I went to a new restaurant that opened near my house. Overall, I felt the portions were a bit small. I enjoyed the salted butter grilled squid legs with plenty of spice sprinkled on top. I wish there was more pork in the pork kimchi dish. The pork in the okonomiyaki seemed to be cooked until it shrank and was crispy. Personally, I prefer thicker and tender pork slices.

After finishing up my errands in Ue-motocho, when it comes to okonomiyaki, my favorite spot is Tanuki-tei. There are branches all over Osaka, but I feel like the Kobashi branch has the most delicious and diverse menu. I usually go for the Pork Modern Set for 1,100 yen, where you can switch miso soup and rice for ice cream! The modern okonomiyaki is quite filling, so I opt for ice cream. I love the dough, thick noodles, and sweet and savory sauce. They also have a variety of creative okonomiyaki and other dishes, making it a great spot for evening parties.

I visited this store about 20-25 years ago, and the interior has been renovated since then, so the impression is quite different. However, I was surprised to see that the staff from that time are still there. I wonder if this is a franchise store? Back then, there were only three stores, but now there seem to be quite a few. It seems to have become popular for inbound tourists. The taste is Osaka's popular flavor with sweet sauce okonomiyaki. I ordered the squid okonomiyaki and it had a lot of squid and seemed to use good quality squid. However, the price seems to have gone up since the old days, at 850 yen. The pork kimchi is a bit sweet with Tsuruhashi kimchi, and it has a nostalgic taste of the common people. I think it's the type of place that won't disappoint you, rather than a place that tries too hard to be unique.

I visited after a long time. I love the okonomiyaki here. It's gooey inside, which is different from other okonomiyaki restaurants. I also love the yakisoba. The thick noodles give a satisfying bite. It goes well with the sauce and beer. As for side dishes, the oyster butteryaki and omelette are amazing here. This place is incredible! I've been coming here whenever I crave okonomiyaki for about 15 years. There are multiple locations in Osaka, but I think the Kobashi store is the best.

Today's lunch was at "Tanukitei Kobashi Store." It was my first visit. Two days in a row at flour-based food restaurants. Yesterday's "Ajikuraya" is right next door to this place. Both are impressive and spacious okonomiyaki restaurants!! It's a fierce competition for flour-based foods here!! I ordered the Yakisoba set meal (pork) for 900 yen and the Tonpei Yaki half size for 200 yen (tax included). The Yakisoba set meal comes with fried noodles topped with a fried egg, rice, miso soup, and a side dish. The Tonpei Yaki half size is a menu option where you can add a half-size Tonpei Yaki to any set meal for an additional 200 yen. On the table, there were bonito flakes, powdered bonito, seaweed, and red pepper. It would be nice if they also provided mayonnaise, chili sauce, and sauce, but I wonder if they would bring them if requested? After a while, the set meal was served first. The side dish was kinpira gobou. Shortly after, the main dish arrived without much delay. Wait, there's no fried egg topping on the Yakisoba!! Isn't the Tonpei Yaki half supposed to come with a half-size Tonpei Yaki in addition to the fried egg topping...? It seems they swapped out the fried egg for the Tonpei Yaki... It's not a problem in terms of the amount of eggs consumed in a day and the lunch portion, but it feels a bit disappointing... I hope the menu is accurate. The Yakisoba had medium-thick noodles. There was plenty of cabbage and pork, and it was delicious!! Since it's cooked directly on the hot plate, it develops a nice charred crust, which I like!! The Tonpei Yaki half size was also a sufficient portion size!! There was plenty of pork in it too, and it was delicious!! Both dishes had a generous amount of pork, so towards the end, the hot plate became quite oily (laughs). The rice in the set meal was shiny and delicious, and the miso soup had a strong bonito flavor and was quite tasty!! It's a bit pricey at around 1,100 yen for a salaryman's lunch... If the Yakisoba set meal was 750 yen and the Tonpei Yaki half was around 150 yen, I would be very satisfied... But, it was very delicious!! Thank you for the meal!!

