The inside of the shop has a stylish atmosphere that you wouldn't expect along the Utoro fishing port. It feels like a place run by a couple, with walls lined with Western music records and guitars, showing that the owner loves music. There are also motorcycles on display, creating a sense of "manly romance". At night, it turns into a bar, and they also hold live music events occasionally. But what impressed me even more was the stunning view from the large window! Right in front of you is the vast Okhotsk Sea. During the drift ice season, you can even see the drift ice field. Enjoying tea time while gazing at this view is truly luxurious. I originally came for tea, but after looking at the menu, I changed my mind. There were so many sea urchin dishes that caught my eye. Even though I had just had lunch earlier, I decided to have a second lunch that day. The Uni Tomato Cream Pasta is their most popular menu item. It comes with soup, salad, and bread, with 200g priced at 1200 yen, and you can add more for an additional 100 yen. At first glance, it looks like a normal meat sauce, but upon closer inspection, there is an abundance of sea urchin. The sea urchin is so plentiful that you can clearly see it with the naked eye. The aroma is that of the sea, and the taste is a mysterious blend of tomato and sea urchin flavors. The Uni Curry also features a generous amount of sea urchin in its curry sauce. Is there such a thing as a luxurious curry like this? The curry sauce is spicy and delicious, but the presence of sea urchin adds a unique touch. After the meal, I finally had the coffee I had been looking forward to. It was brewed after I ordered it, using beans from my favorite coffee shop in Abashiri, called "Hazeya Coffee". The coffee was aromatic and incredibly delicious. I ordered the mini size for 250 yen, which was just the right size for after a meal. The restaurant is located on the way from Shari Town to Utoro, just before the "Michi no Eki Utoro Shiretoko". It may not be very noticeable, but I had been passing by it every time without noticing it until now. I checked their website and found out that they are only open from around September to March, as the owner is a sea urchin fisherman. This explains why I never noticed it during the peak tourist season of summer. The pasta and curry dishes have a distinct sea urchin flavor because they use fresh sea urchin directly in the sauce, making the taste of the sea urchin (the taste of the sea) stand out. It was a wonderful discovery of a lovely restaurant that I don't want to share too widely, but at the same time, I want to recommend it to everyone.
