A shop located in a back alley just off the Hakata Ward Office South Exit intersection. I found it while walking and decided to go in. There are only tables, no counter seats. On the table, there were salt, shichimi (seven-spice blend), cabbage sauce, and "Komen shoyu" seasoning. The yakitori plate is served with cabbage underneath, and freshly grilled yakitori is brought to you. Is this serving method unique to Fukuoka? I haven't noticed it in other regions, so if anyone knows, please let me know. The staff were friendly, and there were many keep bottles, making it seem like a shop loved by locals. It's cheap, casual, and the service is good. When I asked before leaving, I found out that the shop has been around for about 8 years, so I can recommend this place. What I ordered is as follows:
- Seizuki Shochu Highball with apple vinegar and a thick slice of lemon floating, delicious.
- Yamaimo (mountain yam) (appetizer) with Komen shoyu, tasty.
- Pork belly miso skewer for 160 yen, chewy and full of flavor.
- Sand liver for 110 yen, small but crispy and delicious with just the right amount of salt.
- Torimomo (chicken thigh) for 140 yen, ordinary but with a wide sweetness and a good charcoal aroma.
- Torikawa (chicken skin) for 110 yen, a Hakata specialty with a nice balance of fat and crispy skin in a sweet and savory sauce.
- Sweet potato foil grilled for 400 yen, basically a baked sweet potato, delicious with black pepper sprinkled on top. The total was 1580 yen. Thank you for reading until the end. If you liked it, please save the restaurant and give it a like. Feel free to leave a comment, and I will reply. I hope this review can be helpful to you in some way.
