Jubilo
Strawberry sweets in full bloom this spring♪ On a weekday during cherry blossom season, I rode my bicycle on Route 163 after shopping. For lunch that day, I visited Fuujin Ramen. Rich and flavorful tonkotsu shoyu ramen and fluffy, gentle pan-fried dumplings. After enjoying ramen and dumplings, as I was about to head home, I spotted a shop near the Kitadera intersection, just 70-80 meters south of Fuujin Ramen. It's a dessert shop, right next to a ramen shop...what a tempting layout! Free parking is available, so you can also come by car without worries. If you're taking the bus, the Terakata Housing Bus Stop or Terakata Hondori 1-chome Bus Stop on the Keihan Bus route is the closest. For train stations, the nearest would be Kawasaki, Nishisansho, or Morisho on the Keihan line, or Shimizu Station on the subway, but it would take about 15-20 minutes on foot from any of these stations. Spring is the season for cherry blossom viewing, and the shop was filled with sweets in cherry blossom and strawberry flavors. I wanted to buy a variety of them, but being a single person living alone, I had to consider the quantity and shelf life. So, I bought about 5 different items to take home. Let's dig in! - Sakura-scented Fluffy Biscuit: Soft and fluffy biscuit with sakura buttercream and white chocolate chips. - Amaou Strawberry Biscuit: Soft biscuit with strawberry buttercream and a balance of sweetness and acidity. - Fleur Chocolat Sandwich: Moist financiers with chocolate ganache, caramel, and amaou strawberry sauce. - Hokkaido Mascarpone Strawberry Roll: Sponge cake with mascarpone cream and strawberries. - Strawberry Milk Pudding: Pudding made with fresh milk and strawberry puree, topped with whipped cream. I thoroughly enjoyed the cherry blossom and strawberry flavors, feeling the spring vibes in both aroma and taste. I realized I haven't gone to see cherry blossoms this year, so I decided to take a walk in the nearby park. Back in Kawasaki, I also visited "Sakurazaka," the famous song by Masaharu Fukuyama. Feeling full and satisfied, I'm thinking of trying their cakes next time. Thank you for the delicious meal. Pink suits me well!
