The review from May 2016 looks quite good. When I saw the price of the dinner course, I couldn't help but wonder if this was for lunch. The exterior is stylish and the interior has a calm atmosphere. I had the dinner course for 2200 yen (appetizer, fish dish, main, bread, dessert, coffee or tea) and added 500 yen to change the main to red wine stew. I also had sparkling wine (glass) for 1000 yen and white wine for 600 yen. The appetizer included cold bean soup, assorted ham, quiche, potato salad, and beef and radish tartare, among others. The soup was good and the quiche was excellent. The fish dish was seafood curry gratin, which had a unique curry flavor. The red wine stew was tender and the accompanying onions were sweet. The dessert was a combination of pudding, bavarois, matcha ice cream, and white rice cakes with three authentic macarons. The tea was also plentiful. I can only say it was amazing. The chef's calm attitude towards the repeated mistakes of the still inexperienced staff, even in the midst of a busy environment, was admirable. I revisited in September 2016. For my last meal in Kyoto, I chose lunch at Higuchi Tei. It was delicious as expected. There are two options: A lunch for 1000 yen and B lunch with dessert and drink for 1500 yen. Of course, you can choose the main dish. The meal included soup, appetizer, bread, and the main dish was pork curry gratin. Looking back, my time in Kyoto was really enjoyable.
