For me, La Maison du Chocolat is special. As a reward for working hard, I treat myself to two pieces of chocolate. Bonbon Chocolat 756 yen x 2 (Caramelo, Maracuja). Caramelo is a milk ganache with caramel flavor. It breaks apart and melts, with a hint of salt that I love. Maracuja is a dark ganache with passion fruit flavor. It has sweetness within the bitterness, and the shell of the chocolate has a deep flavor. The passion fruit is sweet and sour, refreshing. Both were delicious. I will try my best again. La Maison du Chocolat came to Yokohama, so I can go there easily now, but this place was the closest before. I originally rated it 4.5, but I will lower it now that its duty is over. This does not mean La Maison du Chocolat has decreased in value.

I bought limited edition eclairs at Odakyu Department Store in Shinjuku. They were only selling 20 sets from 12:30pm, but I managed to get one. I enjoyed a luxurious snack time with rich chocolate cream eclairs. It was a set of two eclairs with different flavors for 756 yen.

I bought some macarons at the Marunouchi store a while ago and they were so delicious that I decided to buy them again. The macarons cost 324 yen each (tax included) and I got the Passion Coconut Milk Chocolate flavor. The ganache inside can be either dark chocolate or praline depending on the flavor. The ones from the Marunouchi store were amazing, but these ones were good too, just not as mind-blowing. The macaron shells had small air bubbles, which made the overall appearance slightly different. The price was the same, so if I were to buy again, I would probably go for the ones from the Marunouchi store. They also have a store in Aoyama and Toranomon Hills, so I might try buying from there next time. They also had 4-5 types of cakes displayed. According to other reviews I read, the cakes are delicious too. The staff at the store were very friendly and provided great service.

Tonight, I went on a stroll through the sweets section of the department store once again. Lately, I've been enjoying discovering sweets that are not the usual classics from long-established shops, and trying out different sweets from prestigious shops. So, this time I tried the macarons from La Maison du Chocolat. I usually enjoy their delicate and thin chocolates, but as a fan of both macarons and chocolates, I have been curious to try their macarons for a while. I don't remember if they used to sell macarons before, maybe it's a limited-time offering? The display area for macarons is smaller compared to the chocolate section, and it gives off a luxurious vibe with everything in shades of brown. The macarons themselves come in vibrant colors, and you can choose even just one piece. I asked the staff and found out that all the cream inside is chocolate. This might be a must-try for chocolate lovers even if they are not fans of macarons. The outer shell is so delicate that they recommend handling it carefully. I couldn't wait to try it at home. As soon as I held it in my hand, I felt a smoothness and delicacy I had never experienced before. When I cautiously brought it to my mouth, the rich chocolate filling...suddenly...a weighty sensation...from delicate to substantial. The balance between the shell and the chocolate is outstanding. Normally, I would just devour something delicious, but these macarons really stand out with their impressive transition from the outside to the inside, allowing you to savor the change in your mouth. They are a bit pricey, and the shelf life is quite short, around 2 days due to the chocolate cream filling (but I think macarons in general have a short shelf life). Despite being a luxury item, they make a perfect small gift for someone special.

[First Visit] 2020/2 A friend who loves macarons told me that the macarons here are the best she's ever had. As a complete beginner in the macaron world, I decided to give it a try. Please note that some parts of the photos may not look great. ・Kito - A plain macaron with a strong dark ganache filling - 324 yen → The chocolate has a rich aroma and the macaron, despite its small size, has a strong presence and is delicious. ・Figaro - A dark ganache filling with a fragrant hazelnut flavor - 324 yen → The high aroma of the ganache combined with the nutty flavor is a perfect balance and very delicious! I would like to try the financiers and eclairs that my friend recommended next time.

I love chocolate. I sometimes buy Bon Bon Chocolat, and I prefer smooth milk chocolate over bitter chocolate. I tried Baton for the first time, and there are three flavors with coconut or praline inside. The crunchy texture is enjoyable, but I wish it had a bit more bitterness. I bought Financier in orange & black tea, plain, and chocolate flavors. The chocolate one with chocolate ganache inside was the best! I also tried a macaron, and it was amazingly delicious.

Halloween Cream Puff. Delicate choux pastry with a beautiful bat-shaped chocolate decoration, filled with a light chocolate mousse and rich chocolate cream in two layers. Chestnut Eclair, seasonal limited edition. The balance of chestnut and chocolate is wonderful. Both flavors come through well. In La Maison du Chocolat, it might be considered a lighter option?

