Monja from Tsukishima, Tokyo. It had been a few years since I last had monja-yaki. When I passed by the restaurant around 3 o'clock, there was already a line. I took a chance and decided to come back around 6 o'clock for dinner. As expected, there was still a line, but I really wanted to eat monja-yaki so I waited. Surprisingly, the line moved quickly and I was able to enter the restaurant in about 30 minutes. I ordered squid yakisoba, mentaiko mochi monja with cheese topping, and added ikasumi monja with lemon topping. The squid yakisoba was seasoned with liver, soft, and incredibly delicious. It had been a while since I last had monja-yaki, but it was still delicious! The mentaiko mochi with cheese was undeniably tasty. Every table seemed to have ordered it. The ikasumi monja had rice in it and was a perfect way to finish the meal. It had a rich flavor. Despite being called ikasumi monja, it also had octopus in it (laughs). I want to come back again.

I visited the restaurant at Lucua, located near Osaka Station, during lunchtime. The spacious interior had table grills where they served various dishes such as:
- Iron plate monja with plenty of cabbage, priced at ¥1738
- Cheese topping for an additional ¥300
- Whole grilled squid with liver soy sauce for ¥1408
- Clam and mushroom ajillo with bread for ¥1540
- Mochi yakisoba for ¥1408
- Oolong tea for ¥330
The staff cooked the dishes in front of us, using lots of cabbage and finely chopping the ingredients for the monja. The live cooking experience was exciting, and the squid with liver soy sauce was delicious. The monja with cabbage, mentaiko, and melty cheese was a perfect match with the crispy rice cakes and cheese. The ajillo was cooked in a small pot on the iron plate, with the clam's umami flavor blending well with the oil and mushrooms. The mochi yakisoba, made with thin noodles and Chinese broccoli, was seasoned with ponzu and sesame oil for an Asian-inspired flavor.
With a variety of menu options, this restaurant is perfect for enjoying with drinks.

- Mentaiko Mochi Monja with Cheese Topping
- Grilled Whole Squid with Liver Soy Sauce
- Squid Ink Monja
I tried these three dishes and they were all delicious, and they go really well with alcohol! Especially, the Grilled Whole Squid with Liver Soy Sauce has a rich flavor and is my favorite.

I waited in line from 2:00 and was seated after about 30 minutes, but then the food didn't come, and the grill chef didn't show up... even though more and more customers kept coming in, creating a bad cycle. It took 2 hours until the last dish was served. The service was polite and the food was delicious, but I'll need courage to go there again. ◆Grilled whole squid with liver sauce ★★★ ◆Mentaiko mochi monjayaki + large shiso leaf ★★★ ◆Squid ink monjayaki ★★★★ ◆Mochi and pork belly yakisoba ★★★★ ◆Seafood garlic rice ===========

Not only Monja, but also Yakisoba, Garlic Rice, and Hanpen are all cooked right in front of you on the hot plate. Everything was delicious! It was a bit slow for the dishes to arrive, probably because it's a popular place. The Yakisoba was thin and chopped up, mixed with Garlic Rice, and topped with sauce on the table. It was quite tasty like a sobameshi.

Osaka Station, on the restaurant floor of Lucua, we were able to slide in without much waiting for the second rotation, about an hour after opening. We were seated at the front in about 5-10 minutes. I chose the popular mentaiko mochi with cheese topping and okonomiyaki. I ordered a side of kimchi with my draft beer, expecting to wait a while. It was my first time eating okonomiyaki outside, and it was delicious. However, even after finishing the okonomiyaki, the yakisoba did not arrive (I would think yakisoba would come first). I had to remind them to bring it out. Watching the operation with 9 people, it seems like they may not have enough staff given that all dishes are cooked in front of you. The size of the restaurant, the number of grills, the style, the tables that were not cleared, and the people waiting outside - a smaller restaurant may be more suitable. The bill for two people came out to 7,060 yen, and we enjoyed the meal. Thank you for the meal.

