This is a story from a while ago (back when I was wearing short sleeves lol) when I unexpectedly received some extra income, so I decided to invite my partner to go eat something luxurious! We ended up going to a restaurant where I had heard about before but never had the chance to visit. As someone who doesn't usually indulge in luxury, I usually associate "luxury" with non-conveyor belt sushi or all-you-can-eat barbecue... That's just how my mind works lol (in a Pure-kun style from "From the Northern Country" lol).
I remembered a friend recommending this place to me before, but due to always being short on money, I pretended not to hear about it. The restaurant offered my favorite dish, "sukiyaki," but at a barbecue restaurant... How intriguing!
The location was near the Lawson store on the street where the former Cross FM was located. The interior of the restaurant was surprisingly non-smoking and had a calm atmosphere, probably because each table was in a private room. This way, we could focus on enjoying our meat without worrying about other people around us (I guess I was really serious about eating barbecue lol).
We were led to a private room for four people and received an explanation of the set menu options from the staff. However, today I was going to indulge in luxury, so I decided to order a la carte items instead of a set menu. I ordered the "Sukiyaki-style Upper Loin," as well as "Yukhoe," "Liver Sashimi," "Rare Cuts Assortment," "Kimchi," and of course, rice (a must-have!). I didn't care about the comments like "You ended up ordering an assortment anyway!" because I just wanted to try a variety of dishes lol.
The rare cuts included kuri-mi, sasami, zabuton, special kalbi, and sagari, each with its own unique flavor and all delicious. And then, the main dish arrived - the "Sukiyaki-style Upper Loin." I was surprised to see beaten eggs, tofu, and shiitake mushrooms served with it, as I hadn't researched what "sukiyaki-style" meant beforehand (oops). The meat was marbled with fat and sizzled as soon as it touched the grill. I skillfully rescued it with my chopsticks, dipped it in the egg, and took a bite. It was heavenly!
The meal was so satisfying, especially when paired with rice. Barbecue is the best! Sukiyaki is the best! They go so well together! Thanks to this experience, I was able to indulge in luxury. The restaurant also has private rooms for up to 25 people, making it a great option for group gatherings.
