栗橋
This is a shabu-shabu restaurant. I visited for lunch. The seating is only at the counter, with a pot provided at each seat. It's a one-person pot. The lunch menu consists of set meals only. You can choose from various types of meat such as pork belly, pork loin, Shirakawa pork, Australian beef, domestic beef, etc. You can also choose the amount of meat, starting from one serving up to 2 times the regular amount, and you can add more meat in increments of half a serving. It's convenient to adjust the amount according to how much you want to eat. In addition to meat, the meal includes rice, pickles, vegetables, tofu, and Chinese noodles. The vegetables, such as Chinese cabbage, radish, carrot, enoki mushrooms, provide a satisfying crunch. You can choose between sesame sauce or ponzu sauce. They will add more sauce as you eat, but it's a bit strange that choosing both sesame and ponzu incurs an additional charge. The sesame sauce is tasty, but it might become a bit overpowering towards the end. It might have been better to leave it a bit diluted without adding more. Condiments like garlic, shichimi pepper, and green onions are provided. You can't choose the soup base. The staff regularly check on the customers, adjusting the heat, adding sauce, and offering rice refills as needed. The prices are reasonable, and after eating until full and drinking two bottles of beer for two people, the total was 4,400 yen.