I visited around 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, and there were over 10 people waiting outside the restaurant. It took about 20 minutes to get a table due to the large number of seats. However, once inside, it was difficult to get the attention of the staff because there were no call buttons on the tables and the restaurant was noisy and crowded with young customers. It was hard to place an order or ask for drink refills. The staff seemed nice and the food was delicious, but I don't want to go back again. It would be better if they had call buttons installed. Overall, it was disappointing in terms of restaurant management.

I visited during lunchtime. It was a weekday but the restaurant was very crowded, showing how popular it is. I ordered two types of monjayaki and a whole grilled squid. The portion was just enough for three people. The monjayaki was really delicious. I especially recommend the one with umetako (plum and octopus), it was so tasty! (I forgot the exact menu name...) I would like to visit again at night next time.

I suddenly felt like eating monjayaki, so I came here. I always see a long line, so today I arrived 5 minutes after opening. But it was already full. I was so impressed by how delicious monjayaki was in Nagoya. This time, I shared it with two friends. Ika-yaki was my first time trying it. It's so delicious. It goes well with beer. I had the mentaiko cheese & squid ink cheese. The staff was friendly and chatted with us while cooking. It's been a while since I felt good about the customer service at a restaurant. It was delicious. I will visit again.

Revisited. Only listing things different from last time. [Grilled Buttered Oysters] 1,672 yen Four large oysters from Miyagi Prefecture. They are quite thick and do not shrink when grilled, with a firm and bouncy texture. The size is satisfying, so you can't help but get excited when they arrive. [Sumo Wrestler Meat Miso Cucumber] 638 yen Cucumbers eaten with meaty miso that tastes like garlic. The miso flavor is subtle, so it's not spicy. [Corn Silk Tea] 300 yen Corn silk tea. It had a strange sourness, and tasted very bad... Last time I had it, it was just a normal delicious corn silk tea, so I wonder what this sourness is about. The taste of the swordfish was not as good as last time, perhaps due to a different chef. The okonomiyaki had the same taste, but I got bored halfway through the second time. It's recommended to visit right after opening on weekdays when there is less of a line. However, there are few staff members, so service, ordering, and payment can be slow.

Tokyo Tsukishima's popular restaurant #expands to Western Japan for the first time ✨ A seafood wholesale store directly managed by Tsukiji and Toyosu Market. "Tsukishima Monja Moheji" opened in December last year on the 10th floor of Lucua Osaka! ... First, try the famous #mentaiko mochi monja with cheese and shiso topping. It was my first time trying monja yaki and it was delicious!! The burnt rice was perfect. We also added #Moheji yakisoba with pork belly, bean sprouts, and bok choy with their homemade soy sauce. This was also an addictive taste. The staff comes to the table and prepares everything from start to finish, so all you have to do is enjoy the finished dish ♡ By the way, this was on a Sunday. Since reservations are not accepted, we arrived 15 minutes early at 10:45 and there was already a long line, but we were able to get in on the first round! The staff confirmed the number of people and brought the menu, then we received a seat card. It is recommended to go early as there was still a long line even after we finished eating ♡

I woke up and immediately watched the Edomae Elf Monja, so the image of Monja didn't leave my mind. I debated between the spicy cod roe mochi monja, which Elder likes, but since I had it last time, I chose the squid ink. I arrived at 10:40 and there were 12 people waiting. By 11:00, there were over 10 people behind me. By 11:15, all tables were full. About 80% were middle-aged women. I tried Hoppy for the first time. I won't say it's bad, but I don't see the value other than being "retro." According to the Hoppy official, the way it's served here seems to be considered unorthodox as they recommend chilling the glass instead of adding ice because it could compromise the flavor. The mildly spicy green chili soy sauce pickled in vinegar was delicious! The squid cooked in liver soy sauce was delicious! The squid ink itself had moisture so it didn't get crispy like burnt rice, but it was quite delicious! The garlic rice had quite a bit of bean sprouts and had a completely different feel than a steakhouse, but it was also delicious! Monjayaki restaurant on the 10th floor of LUCUA1100.
- Shirasu and Oba Tomato Salad: ¥968
- Edamame Garlic Teppanyaki: ¥528
- Kajiki Maguro Garlic Steak: ¥1628
- Mentaiko Mochi Monjayaki: ¥1738
- Jasmine Tea: ¥300
The tomato, shirasu, and oba salad is refreshing with a ponzu flavor. The edamame teppanyaki is cooked by yourself with garlic butter and pepper. The kajiki maguro steak is cooked by the staff and is recommended to be eaten rare. The mentaiko monjayaki is creamy and delicious, especially without the baby star ramen topping. The jasmine tea is average. The restaurant is popular with long lines, so be prepared to wait. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable. The restaurant is spacious and has an open feel.

