First visit in July 2021 (No.2875). I visited here to pick up some sushi ingredients in the Ginza area. This place is a famous tamagoyaki shop in Tsukiji, but originally it was a sushi restaurant established in 1924. However, due to the food control after the war, they transitioned to a tamagoyaki shop in 1946. Since opening in the Mitsukoshi Ginza store in 1983, they have actively expanded into department stores, making it possible to get delicious tamagoyaki without going to Tsukiji! I bought the Matsutake Tamagoyaki for 368 yen, which is the product that led the sushi restaurant to become a tamagoyaki shop. It is said to have the same taste as it did when it was first established, with a subtle sweetness and a strong dashi flavor. It was indeed a delicious tamagoyaki with a mild sweetness and a distinct dashi flavor. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I'm going to buy dinner, and as usual, I will stop by Mitsukoshi. I'm getting a little tired of the usual options, so I decided to try something different. I saw Matsutake's Negi-tama sandwich, which I had never tried before, so I bought it. The sweet broth seeps gently into the well-cooked egg, creating a juicy texture. The strong presence of the finely sliced negi adds a nice touch. The crispy texture of the negi serves as an accent to the sandwich.

My mother always says it's the taste of home, so I decided to go back to basics and try the truffle sand and the plain one. After trying various types like fluffy, sweet, and spicy, I always come back to this one. It has a firm and crispy texture, a rich umami flavor. It's just so delicious, probably because it was the first time I recognized the thick omelette sandwich was from this place. That's why I crave it from time to time. It's labeled as "mother's taste," and indeed, it's the kind of taste that makes you want to come back. Our omelette dishes at home never had sugar in them, so maybe that's why.

It was too late - I really wanted to eat an egg sandwich! I went to Mitsukoshi department store with full intention to eat, but to my surprise, they were sold out at 5:30 in the evening. What a disappointment! I came to buy some late-night snacks, so I didn't want anything heavy. I wandered around looking at sushi rolls, pork cutlet sandwiches, and tempura, but nothing really caught my eye. In the end, I went back to the store and bought a cube snack to take home, my mouth was really craving that egg sandwich. Sweet and juicy eggs. Our egg omelets don't have sugar, so it's a different kind of fresh taste, more like a snack than a main dish.

Today's lunch plan was to eat out, but due to work constraints, lunchtime was shortened... I ended up buying something outside and eating it at the workplace. I decided to try the "Truffle Sandwich" from Tsukiji Matsutake that I had been curious about for a while. It is a sandwich made with tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelette) from a tamagoyaki shop. When it comes to sandwiches with tamagoyaki, I remember the "Corona Tamago Sandwich" I had in Kyoto at Madrag. It was made with freshly cooked, fluffy, thick tamagoyaki with a rich broth flavor sandwiched between bread. I wonder what the truffle sandwich tastes like. Since it was made with fresh tamagoyaki, it was being sold chilled in the refrigerator. It's a sandwich with a thick tamagoyaki sandwiched between bread. When I tried it, the sweet tamagoyaki and bread paired really well! The bread was spread with karashi (Japanese mustard) mayonnaise, adding a kick of spiciness from the karashi and acidity from the mayonnaise to the sweet tamagoyaki. I learned that bread and sweet tamagoyaki go really well together! It was delicious. Next time, I want to try a sandwich with freshly cooked tamagoyaki.

Colorful dining table I was asked to do New Year's shopping and headed to Ginza! I got off at Shimbashi and had some parco noodles at 11 o'clock, then glanced at the long line at Tonkatsu Umebayashi on my way to Mitsukoshi! I lined up for tempura at Tenichi, bought some truffles, chicken, and egg rolls, then left! It's really crowded on New Year's Eve! Now, let's take a walk to Takasago in Tsukishima!

I visited Hashigo, a plum grove, after 12 o'clock. Just as I got off the escalator underground, there was a sign for Matsutake at the end. There were about 5 people waiting, but I was able to purchase without much waiting. Since the department store basement is crowded at the end of the year, I left early. I took the subway from Ginza 1-chome to Takasago!

