Namboku-cho Nishi Temma "Daisuke Sakaba Stand Basue". There is a stand with 8 counter seats on the 1st floor (non-smoking) and table seats on the 2nd floor (smoking allowed). All seats are smoking allowed at night. Arrived at 11:45 with 2 previous customers. There are hooks under the counter and hangers on the wall. The standout dish is the crispy fried chicken set for 850 yen (rice refill allowed). Although they also offer curry and tuna bowls, 90% of customers choose the fried chicken set! The dish arrives in about 4 minutes. It includes 5 large pieces of juicy fried chicken made with chicken thigh meat. It is crispy on the outside and served hot, with the skin still on. It is delicious eaten as is, or with salt, mayonnaise, or lemon on the side for flavor variation. The hot bean sprout soup is also tasty. The rice is just average, but the portion and taste for 850 yen are fantastic. The 2nd floor has spacious table seating, but it is a smoking area. I was the only female customer, with mostly male customers. Many regulars seem to frequent the place. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, they serve pasta for lunch.

Weekdays are great for having lunch in the business district. Today, I walked around the area near Taiyushoji Temple and ended up here. I was drawn in by the photo of the tuna bowl and immediately placed my order. The atmosphere was a bit calm. It must be lively at night though. In about 7-8 minutes, the tuna bowl arrived. Oh, the portion size looks good. The color of the tuna looks nice. I drizzled some soy sauce and started eating. Mmm, the tuna tastes great. I ate the rice with simmered eggplant first to make some space before digging into the tuna. Mmm, it tastes delicious. Eating the tuna I've been craving, it feels like all my fatigue has melted away. Stand Basue, a popular izakaya in Nishitenma, Osaka. I ordered the seared tuna with garlic soy sauce, fried corn with burnt butter soy sauce, grilled shishito peppers with bonito flakes, and curry (just the roux). I always rely on this place for lunch. They also have curry lunches, but their recommended dish is the fried chicken! It's freshly fried, generous in portion, and juicy. It comes with salad, soup, and rice for only 700 yen, which is a great deal. Once things settle down, I definitely want to try going there at night.

This place was thought to be a standing bar, but they actually have seats available. The first floor is mainly counter seating, while the second floor is often used for private parties. Even though I arrived 5 minutes before opening, they still let me in. The staff were very friendly and you can easily enjoy conversations even if you're alone. The menu caters to both food and drinks, with reasonable prices similar to standing bars. It's a popular spot with many reservations, so they were already at full capacity when I arrived. According to regular customers, it's always crowded and packed. The convenience, customer service, and atmosphere were all great, so I will definitely visit this place again.

I happened to pass by around noon and entered the restaurant. It seems that they only serve lunch on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The restaurant is mainly focused on evening business, hence the name "Stand." There is a counter and seating on the second floor. The clientele, perhaps due to the presence of a major newspaper company nearby, seemed to be very informed and sociable. While I have been to many dining establishments, I have noticed that places where such people gather have a certain charm. When I visited, the limited tuna bowl was already sold out. They offered two types of curry and a fried chicken set. After me, several groups of guests arrived and all ordered the fried chicken set. It consisted of five small fried chicken pieces, coleslaw, seaweed soup, and rice. The fried chicken was similar to Karaage, light and not too garlicky. I couldn't help but feel a bit overwhelmed by the portion size, even as a big eater. It seemed like there were many regular customers based on the conversations between the staff and guests. This restaurant has a charm that seems to have won over the regulars who may be keeping it a secret.

It's lunchtime and I visited this place for lunch. The visit was last year, so it's a newly opened store. I quickly went inside. It looks like a good place for drinking at night. Today's lunch dish was great. I enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal!
