I woke up at my usual time despite drinking too much alcohol yesterday. I'm tired and feeling rough, but my eyes just open by themselves in the morning. I have some time before breakfast, but not enough time to go to the bath. So, I check out some food reviews on the internet to pass the time. My roommate is still fast asleep, showing no signs of waking up. I decide to go to the breakfast venue alone. It's a buffet style, but the space is not very large. Since the hotel is small and not many guests are staying, it's probably like this. However, the food was surprisingly good! The rice was delicious, and the grilled salmon and mackerel were cooked perfectly and very tasty. The taste of the simmered beef tendons was exceptional! I used to skip breakfast, but this meal was so good that I ended up having seconds of rice. I was completely full, so I cracked open a can of beer in my room and relaxed. Then I went to the morning bath. To my surprise, I had the whole bath to myself! It's rare to have such a leisurely time at a hot spring. Despite being an old hotel, the relaxed atmosphere it offers is quite nice. I would definitely want to visit again! It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

Shaken by the first visit bus, we headed to Lake Toya drinking beer! Whether it was the bus or the alcohol that made us dizzy... there was a bit of that feeling, but we arrived safely. This time we used the hotel's shuttle bus, which is quite rare and valuable these days. The North Sea Hotel Toya Lake Onsen is a long-established hotel located at the edge of the hot spring area. The building itself has a lot of history. The rooms are also quite retro in style. However, the unit baths in the rooms have been renovated. We relaxed in the room for a bit and then headed to the large communal bath. Let's have a little alcohol before the banquet starts haha. The bath itself wasn't very large, with two tubs - an indoor one and an outdoor one. There were also washing areas and a sauna. The facilities were quite old, but the water was nice and warm with a smooth texture typical of Lake Toya. After relaxing in the bath and sobering up a bit, the banquet began! The banquet dishes were lined up for each person. Of course, there was draft beer, but the main focus of the banquet was pouring and being poured... so bottled beer it is! Cheers! We enjoyed the dishes while slowly drinking. The food was standard overall, with sashimi being decent and all the dishes we tried being above average. Nothing particularly special, but no complaints either. Most importantly, the alcohol kept flowing, so we were satisfied haha. We switched to hot sake at some point, which ended up hitting us pretty hard (;^ω^) It was a fulfilling banquet! Afterwards, we turned two rooms into a secondary venue and continued drinking. But I decided to go to the public bath! It may not be good for the body, but it feels great to soak in the hot spring when you're drunk~ I rejoined the secondary party after putting a bit of strain on my heart in the bath. However, I was still quite drunk from the beer and sake, and ended up passing out before it became morning (^^;) Well, I had a good time, so it's all good. This was the dinner situation. The impression was not bad at all. Looking forward to breakfast tomorrow. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal♪

The breakfast menu was quite ordinary, with potato salad and sausages. Okra and cabbage were also included. There was a sunny-side-up egg, sautéed spinach and bacon. The rice was plentiful and the salted cod roe was delicious, making the meal satisfying. The side dish of fried chicken was also tasty, despite being a pre-made dish.笑