"The website conveys the true elegance of chocolate without leaving anything out. The cakes that allow you to enjoy real chocolate are expensive, but worth every penny. The high-class éclair is delicious and unmatched. Located inside the Odakyu Department Store in Shinjuku. La Maison du Chocolat can also be found in Shinjuku Station, but the store there seems to have a larger display area. I couldn't forget the cake I had at La Maison du Chocolat Marunouchi store, so I went to buy some cakes. The Newman store didn't have any cakes, so I went to the Odakyu Department Store. Just after 11 o'clock, the cakes were being arranged in the showcase. The Antulmedelis costs 783 yen, quite expensive. It has a simple and elegant appearance. I also got an éclair, the caramel one. Éclair Caramel costs 702 yen. I took them home and placed them on a chilled plate. The cakes were delicious as always, allowing you to enjoy real chocolate. The éclair had a generous amount of caramel cream inside, and the small chocolate pieces on top added a great texture and flavor. Although I thought it was pricey, I found it much more satisfying than buying 2-3 cheaper and less impressive cakes or éclairs. The founder established La Maison du Chocolat with the goal of conveying the true elegance of chocolate, as mentioned on the website. This elegance is evident, and that's why I like La Maison du Chocolat. As a souvenir for myself, I also bought a Financier, which cost 315 yen. The plain one was ordinary, but the chocolate one had a block of chocolate in it. It was delicious, but nothing extraordinary for its price."

I was checking out the Easter products at my favorite store and this Uf Praline caught my eye, so I decided to stop by. I have visited the Marunouchi and Roppongi stores before, but this was my first time visiting the Shinjuku store. Just like the other stores, the interior is chocolate-colored and has a calm atmosphere typical of La Maison du Chocolat. Here are the items I bought: Financier Chocolat ¥324 Financier Orange ¥324 Uf Praline 50g ¥1539 All prices include tax. [Financier Chocolat] A financier with a chocolatier touch, the dough itself has a strong cocoa flavor similar to a gateau chocolat. It also has a hint of bitter chocolate, adding to its richness. [Financier Orange] With a rich buttery aroma and a fragrant orange scent, the surface is crispy while the inside is very moist. Even non-chocolate baked goods are delicious! [Uf Praline] It contains the following 4 flavors: <2 types of Milk Praline> - Amande: Almond and hazelnut praline coated with milk chocolate, with a crunchy almond texture. (Wrapped in yellow gold paper) - Dentelle: Classic style praline with crushed crepe dentelle coated with milk chocolate. (Wrapped in pink gold paper) <2 types of Dark Praline> - Noisette: Hazelnut praline with a roasted flavor coated with dark chocolate and a hint of vanilla. (Wrapped in deep orange paper) - Crakan: Classic style praline with caramelized almonds and roasted hazelnuts coated with dark chocolate. (Wrapped in dark brown paper) The pralines have a strong aroma! This year, I purchased Easter egg-shaped chocolates from several brands and compared them. Among them, I think La Maison du Chocolat's pralines had the most flavorful taste. Considering the content for the price, there is no big difference compared to others. The ones coated in milk chocolate melt smoothly and luxuriously. The plain dark chocolate also has a smooth melting texture. I have always focused on ganache products at La Maison du Chocolat, but from now on, I need to pay more attention to their praline products. One thing to note is that the Bonbon Chocolat I tried had a fridge smell, which was very concerning. It was a delicate cherry green tea dark ganache, and it was disappointing. They mentioned that it is no longer being sold, so I wonder if it was stored for a long time... The items I received this time were fine, but it still raises concerns if they are stored in the same way. I hope La Maison du Chocolat takes pride in storing their important products, so I have high expectations for them in the future. Considering all this, I give this review a rating of ☆. Thank you for the delicious treats!

Each piece of chocolate from La Maison du Chocolat is rich and impressive. While it may be a bit pricey for everyday snacking, indulging in these chocolates as a treat once in a while only enhances the experience. Here are some of the standout flavors:
- Dark Ganache: A square piece with a rough surface made from Ghanaian cocoa chocolate, offering a spicy and not overly sweet taste.
- Extreme Chocolate: A crunchy surface with a soft, bitter interior reminiscent of a ganache.
- Coffee Chocolate: A coffee-flavored piece with a bitter-sweet combination that is truly delightful.
- Bora Plain Chocolate: A chewy ganache center covered in a crispy chocolate shell, offering a balance of bitter and sweet flavors.
- Salvador: A raspberry-flavored dark ganache piece with a bitter, crispy chocolate shell.
- Rigor: A caramel-flavored milk chocolate mousse center covered in milk chocolate with a mild sweetness.
- Glendandel: A milk praline chocolate with a crunchy texture and a mild bitterness.
- Figaro Noir: A hazelnut and almond milk praline chocolate with a subtle bitterness and a delightful aroma.
- Andalusia: A lemon-flavored dark ganache piece for a refreshing taste.
- Crystal: A hazelnut-scented milk chocolate piece with a smooth, creamy taste.
These chocolates come in a beautiful box, crafted using a method similar to the creation of Ferragamo boxes. Even after finishing the chocolates, the box is too lovely to throw away, serving as a reminder of the delicious treats enjoyed.

