It's an 8-minute walk from JR Takao Station South Exit. This shop is located inside the shopping mall EAS and has a few table seats where you can relax and enjoy your meal. They sell chocolates, gelato, and shop goods. I bought a triple gelato and chose milk chocolate, vanilla, and milk flavors. The milk chocolate is rich but easy to eat, and it goes really well with the milk and vanilla. It was very delicious.

This is a chocolate shop where you can stop by in between shopping. They offer a variety of chocolates such as bonbons, chocolate bars, gelato, and cakes. The chocolate cake is especially delicious. The prices are reasonable, with a drink included for around 800 yen (they even have chai lattes). A perfect place to take a break. You can choose the cocoa content for the 120 yen chocolate bars, and the cute cat-shaped chocolates that melt into milk are also adorable. It's a great place to pick up souvenirs too!

At "TOKYO FARM VILLAGE," we had lunch and saw some cows. Next, we visited the largest shopping center in Hachioji City, Iias Takao, which opened in 2017. It was my first time here. My daughter and grandchild went to play, so I decided to have a relaxing cup of tea while waiting. I searched for a quiet place to have tea, and although Starbucks was crowded, we found a place with just one group and plenty of space. We chose to sit there. They offered CACAOCAT premium chocolates from Hokkaido, known for their smooth texture and high-quality ingredients. The chocolates are made with a focus on happiness and the authentic taste of cocoa. The artwork on the chocolates features unique cats created through collaboration with artists. The company's president, Shin-ya Tajima, is a renowned entrepreneur who has developed popular bakery chains such as Heart Bread Antique and Neko Neko Shokupan. It's no wonder that their products are filled with innovative ideas and creativity.

After lunch, it's time for dessert, so we headed to this place. I was tempted by the chocolate, but decided to go with gelato today. They had about 16 flavors to choose from, but for my first time at this shop, I went with the milk flavor. The milk gelato here was delicious. I think I just love milk flavor, so anything I eat with it tastes good, but this one wasn't too sweet and was really tasty.

Morning at CACAOCAT in Hachioji Iias Takao is a treat! The parking lot is spacious and free. CACAOCAT chocolates are made in Hokkaido, with options for buying by weight. They serve morning specials until noon, available for both takeout and dine-in. I went right at opening because I wanted to take my time exploring the cat-themed floor. The collaboration with artists resulted in adorable cat illustrations that I couldn't get enough of. For 500 yen (excluding tax), you get a drink of your choice and freshly baked bread. For an extra 100 yen, you can upgrade to a "Chausson aux Pommes" with a bonus chocolate. If you choose to dine in, it's 660 yen including tax for the apple pie. It's the perfect way to start your day with a delicious treat. Even the coffee cups have cute cat scratch marks. You can also choose your chocolate, with raspberry being a standout option. As a cat lover, this place has won my heart!

The chocolate cake in the showcase looked delicious, so I stopped by. They also had gelato, but I was curious about the chocolate cake. After much deliberation, I went with the cake set! With the first bite, it was so delicious!!! Chocolate from a chocolate specialty store usually has a unique flavor, whether good or bad, but here it was just the taste of pure chocolate. It was rich and easy to eat without any strong aftertaste. The coffee didn't overpower the chocolate flavor. Thank you for the meal!

A new chocolate specialty store opened on February 4, 2023, in the former location of "Kajitsu Biyori" on the first floor of EAS Takao. It is a combined store of premium chocolate from Hokkaido, "CACAOCAT," and the first brand to land in Japan from Singapore, "Chocolate Origin." Although it is the first brand to land, it seems that there are about eight other stores besides this one, having landed in Shirokanedai in February 2022. On the opening day, most of the customers were for take-out. I tried ordering the Chocolate Origin chocolate cake and lava cake (chocolat), but they tasted like regular cakes and were not very delicious for the higher price... The gelato had quite a sweetness to it. The previous fruit parlor, "Kajitsu Biyori," closed after about a year and a half, so hopefully, this new store will have better luck...

I don't want to say it too loudly because it might sell out, but the chocolate cake is so delicious that I bought it for takeout twice in March. It's moist, just the right amount of sweetness, and the best chocolate cake I've ever had. I was surprised because I wasn't expecting it to be that good. I haven't tried anything other than the cake and chocolate yet. I'm curious about the gelato too...
