Next to the entrance of Temmangu Shrine, there is a low door that you have to bend down to enter. This is the landmark of the shop. I actually stumbled upon this place by chance, but it had a really nice atmosphere. When I quickly slipped through the door, I found a clean interior with only a counter. The master was very friendly and I immediately started choosing dishes. There were plenty of Japanese side dishes, with a focus on vegetables. It felt good! Especially the pork wrapped in pickled ginger was exquisite. I really wanted some sake, but I had to resist this time since I came by car (which was tough...). I couldn't help but be drawn to the alcohol selection, which included sake, shochu, and whiskey. Next time, I'll come by train and take my time. The food was delicious and the cost performance was excellent. I was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

On this day, I got off at Osaka Tenmangu Shrine in the late afternoon to enjoy some drinks in the city, but ended up going to my favorite restaurant "Setta" (*'▽'*). When I arrived, there were no other customers at first. Then, shortly after, a regular customer arrived. And then, a little while later, another regular customer came in. The dishes I had were water eggplant salad, flathead fish sashimi, stir-fried shrimp, island pickled radish tempura, and simmered assorted vegetables. The water eggplant salad had three different flavors to choose from, and I picked olive oil with salt and pepper, which was delicious (^o^). The flathead fish sashimi had a topping of tomato extract gel, which added a nice accent (*'▽'*). The stir-fried shrimp had celery that really stood out (*^ω^*). The island pickled radish tempura was not only delicious, but the three types of salt for flavor variation were irresistible (*'▽'*). Lastly, I ended with simmered assorted vegetables, which showed some kind of dedication in the dish. I was completely satisfied once again on this day (*´∀`)*♪ When you're in the area around Osaka Tenmangu Shrine, this restaurant is definitely recommended♪(๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)*♪

When I checked my eating log, I realized that I haven't visited this restaurant since July 2019. I had various vegetable simmered dishes, hotaruika (firefly squid) and seri (Japanese parsley) and mitsuba (trefoil) egg dish, and octopus and celery salad (forgot to take a picture). As a bonus, I also received potato salad the next day since it was a half day off. The simmered vegetables had a rich flavor without being too heavy. The hotaruika, seri, and mitsuba egg dish was gentle in taste, but the broth from the hotaruika added a nice touch. The octopus salad used boiled octopus which provided a great texture and taste. I thought the komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach) namul was premade, but it was actually made fresh after ordering, and the crunchy texture was delightful. The dishes were all reasonably priced and had a gentle flavor that I really enjoyed.

Second stop in the Nambokucho series. Found this shop while wandering around. The small door was inviting, so we entered. The interior had only a counter, with a calm atmosphere that wasn't bad at all. There were four of us, and we sat at the counter. There were no other customers. We ordered a few dishes like sweet shrimp carpaccio, black wagyu beef tataki, and tonkatsu sandwich. We mainly ordered bottled beer for drinks. We were told we had to order three bottles. Not sure if they really didn't have enough or if they just didn't want to serve bottled beer because it's not profitable. If they intentionally didn't have it, that's just mean. Apparently, they were featured on TV (Gobugobu) in February, but there weren't many customers. The food was honestly average. Not great, but not bad either. The total bill for four people was 6,800 yen. That's cheap! Overall, it was neither good nor bad.

Visited "Maruichiya" in Kyobashi and then returned to Osaka Tenmangu Shrine. The final restaurant for tonight is not open yet, so I decided to head to "Setta" near Osaka Tenmangu Shrine. It's a small restaurant with a tiny entrance. I remembered a fun bar called "Setta" in the same location before. The interior hasn't changed much. It used to be a bar, but now it's a food and drink place with a late-night diner vibe. They have a wide food menu, and the owner is willing to make dishes not on the menu upon request. I asked for spaghetti aglio e olio, and it was delicious. I also ordered a tomato shochu highball. The food was tasty and the portion was generous. I chatted with the friendly owner and then left, feeling satisfied.

In front of Osaka Tenmangu Shrine, there is a small door that serves as the entrance to Setta-san. Inside, you will find a cozy space with a beautiful counter made of a single large wooden plank. The master runs the place alone, creating a relaxing atmosphere. The menu consists of daily specials and regular dishes made with seasonal ingredients such as fish, vegetables, and meat. They offer unique dishes like Japanese-style pizza with fried tofu and Okinawan fu chanpuru. The drink options range from shochu and cocktails to sake and wine. I personally enjoy their chu-hai. They also have dishes like fried rice, making it a good option for both a first and second stop. I look forward to trying more of their menu items in the near future. Additional note: I visited as a second stop on another day and enjoyed wine with potato salad. The menu has expanded and looks delicious, but I was too full to try more. I plan to return for a second chance.

It was an image of a hidden gem izakaya where many female customers visit. The menu ranges from home-style appetizers to unique sashimi dishes, and it changes depending on the season. The prices are reasonable and the master is friendly. It's a great restaurant.

A small shop with a low and small entrance to the left of the main hall of Osaka Tenmangu Shrine. It looks shady and difficult to enter, but once inside, you can enjoy great dishes and good recommendations. Even the small appetizers are well-prepared and delicious. I found a great restaurant.