Two years ago around this time, I went to Lake Toya. I stayed at the Toya Lake Onsen located by the lakeside. I stayed at the traditional Japanese inn, Hokkai Hotel, located a little away from the hot spring town by the lakeside. The breakfast venue was the same as the dinner venue. The dishes were lined up in a row. Salad ingredients and yogurt. Vegetable dishes. Locally produced pumpkin Vienna sausages, fried eggs. Grilled salmon with roasted seaweed, natto. Uni shiitake mushrooms, hotel's special sanmazuke (pickled vegetables), salted squid. Hokkaido milk, oh, and even homemade tomato juice from the Hokkai Hotel farm! ◆ Breakfast - Tonchan's Choice Homemade tomato juice. The juice made from ripe tomatoes is sweet. I also had Hokkaido milk. Hokkaido milk is rich. I started with a sip of miso soup. I'll start with the salad. Tomatoes and cherry tomatoes. These are also produced in the hotel farm. Good morning natto. Natto on rice! Stir-fried vegetables with pickled plum. Various vegetable dishes are available. Butterbur. It's Hokkaido butterbur. Butterbur sold in Honshu is "Aichi early butterbur" or "Mizu butterbur (Kyoto butterbur)". But Hokkaido butterbur is a type called "Akita butterbur", which is thick and has large holes. Crispy kinpira. Is this yacon? For some reason, crab sticks! Crab sticks are delicious, right? Fried eggs, Vienna sausages, squid rings. What is this fried food? Pon de keijo, in Japanese it's cheese bread. Fried eggs on rice! The yolk is slightly runny. I like this. A little bit of the hotel's homemade sanmazuke. It's a regional dish from Tohoku and Hokkaido, made by pickling green chili peppers, koji, and soy sauce in equal parts. It's spicy and goes well with rice or sake. This salted squid is also delicious. Makes me want some sake. For dessert, yogurt. Finally, I had coffee. It's nice to have many vegetable dishes. And they are made with homemade vegetables, which makes them delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Around this time two years ago, I visited Lake Toya. I stayed at the Toya Lake Onsen located on the lakeshore. I chose this place because they have natural hot springs, serve dishes mainly made with Lake Toya and Funka Bay seafood, and the hotel owns fishing rights on Lake Toya. The price was also reasonable. This article is about the dinner I had there. The dinner was a simple type of meal. It started with three appetizers - cucumber salad, grilled eggplant, and fried eggplant and stuffed bell pepper. There was also marinated wakasagi (smelt fish) from Lake Toya, sashimi including Hokkaido sweet shrimp, tuna, squid, and yamame (landlocked cherry salmon). There was also shabu-shabu with lamb meat instead of beef or pork. I also had a local sake called "Toya Monogatari" from the Kinshizuku Shuzo brewery in New Teshikaga Town. The sake was made from 100% Toya-grown rice. I also had a one-cup sake from Takara Shuzo. Overall, the meal was not extravagant but the dishes were delicious.

This is a medium-sized hot spring hotel located in a hot spring resort that is known for its efforts to attract tourists through events like long-lasting fireworks and winter illuminations. The hotel has a historic feel overall, with renovated unit baths in the guest rooms. I booked a breakfast-only plan through an online reservation site for the first time, and upon arrival, the staff kindly helped me with my luggage and guided me through the hotel. Since it was the off-season for tourism, the hotel was quiet and I was able to relax, even in the spacious communal bath. I brought my own food for dinner and had a homey meal while watching TV in my room. The breakfast was served buffet-style in the restaurant on the first floor, and although the variety was decent, there were some rules to follow when serving yourself. The staff were friendly and even mentioned the snowfall that day. Overall, it was a pleasant stay at this hot spring hotel.

[Today's Dinner Menu] - Vinegar miso dressed dish - Sashimi - Tempura (with matcha salt) - Grilled fish - Chawanmushi - Shabu-shabu (with sesame sauce) - Scallop gratin-style baked dish Everything was delicious and I finished it in no time. The tempura was unfortunately cold, but still tasty. They must be using good tempura oil. The ingredients themselves were delicious. The salt with a hint of matcha flavor was a first for me, but it was delicious. Personally, I like fried foods even when they get cold and soggy (laughs). The draft beer was served in a frozen glass, perfectly chilled! Maybe because of the season, there were fireworks going off. The hot spring water was a brownish color, typical of the Toyako Onsen water quality. I prefer lukewarm water, so I was able to relax comfortably in it. The outdoor bath was particularly lukewarm on this cold day (I was told at the front desk). One very disappointing thing was that the futon was small. In terms of size, it seems to be just about right for someone 170cm tall. My feet completely stuck out. Both the mattress and the blanket were small. I didn't mind because I was drunk, but if I wasn't, or if it was winter, it would be a problem. A big minus point!

I have been to this restaurant multiple times for organizing my computer and digital camera. I can't remember the last time I stayed here. I usually stay in June or December when I feel like having chips. It is said to be the only hotel with fishing rights on the lake. The front desk man remembers my name and face, and he even changed my room service to in-room dining over the phone. He also told me when the chips would be delicious. However, I haven't been able to visit as often since he retired quietly without saying goodbye. By the way, the landlady never remembers me. The dinner is luxurious and very satisfying, but the breakfast is simple.
