I arrived before noon on a holiday, and the waiting area was full of people. The parking lot wasn't too crowded, so maybe a lot of people came by train. The actual wait time was much shorter than what was written at the reception. The sushi was excellent value for money. It was great to be able to eat a lot of sushi from Hokkaido as a tourist. The texture of the salmon roe was amazing!

I went a little late, but the restaurant was packed and lively. Today's recommendations were eel, seared fatty tuna, button shrimp, and fresh salmon. I also had octopus legs, tuna, conger eel tempura, crab miso, red snapper, fresh mackerel, fatty tuna, squid, and more! Personally, I recommend the eel, seared fatty tuna, and fresh mackerel!

During my visit in June 2023, we had fresh horse mackerel, Sapporo Classic beer (medium size), tuna, pickled herring, botanebi shrimp, fresh salmon, scallops, silver halibut, white beans, sweet shrimp, hotate salad, red tuna, sea urchin, small fish sushi rolls, and hotate (scallop) sushi rolls. The total bill came to 8,239 yen for 19 plates. After completing our house hunting in just one day, we decided to extend our trip to Otaru before catching our flight the next day. It was my third time visiting Otaru, and my friend's first. We strolled through the Triangle Market, admired the canal and historic buildings, and then headed to a sushi restaurant my friend had researched. We arrived at 10:30 am and found a small line forming. We decided to explore the town a bit more and returned at 10:45 am to find a decent line already formed. We barely made it in time for the opening at 11 am. The restaurant had three sushi chefs working diligently. The service was quick, and the sushi was delicious. We started with fresh horse mackerel and Sapporo Classic beer, followed by various sushi dishes including pickled herring, botanebi shrimp, fresh scallops, and sea urchin. Some highlights were the fresh horse mackerel, fresh salmon, hotate (scallop) sushi rolls, and sea urchin. My friend, who usually doesn't like salmon, even enjoyed it. We couldn't stay too long as we had to head to the airport, but we left satisfied and impressed by the quality of the sushi. The only downside was that the restaurant only accepted cash for payment.

On a regular lunch break, I went to this restaurant with my colleagues. The place was crowded, even though there weren't many cars in the parking lot. Thanks to my boss who had already put our names down, we were seated within a few minutes of entering the restaurant. I handed the order sheet to my junior and we started writing down our choices - scallop, salmon, tempura eel, real king crab... and of course, the must-have Hokkai salad when you go to a sushi restaurant! While it wasn't my favorite (I prefer a certain famous 100 yen sushi chain), it was still delicious. The sushi was top-notch, with big, flavorful pieces. I finished off with some fresh sea urchin for 880 yen. A luxurious lunch indeed! Despite the average service, the lively atmosphere and delicious sushi made it a great dining experience. Thank you for the meal.

Today is the last day of my trip, and I took a train to Otaru. In Otaru Station, there is an old station name display board. Otaru Canal is lined with old warehouses. There are Japanese tourists as well as many people from the continent. Otaru has seafood bowls, but they are expensive, so I opted for a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, Waraku Otaru branch, for lunch. With conveyor belt sushi, you can choose what you like in the quantity you want. I started with thick rolled omelette, which was sweet and delicious. Next, I had fried octopus, although I ordered octopus tempura. I then looked at the drink menu and found that there was no shochu, only sake. I ordered a glass of white wine, which turned out to be very small. My companion was surprised too. It was time to pay the bill, and when I picked up a toothpick, I found out that it was made of corn, which naturally decomposes in the soil. It is eco-friendly. In the end, I didn't eat much sushi.

Last time, I encountered a shop in Otaru at the end of the year that ran out of material quickly and had never heard of before. This time, I went in. Scarily enough, this place is cash only. There were foreigners there, but do they have Japanese yen? The material is good, as you can see in the photos. I love tuna, and they have good quality ingredients. However, since it's a tourist spot in Otaru, is it expensive? It's a shop that matches its price.

The sushi restaurants in Otaru vary in price and quality, with the top ones being difficult to book. However, if you want to eat sushi without breaking the bank, this chain restaurant is recommended for its good balance of cost and quality. Be prepared for a long line though. They accept credit cards and it is a non-smoking establishment.

If you want to enjoy some light revolving sushi in Otaru, this is the place to go. I visited as soon as it opened. They had a variety of sushi, from classic choices like tuna and salmon roe to seasonal options like herring and shirako. The sea urchin had no unpleasant taste and was delicious. It was a slightly upscale revolving sushi restaurant, costing around 4,000 yen per person. Thank you for the meal.

I just couldn't satisfy my craving for sea urchin, so I visited the restaurant just for uni and seared enoki mushrooms. The uni had no fishy smell, as expected from Hokkaido. The seared enoki mushrooms melted in my mouth instantly, with a rich and not overpowering flavor. I regret not being able to try more varieties.