Met up with a friend at 1:00 and had to wait in line for about 30-40 minutes, perhaps because it was a weekday. It was my first time trying Monjayaki, so we ordered the most popular dish, Mentaiko Mochi Monja with cheese topping! They also had a variety of teppanyaki dishes, and since I love vegetables, we ordered that too. They teach you how to cook and eat it, so if you find that bothersome, you might not enjoy it, but the taste was amazing! Apart from the wait time, I have no complaints. For those who are concerned about their clothes smelling, the staff will spray Fabreze for you on your way out.

I tried the new monjayaki restaurant at LUCUA♡ It's rare to find a monjayaki place in Osaka! I waited in a long line for an hour, but the food came out quickly. Everything is cooked on the hot plate by the staff. The monjayaki was delicious, and the seafood fried rice-like dish was amazing. It was a great experience enjoying monjayaki after a long time! I'm interested in trying other monjayaki dishes, so I want to go back again soon. ♥

I went to eat monjayaki at Tsukishima Monja Moheji for lunch on the 10th floor of LUCUA Osaka in Umeda, Osaka. I've always wanted to try Tsukishima Monja. First, I ordered the mentaiko mochi monja with cheese topping, recommended by the staff. For the second one, I ordered the pork kimchi monja with toppings of leek, cheese, and additional pork. The staff cooked it for me quickly, and it was ready in no time. I enjoyed the crispy rice at the bottom. While waiting, I couldn't resist and started eating before it was fully cooked. It was delicious. The chicken seseri as a side dish was also tasty. I will definitely go back again. Thank you for the meal! by @mirai_happy. Tsukishima Monja Moheji, LUCUA Osaka 10th floor.

"Moheji," located in Tsukishima, Tokyo, landed in Osaka at the end of last year. It is on the 9th floor of Lucua, and there is always a long line. I entered as soon as it opened on Sunday. Actually, I lined up 20 minutes before opening. There were 5 groups waiting in front of us. First, I tried the recommended mentaiko mochi cheese. I also added seafood ajillo, tonpeiyaki, and gomoku monjayaki, and I was full ^ - ^ Each dish met my expectations. The waitress at our table was very friendly, which made me happy♪

The staff cooks the monjayaki right in front of you on a hot plate, which was a fun experience since it was my first time trying this dish. However, the wait time was quite long. We waited for almost 2 hours from around 6 pm before finally getting seated at 8:30 pm. We placed our order for two dishes, and the first one arrived at 9 pm. It took about 15 minutes to cook and was delicious. We finished eating by 9:20 pm. However, the second dish never came. After waiting for 40 minutes, I asked the staff at 10 pm, and they blamed the delay on the busy crowd. But it was clear that they had forgotten about our order, as other customers who came later than us had already received their second and third dishes. We finally got our second dish at 10:15 pm. When we wanted to order dessert, we were told that the kitchen had closed for orders, even though the drink orders were still being taken. We left at 10:40 pm feeling frustrated. The staff offered to spray Fabreze after we paid, but we declined. In summary, the wait was long, the excuses were poor, and the service was disappointing. The food was tasty, the teppanyaki performance was nice, and the prices were fair. However, due to the poor system and service, neither I nor my companion have any desire to return to this restaurant.