On Sunday afternoon, I visited a shop in Shinjuku Odakyu Department Store B2 floor to buy macarons. These macarons are imported from France. I chose a total of 12 pieces of 8 different flavors: Quito - strong plain dark ganache, Venezuela - plain dark ganache with a nutty note, Rigoletto - dark ganache with a hint of salted caramel flavor, Pistachio - ganache with pistachio flavor, Maracuja - ganache with passion fruit flavor, Abyssini - dark ganache flavored with mascarpone and cold-brewed coffee, Figaro - dark ganache with hazelnut flavor, Macapuno - dark ganache with coconut and lime paste flavor. Each macaron cost 324 yen, but I later realized that the box cost an additional 432 yen. The macarons were all rich and delicious, more like ganache-filled cookies than traditional macarons. The combination of the rich macaron shells and the dark chocolate ganache was fantastic. The total cost was 4,320 yen. Thank you for the meal!

Oh my, have you seen it, madam? I visited La Maison du Chocolat Marunouchi store, which has an atmosphere where people might talk behind your back. It seems the Marunouchi store is famous. I stopped by to bring some as a get-well gift for my mother, who suddenly fell ill recently, but it was already too late! She couldn't eat it anymore. Instead, she can still eat sea urchin, so she's still okay at Hamazushi Yokohama Kamishirane store. Today is her birthday, so I want to celebrate with a special cake from Partager bakery. She has been surviving for two years since her 76th birthday. Living is tough, but she is doing her best! She is an inspiration. The remaining chocolates are helping me and my sister!

On the way back from a trip abroad, I really wanted to eat Japanese food, so I stopped by Odakyu. For lunch, I bought sushi, and then my daughter really wanted to eat macarons, so we went to this shop. I only planned to buy two, but the shopkeeper insisted on giving us one each as a taste test. We felt bad, so we ended up buying three in the end. As for the taste, the hazelnut flavored macaron was delicious. The cream filling was generous and creamy, making it very tasty.

I was surprised to find a La Maison du Chocolat counter at the Odakyu Department Store Main Building B2F in Shinjuku on October 5, 2016. It was a new store opening at the renewed sweets section. I used to go to the Marunouchi store to buy their chocolates, but now I can conveniently buy them at the Odakyu Department Store in Shinjuku. The prices are a bit high, so it's not something I can buy casually. They also sell cakes and macarons, not just chocolates. I bought a special Christmas season chocolate box for my husband as a year-end gift. He loves chocolates, so he was very happy with it. It was a bit pricey, but worth it. The chocolates were delicious, especially the dark chocolates. It was a nice treat for the holiday season.

Odakyu also has Maison du Chocolat. There is no ice cream, but there are plenty of chocolates, caramel-like treats, various macarons, eclairs, two types of cup sweets, and one chocolate cake. The eclairs I had in France were so delicious, different from the ones in Japan. I will compare them again when I go to France next week. The Eclair Pomme Praline for 756 yen is an exclusive product at Obukyu. It has a strong praline cream on top, with a hint of refreshing apple compote. The Eclair Caramel for 685 yen, which I bought at Roppongi Hills, was 620 yen + tax before, so it has slightly increased in price. The caramel cream, or rather caramel sauce, injected from the bottom of the dough, has a smooth texture and an irresistible richness. The tiramisu for 540 yen was a bit different from what I had at Hills. The price has also decreased. The ganache cream with a strong stickiness matches better here. The mascarpone is fluffy and slightly bitter. The macaron I tried at the checkout was very thin, crispy compared to Pierre Herme or Laduree. I prefer a chewy texture. As a chocolate specialty store, the generous chocolate cream sandwiched in the eclair is outstanding. The dough seems to be just a side dish to enjoy the cream. The composition is different from Japan, so I am looking forward to trying macarons from Laduree and Pierre Herme!

- Location: Opened on 10/5 in the place where JoTo used to be, located underground in Odakyu Department Store. (By the way, JoTo is gone, but Gramercy New York opened across the street, so is it a substitution?)
- Exterior/Interior: It feels almost like JoTo, as if it was a replacement. I had a moment of confusion trying to find it. It lacks the luxurious feel of Newman or any aura.
- Taste: Valencia, Jolika, Figaro (around 1000 yen each for home use, so buying individually). When you take a bite of Valencia, the strong scent of Grand Marnier like never before. It's a taste that stands out from the orange liqueur in stores. Jolika has a vibrant green paste with a pistachio-flavored almond, which is delicious. However, the chocolate taste is subtle, so it might be better to avoid it if you're trying it for the first time. Figaro has almond and hazelnut praline. The cocoa taste is also subtle.
- Conclusion: The threshold is lower than Newman's store, so the satisfaction of buying is lower. It might be better not to go on a date here. If you're going on a date, Aoyama or Marunouchi would be better. But for home use, this place is more casual and recommended.
- Additional information: It seems that "Faust," which was previously available, is also discontinued...

I received a box of two Bonbons de Chocolat from this shop selling high-quality chocolates originating from France. I received an Attention 2-piece set with two chocolates inside. The flavors were Acosombo and Caramelo. Acosombo was a dark ganache made with cocoa from Ghana. It had a rich bitter taste that was very delicious. Caramelo was a milk ganache with a caramel flavor. It had a perfect level of sweetness and depth, and was very tasty. The sweetness gradually emerged in the mouth, making it even more delicious. Both chocolates had a luxurious feel and were very delicious, so I would love to try them again. Thank you for the treat!