I extended my trip a little from Sapporo to Otaru. There are many sushi restaurants in Otaru, but I heard that even conveyor belt sushi is delicious enough, so I decided to go to Waraku, a conveyor belt sushi restaurant a little past the Otaru Canal. There were reviews saying there would be a line during lunchtime, so I arrived 10 minutes before opening and got the second spot in line. About an hour later, the restaurant was fully packed. Every sushi I tried was delicious, but the sea urchin was especially tasty. I don't usually eat sea urchin, but the one here had no fishy smell and was sweet. The scallops, botan shrimp were also large and delicious, and there were many seared sushi items that I love. As for unusual items, I tried herring for the first time because it was going around on the conveyor belt. The small bones were prickly, which I didn't like. Just like the reviews said, I was completely satisfied with the conveyor belt sushi. Thank you for the meal!

It is located near the canal along Route 17 in Otaru, Hokkaido. The sushi is made by skilled chefs. They offer a variety of shiny fish like mackerel and sardines, as well as shellfish. The most interesting dish was the rolled mackerel sushi, which was fresh and delicious.

On the third day of my trip to Hokkaido, I stayed in Otaru. When in Otaru, you have to try the sushi! However, with two young children, a conveyor belt sushi restaurant is more suitable for me. So, I decided to go to Waraku, a popular conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Otaru. This place can get quite crowded depending on the time. Well, Hokkaido's conveyor belt sushi is just delicious. It's so good that it's mind-blowing. To put it mildly, it's better than non-conveyor belt sushi restaurants in Honshu. The sea urchin is amazingly delicious as expected, and the hokke nigiri is a rare delicacy that you can't easily find elsewhere. The white fish nigiri is also top-notch in terms of taste. I regret that you can't eat it outside of Hokkaido. Despite all this praise, I forgot to take photos. One great thing about this place is that it is child-friendly! They cut the rolls, nigiri, and gunkan into kid-sized portions. Even without us asking, the sushi chefs would offer to cut them smaller by saying, "Shall I make them smaller?" This kind of attention to detail is really important, memorable, and makes you want to come back. It may seem like a small gesture, but it's not something that everyone can do... The deliciousness and service combined make this conveyor belt sushi restaurant truly amazing!! Thank you for the meal (^-^)/

When you come to Hokkaido, you definitely want to visit a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. This one, located near the Otaru Sakaimachi shopping street, seems to attract many tourists due to its convenient location. I visited on a weekday around 5 pm and there were only a few customers, so I was seated right away. You have to handwrite your order on a slip of paper and give it to the staff. The sushi here is more traditional rather than modern creations. Every sushi I tried was delicious, but the standout was the scallop tempura sushi. It was incredibly fresh and chewy, just as recommended on the menu. I learned that it's best to follow the recommended dishes. Also, they don't accept credit cards.

I wanted to have a drink so I visited this place. Coming from Hokkaido where I'm used to sushi restaurants, I found the variety here a bit lacking. Since it was night time, quite a few items were already sold out. The prices were a bit on the higher side, but I think it's reasonable considering the location. The taste was neither good nor bad. However, there were several groups of customers waiting even at night, so this revolving sushi restaurant in Otaru seems to be quite popular.

One of the popular conveyor belt sushi restaurants in Otaru! It was incredibly delicious. The chef prepared the sushi right in front of us using fresh ingredients from Hokkaido, and everything was delicious. I was impressed by dishes like octopus head and seared herring. Hokkaido's seafood was truly delicious!

Located near the Otaru Canal, close to the shopping street for tourists. It's a popular tourist spot, so even after 2 PM, we had to wait for about 30 minutes. The staff seemed tired that day, and their service was a bit lacking. The sushi was delicious, as expected in Hokkaido. However, the prices were a bit high considering the portion sizes. We tried a few pieces and left early. It was my first time trying pressed mackerel sushi, and it was incredibly tasty, so I became a fan. My husband loved the seared sushi. The exterior of the restaurant looks elegant and high-end.

I visited this restaurant after being recommended during a sightseeing tour on a rickshaw. It was good to be seated before it got crowded. I tried the rare "raw herring" that cannot be eaten in Tokyo at this time of year, and it was delicious, so I had seconds. The live scallops, representing Hokkaido, were thick and incredibly tasty. I also compared and tried the live horsehair crab and white horsehair crab, both of which I love. The live horsehair crab had a crunchy texture that was irresistible. The white horsehair crab looked a bit thin at first, but the crunchy texture as I bit into it, along with its sweetness, was delightful. The sea eel was a bit watery. It was disappointing that they only accepted cash for payment (I ate quite a bit). I rated my satisfaction as 4 stars.

When it comes to Otaru, I wanted to eat delicious sushi at a sushi counter, but on this day it was pouring rain due to a typhoon. I ended up jumping into this restaurant with a sign that read "Rotating Sushi." While waiting, I checked that this rotating sushi restaurant has been popular in Otaru for a long time, even among locals. Although there is a Sushizanmai nearby, this place seemed to be more trendy. I had high hopes because they said the sushi is made by skilled chefs. As for the taste, I tried various local dishes, but honestly, it was neither good nor bad. I'm sorry for the underwhelming review. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived in Otaru and asked for recommendations for local shops. I immediately went to one of the recommended places. The entrance had a nice atmosphere, but inside it was a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. It was spacious with plenty of seats, so even if you have to wait, the belt moves quickly. Since I had plans to visit other places afterwards, I didn't want to eat too much, so I carefully selected my order and wrote it down on a piece of paper. The staff didn't notice for a while, which was a bit disappointing, but the fatty tuna was delicious!