★October 2018 There are many okonomiyaki restaurants around this area, but my boss recommended this place so I decided to give it a try. The restaurant opens at 5:30 PM, and I arrived a bit early. As soon as it opened, I entered the restaurant. The interior was surprisingly spacious, and despite being alone, I was seated at a table for four people. More customers started to come in, and they all seemed to be regulars as they were chatting with the staff. It seemed like they also offered takeout. The menu was quite extensive, with a variety of side dishes available. The cooked okonomiyaki is placed on the hot plate on the table, so it's always hot and ready to eat. All seats allow smoking, and I could smell cigarette smoke during payment, so I deducted 2 points for the atmosphere. I was torn between choices, but I wanted to have soba with my meal, so I chose the "Western Modern Yaki." It wasn't very Western in taste, with a light sauce, making it surprisingly light for a modern yaki. It was quite delicious! ★February 2019 This time, I tried the "Haikara Yaki" for 1150 yen. It's recommended as the second most popular menu after the "Western Modern Yaki." It's an okonomiyaki with beef tendon and konjac. But I couldn't resist topping it with udon noodles. The topping costs 320 yen. They asked me to choose between sauce and soy sauce, and when I couldn't decide, they suggested a half-and-half option, which I went with. There is also a "Modern Yaki" version of the Haikara Yaki for 1370 yen, which includes plain soba. I also ordered a soft drink, 100% grapefruit juice for 370 yen, which was delicious. There are bonito flakes, powdered fish, nori, and shichimi pepper on the table for you to sprinkle on your okonomiyaki as you like. The soy sauce flavor was quite light, almost like negiyaki. It definitely pairs well with beef tendon and konjac. When I tried the sauce flavor, it felt familiar and comforting. I added more soy sauce from the table and sprinkled some shichimi pepper, which gave it a nice kick. This way, the soy sauce flavor might overpower. I added points for the good service, as they recommended the half-and-half option and provided other good service, but deducted points for the atmosphere due to the strong smell of cigarettes from the neighboring customers. All seats allowing smoking, including branch locations, can be quite tough.

I have a regular craving for okonomiyaki, so I decided to visit this place for the first time. Making a reservation was a good idea because it was full when I arrived around 6:00 pm on the weekend. It's a bit of a walk from the station, but it seems to be popular. I ordered okonomiyaki mix and yakisoba mix while enjoying some side dishes. The cheese topping made it deliciously gooey and perfect with drinks. The yakisoba mix was also full of ingredients and consistently tasty. I will definitely visit again.

It had been a while since I had sushi from Ooichi-san, so I planned to eat there and ended up at the Kohashi intersection. Despite the cold wind blowing, I naturally headed towards the warm direction. It was my first visit, but the staff at the restaurant were very polite. Of course, the tomato cheese bake was also delicious. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

The speed from ordering to receiving the food is surprisingly fast, and I wonder how they can maintain such speed. The taste is also excellent. The staff are very friendly and well-trained, including in how they handle drinks.

I visited this place after a long time. I love their okonomiyaki here. I had the Okonomiyaki with pork and egg, Yakisoba with pork and egg, grilled oysters with salt and lemon, Teppanyaki with spicy sauce, and Chanja. The Chanja was reliably delicious. The oysters were big and juicy, enjoyed with salt and lemon. Yum! But you have to eat them quickly before they shrink. The Teppanyaki with spicy sauce was the best! The flavors of the meat and sauce soaked into the vegetables. It started with the meat stealing the show, but then the vegetables took over. Perfect for those who drink alcohol, and also great as a side dish for those who don't. The okonomiyaki with pork and egg was excellent. It had a gooey type of filling, different from the fluffy type at other places like Fugetsu. The slightly sweet sauce matched perfectly. The Yakisoba with pork and egg (egg optional) had thick noodles, which were also great. I want to visit again soon.

A family of four had dinner here. We ordered onion slices, mini hotpot with oysters and burdock, yakisoba, pork okonomiyaki, squid okonomiyaki, and squid modan, along with the recommended menu item, tomato cheese okonomiyaki. Despite being an okonomiyaki restaurant, they have a wide variety of side dishes. The onion slices and hotpot were delicious. The side dishes arrived quickly, and the okonomiyaki was served just as we finished eating. Okonomiyaki usually takes a long time to cook, but here it was ready quite fast, which was great for families with children. The yakisoba had thick noodles and tasty sauce. The okonomiyaki had a nice sweetness from the pork, even the tomato cheese okonomiyaki had pork in it, which was a pleasant surprise. Everything was delicious. The staff also provided timely water service, making the experience even more pleasant. Thank you for the meal, we will definitely come back again!

Located in the middle of Sennichimae Street between Uehommachi Station and Tsuruhashi Station, I visited a chain store specializing in okonomiyaki. The interior of the restaurant only had table seating. I ordered the Renkon Yaki, Butatama, and High-cara Yakisoba. The seasoning with a good sauce was delicious. When it comes to this type of dish, if the sauce is tasty, it reflects well on the ingredients and makes the dish delicious. The Butatama had plenty of pork and the Yakisoba had tasty noodles with a delicious sauce. The ingredients such as cabbage, konnyaku, and pork were well stewed and had a good flavor. Even though it's a chain store, the taste may vary slightly depending on the location.
