who commutes by train told me about it. I think it used to be a melon bread specialty shop called "COTTON MELON". The interior has the kitchen on the left side and about three counter seats on the right side. It is run by three young men and women. For takeout, they offer items like takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and yakisoba. For dining in, they have a full range of alcohol options and a variety of dishes (ranging from 198 yen to 398 yen, excluding tax) to go with them. After work, I ordered takoyaki (half sauce, half soy sauce, 10 pieces) and okonomiyaki (mixed ball) for my family's dinner and my sake accompaniment. I quickly received the already warm items and took them home. The takoyaki was slightly larger than standard size. The dough was light and fluffy with a rich and sweet sauce, and the octopus inside was large with a good bounce and chewiness. The soy sauce version had a more subtle flavor compared to the sauce. The okonomiyaki was a small size, about 15 centimeters in diameter. The finely chopped cabbage and the sticky texture with yam inside, along with pork and squid, made for a mix of flavors. A new challenger has emerged following the defeat and retreat of the reigning champion "Sandaimetakuchan" after "Takoyaki" - I look forward to what comes next. Good customer service.
