This is a fantastic dish that comes with everything. First, the main dish is beef tongue, barley rice, grated yam, egg, and shredded cabbage hidden underneath. You can squeeze lemon juice on the tongue, mix it as you eat, and finish by pouring broth over it like ochazuke. It was a practical all-in-one meal. The Grilled Beef Tongue with Salt and Green Onions in a Pot Rice was delicious and cost 990 yen.

Located in Umeda Food Hall, this restaurant has a lot of seating so we were able to find a seat even during Saturday meal times. I ordered the Negi Shio Gyutan Tsubo Meshi for 990 yen. It consists of cabbage, Negi Shio Gyutan (green onion salted beef tongue), raw egg, and grated yam on top of rice. The tsubo (pot) is a bit heavy so be careful when carrying it. The gyutan is thinly sliced and cut into small pieces. You can enjoy it by eating it as it is or by pouring soup over it. The portion size is generous and I left feeling full.

At lunch today, I went to a beef tongue restaurant. Since the beef tongue is probably imported meat, I opted for domestic salmon instead. It was probably farmed, from Miyagi Prefecture. Delicious♪♪
I ordered the Date salmon yuzu-an grilled set meal for 1,590 yen (tax included), which came with burdock and hijiki kinpira, spinach, and Sendai beef tongue set meal for 1,890 yen.
Also, I had the Sanriku-style oden and spinach.

This is a review of a restaurant located in the Umeda Food Hall in Hankyu Sanban-gai. I tried the Barley Rice and Tororo (grated yam) with a choice of 3 side dishes set meal. The set meal includes barley rice, tororo, and a choice of 3 side dishes with tail soup for 990 yen. You can choose 3 side dishes from a selection of 5 displayed in the showcase. I chose Kinoko and Atsuage (thick fried tofu) simmered in soy sauce, Eggplant with Yuzu citrus ponzu sauce, and Pumpkin sweet potato. The side dishes were neatly arranged and seemed to be prepared with care.

I visited the restaurant on its opening day and tried the healthy barley rice with grated yam and a choice of side dishes set meal. The meal came with a generous bowl of oxtail soup, which got me really excited. I mixed the grated yam with egg yolk using a mortar and pestle, which was quite fun. The homemade feel of the barley rice with grated yam was satisfying, and it felt like I had put effort into making it myself. The stickiness of the yam is gentle on the stomach and aids digestion, making it a perfect match with the fiber-rich barley rice. I chose three side dishes - Kinakari beef stew (delicious), simmered hijiki seaweed (for iron), and colorful eggplant with yuzu ponzu (seasonal). Each dish was carefully prepared, and I could taste the different flavors. The presentation was also impressive. Overall, the Sendai beef tongue barley rice at Sandaime Bunji was excellent.

I arrived just before 2 pm to the restaurant, which was set to open on October 20th. The place was already starting to get busy, which got me excited. They were having a special sale from the 20th to the 23rd, so I decided to try the "Thick Cut Sendai Beef Tongue Set Meal with Extra Barley Rice" for a discounted price. The set meal also came with a choice of two side dishes from a selection of five. I chose the "Meat and Potato Stew with Kinu Seaweed" option. The barley rice came in a large portion for free, which was a nice touch. The tail soup was cute, with tiny pieces of tail meat. The main dish, the beef tongue, had a good thickness to it, but the cooking technique seemed lacking as some parts were tough and lacked the crispy texture on the surface. However, the thinner parts were tasty. The standout dish for me was the "Meat and Potato Stew," which was delicious and made me want more. The stew had a perfect balance of sweetness and the meat was flavorful. The Kinu seaweed side dish was also moist and had a gentle taste. Overall, I would recommend trying the regular Sendai Beef Tongue Set Meal over the thick cut version. I'm looking forward to seeing how their cooking skills improve in the future.

I don't need the small side dish in the beef tongue set meal, so please give me more meat. The meat itself was thin and tough. There are other beef tongue restaurants in Umeda, so I would recommend going to those instead.