After finishing shopping at Ginza Chocolat, it was exactly noon. I asked the store staff if there were any good bento boxes or side dishes to try at Ginza Mitsukoshi, and they recommended a sandwich with rolled omelette. I bought it for lunch and ate it while waiting for my appointment at a women's medical college in the afternoon. I had seen on TV that traditional Tokyo omelette shops often add sugar, and after trying it, I realized it was true. While in Hokkaido, omelettes are not as sweet (some are quite sweet), the balance of sweetness and umami was just right and not overwhelming. It was interesting to see the differences in food culture, and I enjoyed the sandwich with a thin layer of mayonnaise on the bread, which enhanced the saltiness and richness. Food culture differences are truly fascinating.

The nearest department store is in Ginza. When I went to Ginza to look for sashimi, it was a pedestrian paradise on Sunday. I bought sashimi and tamagoyaki at Mitsukoshi. I was able to buy tamagoyaki at the outer market in Tsukiji on Wednesday. The sweet tamagoyaki is a favorite of toddlers. I also bought the recommended truffle at the store. My husband likes to eat this sweet tamagoyaki with a little soy sauce drizzled on top.

I had the opportunity to eat this egg sandwich before and was quite impressed. Well, it's more like an egg omelette sandwich. I purchased it from the department store in Ginza Mitsukoshi. The idea of sandwiching sushi restaurant-style egg omelette with mayonnaise between bread is fantastic. Although similar sandwiches are now sold in other stores, I still prefer this Matsutake's egg omelette sandwich the most. When I returned home excitedly, my expectations were met. The perfect sweetness of the egg omelette and the flavor of mayonnaise connecting the bread. There is nothing like this combination. I feel like everyone becomes happy when they eat it. I think both children and adults would like it. It seems that this shop has also developed versions with chili pepper mixed in recently. I still prefer the plain one, but I also feel like trying the new versions a little bit.

I've devoted myself to my wife, so tonight it's alcohol time! I chose tamagoyaki as a side dish. It's a popular assorted pack of four types: truffle, spicy, tobiko, and eel roll. The eel roll is a limited edition at the Ginza store... Feeling a little lucky.

Tsukiji's famous tamagoyaki shop, Matsutake. They also have a branch on the 2nd floor of Ginza Mitsukoshi. I saw it on TV before and was curious about their egg sandwich, so I bought it for lunch. Matsutake Sandwich - 648 yen The thick tamagoyaki is quite substantial. When you hold it, it feels heavy! When you take a bite, you can feel the moisture from the dashi in the egg, making it moist and delicious. The sweetness of the tamagoyaki is balanced well by the bread. The mayonnaise also complements it nicely. I was a bit skeptical if this small size would be enough for lunch, but as the weight suggests (lol), it was surprisingly satisfying and filled me up. It could be a good snack to bring along for outings. Thank you for the meal!

Now, what should I have for dinner tonight? As I wandered around the department store basement, I noticed a few people stopping and looking at or buying something. An elderly person said, "Elderly people find it easier to buy something with four different flavors rather than just one big one," and I agree. I know that the egg sandwich here is delicious, but... everyone wants to try different things. Especially for elderly people living alone, it would be better to have a variety of flavors to enjoy over several meals rather than the same thing every time. I remember seeing a seasonal limited edition set with four flavors to compare in the past, and I wish they were available regularly. As I enjoyed the egg omelette with overflowing delicious broth for dinner, I couldn't help but think, "I want to try other flavors too." If they had a taste comparison set, I would definitely go buy it. Thank you for the meal!

