Today, May 11th, is the 1st anniversary of Nagae-san, so I had a special anniversary menu today. It was a one-plate dish packed with delicious and popular items such as miso kushikatsu, tuna sashimi, chicken wings, egg salad, and even a special item not usually on the menu, seaweed roll! The seaweed roll, which is not usually on the menu, was delicious! Thank you for the feast. I will definitely come back.
It has been over six months since I last visited, and even longer for my husband. Today, we tried a new sake selection. They mentioned that they will be expanding the types of sake in the future. Looking forward to it! We enjoyed the dried squid and bonito sashimi. Sake really does go well with "fish."
Today, my husband is having a mid-term celebration, so I am having dinner alone. On days like this, I like to relax and enjoy a place where I can drink and eat comfortably, so I dropped off my work clothes and belongings at home before visiting. It was past 8 pm on a Friday night, and the L-shaped counter was almost full. Since the table was available, I decided to enter boldly, and a regular customer kindly offered to share a seat at the counter. This kind of warm atmosphere where regulars gather is the charm of this restaurant. Today, they had introduced a new "autumn-winter menu," which included oden. The light broth was just right and went well with the sake. I hope they will also have a miso stew flavor in the future. Also, today they had "horse sashimi" available. It was recommended by everyone there, so I decided to try "horse meat (sashimi)" for the first time. It was tender, without any smell or strong taste, and had a slight sweetness. Delicious! They provided both ginger and garlic, but I found that the garlic balanced well with the meat's flavor. Drinking the remaining oil with sake was pure bliss. Looking forward to trying the upcoming dishes like the one-person oyster hot pot. With the season getting better for sake, it's exciting!
Visited again in July. "Nagae" has already become our second dining room. Since they started serving fish dishes as the daily recommendation, I have become even more of a fan. During the Bon Festival, they served fresh octopus sashimi and marinated whole squid! A unique dish with whole squid instead of firefly squid!! I was impressed. The sake was going down smoothly. Last time, they said, "We have a rare and good sake today," and they brought out "Joushin Jyuhachi." I tried it for the first time. I had it with bonito tataki. Every time I go, there's always a little surprise waiting, which makes it fun. Next time, I will go for lunch!
I am not good at cooking, so I would like to ask someone who can cook deliciously on my day off. I can't rely on my husband, so I'm always looking for a place that serves delicious food and sake at a reasonable price. Today, I visited a recently opened restaurant. I lived in Nagoya when I was young, and my husband's first branch was the Nagoya branch, so we were drawn to the "Nagoya taste." As expected, they had fried chicken wings, spaghetti with sauce, miso katsu, shrimp fry tempura, and even dishes like red bean toast and eel hitsumabushi! Recently, they also have a daily recommended menu! The simmered mackerel I had today was amazing. All the dishes have a slight taste of a traditional Japanese restaurant, which is pleasing. The portions are elegant but most dishes are under 500 yen, so you can have two drinks each and two dishes each for 2500-3000 yen. It's nice to be able to go back multiple times for dinner at this price range. They provide chopstick holders, saucers, and warm towels along with the menu, which shows their attention to detail and care.
