Mitsumaru-san, who was known for having one of the best cost performances in this area, unfortunately no longer offers their famous Senbero set. Now you have to start with individual dishes. It feels a bit lonely without the set. The dishes here are very generous in portion size, so when dining alone, you can only order about two dishes (because you get full). So, I decided to go with the classic sirloin steak and onigiri for a complete dinner. I also had two beers to go along with it, and that wrapped up my day.

Even after we sat down, more and more customers kept coming in, and some had to be turned away. I'm glad we made a reservation. The menu is extensive with sushi, kushikatsu, sashimi, and more. There are plenty of drink options too. The food was quite good. The atmosphere is lively, so it's not the best place for a quiet drink, but perfect for a fun time with friends. I found this restaurant in one corner of the shopping street. Since I had some time before dinner, I decided to have a quick drink. As I entered the restaurant, it was early evening but already filled with salarymen and others. I was seated at a table in the back. I ordered a cold beer, kushikatsu, and hiyayakko. I enjoyed the chilled beer while eating the hiyayakko from the speedy menu. It was quite large and generously topped with bonito flakes and chopped green onions, which made me happy. Then came the kushikatsu. It was crispy and had a taste typical of Osaka. It was a bit disappointing that they didn't have the double-dipping sauce policy, but the kushikatsu was delicious. The cabbage appetizer was also generous, which was another pleasant surprise. The prices were reasonable, so I plan to come back and enjoy a leisurely drink next time.

I decided to have a drink after eating ramen in the Tenma area. After walking through the Tenjinbashi-suji shopping street, I found a nice little pub called "Manmaru" in the chain of Ten-san, where a large bottle of beer costs 390 yen (excluding tax). It was around 1 pm when I entered the pub. The friendly middle-aged lady staff guided me to a table, which was separated by a vinyl sheet, creating a private space. I ordered my usual "bottle of beer (large)/429 yen" and it was served promptly. The beer was a Super Dry with a Tokyo 2020 label. The atmosphere in the pub was quiet and pleasant, with nostalgic J-POP playing in the background. I also ordered some snacks like edamame, crab miso soup, and chicken karaage to go with my drinks. After finishing my beer, I decided to order a "Mega Highball" and some kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) including mozzarella cheese, rice cake, sweet potato, pickled ginger, garlic, and chicken cartilage. The Mega Highball turned out to have more ice than expected, but the sweet potato kushikatsu was delicious. However, I realized that I should eat the kushikatsu quickly before they get cold. It had been about three months since I last had a solo drink in the Tenma area. I really like this neighborhood and wish I could live here!

This shop is well-known for its good value for money, and recently they have also started a specialty sushi menu in the northern part of Temma station amidst the current coronavirus situation. I decided to try their sushi this time, starting with the Senbero set. The Senbero set includes 3 fixed skewers and a choice of 5 sushi pieces. You can choose any sushi within the range from tuna to salmon roe, and you can select the same type multiple times. I chose 2 pieces of the most expensive salmon roe, 2 pieces of scallop, and 1 piece of my favorite yellowtail. Normally, ordering 5 sushi pieces would cost 910 yen, so with the remaining 90 yen, you get 2 drinks and skewers included, making it a great value. I always feel bad for not ordering more dishes, but with the shop closing at 8 pm, I can't eat too much. I only ordered tempura and the total bill was around 1480 yen. I hope the Olympics will end soon and we can relax a bit more every night.

Finally, Mr. Mitsu has resumed business, so I decided to stop by on my way home. I started with the Senbero set, then tried the Dote-ni and seafood yukhoe. I also had the set of kushikatsu. With two beers included, I used a neighborhood coupon to add another dish for the third beer. I ordered the pork kimchi. The portion was already filling for one person. The restaurant has taken thorough measures against infection, with partitions and wider spacing between seats. The seating capacity may have decreased, but the sauce for the kushikatsu has changed from being marinated to being poured from a bottle. The infection control measures have definitely improved. If the business hours can be extended a bit and I can relax more, I will revisit with friends. Until then, I plan to visit alone.

For ¥1000, you get 3 kushikatsu skewers, 5 pieces of sushi, and 2 glasses of draft beer, highball, or lemon sour. Isn't that great! After sanitizing our hands and getting our temperature checked, we were seated at the same table as last time. We ordered the all-you-can-eat option for ¥2980, which included sushi, tempura, and kushikatsu among 150 food items, with a time limit of 120 minutes (last order at 90 minutes). We also added the all-you-can-drink option for a total of ¥3960 (tax included). We started with some sashimi, edamame, and tofu salad, followed by various dishes like medium fatty tuna sashimi and jumbo shrimp fry. The quality and variety of the food were impressive, and we couldn't believe that such high-quality items were part of the all-you-can-eat menu. The atmosphere was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience that we highly recommend.

What caught my eye was the "Senbero" deal! At first, I thought, "Hmm, this is Tenma, of course they have Senbero." But the deal here was amazing! Three small dishes, three skewers, two drinks... What?! Two drinks for 1000 yen... really?! Unbelievable! The sushi Senbero includes your choice of 5 pieces of sushi, 3 skewers, and 2 drinks. It's a steal! I couldn't believe it! So, I dragged my friends along to the restaurant. We went in, got our temperature checked and hands sanitized, and sat at a table. I couldn't find the Senbero menu, but my friend pointed to a menu on the wall. Yes, that's it! I asked the waiter for the Senbero set with sushi, and he recommended a beer. The beer arrived quickly, followed by the skewers. The skewers were delicious, especially the cheese one! Then came the sushi, which was also very tasty. How can this be so cheap?! The staff were attentive, always ready to refill our drinks. When my glass was empty, they immediately asked if I wanted another one. I ended up having two more beers! My friend had a highball for her second drink. We also ordered a clam sake steamed dish, which was a great pairing with the drinks. The staff even offered us hot tea at the end.
