It's been a while since I visited Yame. It would have been better if I had a car, but I took a bus from Kurume to Fukushima, and then walked to get around. I arrived in the morning, finished one errand, and was looking for a place to eat before my afternoon appointments, but couldn't find a restaurant easily. I searched on Tabelog and found a ramen shop, an udon shop, and Hamakatsu. Since I had some time, I decided to go to Hamakatsu. Although I rarely visit it in Fukuoka city, I thought it was a valuable restaurant in the countryside. The place was quite crowded inside. I ordered a mixed meal with fried oysters, pork cutlet, and shrimp fry. It arrived in less than 10 minutes. The taste was neither good nor bad, just average. As a side note, there are many small restaurants that are more delicious than here, but the key difference is their marketing power. We must learn why those restaurants are popular even though we think they are not as tasty as ours. On the other hand, the artisan-style restaurants that believe they are better than here do not learn from them. It has become common in tonkatsu restaurants, but being able to have unlimited rice, miso soup, and cabbage is nice. At Hamakatsu, you can choose between red miso and white miso for the miso soup. The salad dressing has also been improved compared to before, which I thought was good. I enjoyed having seconds. I wanted to order coffee after the meal, but it seemed they didn't have it, so I left the restaurant. There really are no places to take a break around here. The customers who came in the afternoon told me that it's rare to see someone like me who came by bus and walked around, but it's true that there aren't many options.