Theme: Delicious Depachika☆:・゜*・:★(30)Category: Takeout Deli & New Year's Osechi Located in the treasure trove of delicious food that is Tsukiji, there is a specialty tamagoyaki shop called "Tsujiki Matsutake" that is famous for its high-quality tamagoyaki that egg lovers cannot resist. Ever since I tried it before, it has been registered as one of my favorites. The tamagoyaki sandwich made with "Tsukiji Matsutake" tamagoyaki is something I read about in a magazine and really wanted to try. And then, the other day, I found it at Ginza Mitsukoshi's "Tsukiji Matsutake"☆ (Excited) Tsukiji Matsutake * Matsutake Sandwich 648 yen The package says, "A tamagoyaki sandwich filled with plenty of dashi-infused matsutake, just like the taste of a tamagoyaki shop owner's mother." Exciting. I had it during the intermission at Kabuki-za, so I apologize for the not-so-great photo. I should have at least taken the plastic off before taking the picture (> <). It is filled with thick dashimaki tamago with "matsutake." The spicy mayonnaise gives it a sophisticated taste, perfect for adult tamago sandwich. The deliciousness that egg lovers cannot resist☆ My husband and I shared one each, but I wanted to eat them all. The cost performance is not great, but because I love eggs and it's delicious, I forgive it^^

In December 2014, I had a half-size truffle for 410 yen. Today, I had tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelette) in Ginza. I visited Tsukiji Matsuro (Shouro) at the Ginza Mitsukoshi store located on the 2nd floor of the Ginza Food Garden. I ordered the half-size truffle tamagoyaki, which was priced at 411 yen but I was charged 410 yen. I took a bite and it was juicy with just the right amount of sweetness, incredibly delicious. They also have a type with plum and minced meat which I would like to try next time. A place in Tsukiji that specializes in delicious tamagoyaki, perfect as a snack or a side dish.

Famous Truffle Tamagoyaki. I wanted to try it once, so I went to the Mitsukoshi department store's basement shop, where there were various flavors like plain, seasonal limited edition duck, matsutake, etc., and I couldn't decide. The set recommended by the staff that I purchased included Sakura shrimp, ground chicken, shirasu, and pickled plum flavors, each in small portions. When I got home, I tried them! The Sakura shrimp and ground chicken were delicious. The pickled plum flavor was unusual and I didn't quite understand it. The shirasu was a bit like kamaboko and was my favorite. I haven't tried the standard tamagoyaki yet, so I want to try a different set next time. Thank you for the meal.

The famous dashimaki tamago shop "Matsutake" in Tsukiji is a place I've always wanted to try! While walking through the basement floor of Ginza Mitsukoshi, I suddenly came across it... Oh, Matsutake? I didn't know it was here in the department store! I decided to purchase it right away. Since it was my first time, I wanted to try various flavors... but I couldn't pass up Matsutake. I found a set of four flavors - Matsutake, Tobitama, Charol, and Komaki. Matsutake was a sweet dashimaki tamago, similar to the egg rolls that used to be in my bento box. It was nostalgic and delicious. Tobitama was made with plenty of high-quality seaweed, giving it a nice ocean flavor. Charol was a mixture of fish paste and eggs, like a Datemaki. It was sweet and tasty. Komaki seemed to be a half-size version of the classic Matsutake, but it had a slightly stronger dashi flavor. I think this set is great because you can try different flavors with a small amount. I would also like to try the spicy version with red pepper flakes!

I bought delicious tamagoyaki for sandwiches. It's juicy, so I spread plenty of mayonnaise on the bread. They also sell sandwiches here, but I bought Ginza bread, so I made my own sandwich.

Title: "Cooking Saint" There is a famous tamagoyaki shop called "Tsujiki Matsutake" with its main store in Tsukiji. Originally a sushi restaurant, it became known for its tamagoyaki cooked in front of the store after the war, which then became its main business. You can find an outlet in the basement food section of Mitsukoshi in Ginza. (Photo) An eel-wrapped tamagoyaki. Tamagoyaki with nori seaweed. Tamagoyaki with mentaiko. And the simple tamagoyaki from Matsutake. "The key is the traditional dashi flavor." Each and every one of them is cooked so evenly and moist, it's truly impressive. I am not a tamagoyaki artisan like the cooking saint, so I cannot cook as skillfully as this. Among these, the mentaiko tamagoyaki was interesting, perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spiciness. The prices are honestly not cheap, but the taste definitely makes you want to come back for more. Smoking Rating: ★★★★★ The floor itself is non-smoking, so there is no smoke. Solo Diner Rating: ★★★★★ No issues at all.
