There is a special clumsy guy among our group of friends. Although there was a movie a long time ago where Yashimaru Hiroko sighed and said "Clumsy detective," directed at Yuji Matsuda, you don't hear any particularly sigh-worthy scandalous stories about him. So, today, the attendance of Chief Su, who came from Shanghai, ended up with just me and my colleague Fukuyama. The clumsy guy, Nishijima, is in the hospital due to acute alcoholism from heavy drinking the night before. Fukuyama and I reluctantly accepted his absence, thinking it felt like a college freshman welcome party. Fukuyama, feeling apologetic towards me during the summer break, called for a meeting. The day before, Chief Su, who managed to handle the interpreter somehow, seemed to be getting tired from attending and training. Today, we finally had a relaxing meal without an interpreter, just Japanese food, and it seemed like they were relaxed (or maybe it just looked that way). I arrived about 15 minutes late (I was flustered trying to hand over my house key to KYOKO-san and RinNon). They were already choosing from the menu. For some reason, it was a private room. It was my first time at KICHIRI, and it was very stylish. I wonder why they went to such lengths for Chief Su (sorry). The staff were all beautiful, and the room was stylish, but I wonder what the concept is... While eating fried potatoes, chicken cutlet, and crab cream pasta (among other things) and conversing with Chief Su in Chinese... I was reminded of the past for a while. About half of the employees who were there at that time are no longer there, which is common in job-hopping China, and it's tough for Japanese companies in China. I was speaking English to fill in the blank of not speaking Chinese for a while, and communication was going smoothly... It was kind of strange. But Chief Su seemed to be relaxed, which was good. Chief Su's husband has been unemployed for a long time but has been trading at home, earning more than our monthly salary. I heard that the stock market has been down in Shanghai for a while, but with proper management, combining a little income here and there is enough to get by. The momentum in Shanghai doesn't seem to be stopping... My Chinese stocks are not returning to their original value, though. Tomorrow, I will have dinner with other colleagues from a different department who came on a business trip from Shanghai. Therefore, the attendance will officially end today, and Chief Su, exhausted from a intense week, chuckled. Thank you for your hard work. When I looked up the origin of the restaurant name KICHIRI on the internet, it seems to be the childhood name of Cao Cao from the Three Kingdoms. Kichi. I feel like it was "Aman" as well... Maybe there were multiple meanings? So, bringing Chief Su here for attendance doesn't seem like a bad idea, considering the China connection... Aside from the incident with Nishijima, who developed acute alcoholism. ★ KICHIRI Moriguchi Ekimae Store Moriguchi City Honmachi 1-5-8 Keihan Moriguchi Building 1F 06-6998-3788 http://www.kichiri.com/sites/moriguchishi-ekimae/index.html
