Kenshin, located near Temma Bridge Station, has started serving lunch on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays starting in September. They are known for their delicious charcoal-grilled dishes, so you can expect a tasty grilled fish set for lunch. I arrived at the restaurant around 11:45 am and luckily found one last seat available at the counter without having to wait. The restaurant has 6 counter seats and 2 table seats, with the table seats requiring sharing with others, but the tables are spacious enough for 6 people. In front of my seat at the counter, there were horse mackerel, saury, mackerel, and hokke lined up, and when I requested hokke, they started grilling it right in front of me. It takes about 10 minutes to grill from raw, but the freshly grilled fish is worth the wait. Hokke was grilled beautifully and tasted delicious. I enjoyed the flavorful hokke, and the rice served was also very tasty. The miso soup was clam soup, lightly seasoned and full of delicious dashi flavor. This restaurant is a great place for fish lovers to enjoy a delicious grilled fish set meal for only 800 yen.

On a Saturday evening, as I walked along the Yotsubashi Street towards Temmabashi Bridge, I came across a familiar name written on a shop sign. The sign read "Kenjin," and I remembered that there was a shop with the same name on the second floor of the Ajiwai Building one street west of here. Recently, my memory has been a bit fuzzy, so I wondered if I remembered correctly, and there was a notice posted indicating that the shop had moved here. Going down to the basement, I found the entrance to the shop on the left, and when I peeked inside, it seemed I was the first customer of the day at around 5:30 pm on a Saturday. I ordered a draft beer from the owner and looked through the menu, which mostly had dishes priced at 400 yen each. The more expensive dishes were listed on the right, which was reassuring. The salt-seared pork cutlet I ordered first was seared with a burner to bring out the flavor of the fresh pork, and eating it with wasabi and salt made the slightly warm meat even more delicious. The salted mackerel I ordered next had a crispy skin and paired perfectly with beer. I then switched from beer to sake and enjoyed a delicious meal of sazae (turban shell), potato salad, and sweet and sour pork with the robatayaki grilling. The atmosphere of the shop was calm and cozy, being located in the basement, making it just right for enjoying a drink alone. However, there were also tables for six inside, making it suitable for group gatherings as well.

Delicious. The local sake in the 800 yen series is delicious. There is also a 600 yen series. The morning chicken Karaage is exquisite. I want to pack it up and take it home. There are six pieces in one serving and I can finish them all in one go. This alone can make you quite drunk. No misses in the dishes. The chef seems to be quite skilled.

The food is very delicious. It would be even better if there was an all-you-can-drink menu.
