All the restaurants at Taisho Tag Boat were fully booked. I was originally aiming for a hamburger, so it was fine. I ordered and was told it would take about 30 minutes, so I decided to have a beer first. I wandered around with my beer in hand. Even though I say I wandered around, I had already seen everything in Tag Boat, so I had some spare time. It would have been perfect if the river was more beautiful...! While I was doing this and that, the buzzer rang and my table was ready. Good timing! I asked the cute staff for another beer and it was lunchtime! The hamburger was huge and the meat was delicious! I also ordered onion rings, but I couldn't finish them all. Maybe it's because I had two beers? Eating a hamburger outside in the sunny weather was so delicious! I really enjoyed it.

I have no experience with anything other than chain store hamburgers. Honestly, I thought the trend of oversized, Instagrammable burgers was just a fad. But when the burger arrived, it was almost the size of my face! How am I supposed to eat this?! But then I noticed they provided wrapping paper to prevent spillage, which was a relief. I took a big bite and... the bun was delicious. It was firm with a good chew, but not dry or tough. It had a dense texture that I liked (I'll say it again, I'm a beginner when it comes to burgers). The slight sweetness and strong chewiness created a great contrast. The meat inside was packed tightly and meaty, yet tender, which paired perfectly with the bun. And the fries were also delicious - thick, large, crispy... it was all so good! I feel bad for thinking it was just for show. When you're in the mood for a hearty burger, this place is perfect. I ordered beer and Camembert cheese fries at Seagull Diner. The cheese fries were good, but I wish they had honey instead of ketchup and mustard as a sauce. I also wish they had an even number of pieces, 5 pieces seemed odd. I wanted to try the hamburger as well, but I was just drinking this time so I had to pass. This is a authentic hamburger shop where you order and then get called on a pager when your burger is ready. I tried the cheeseburger and it was delicious - the hamburger patty was juicy and cooked just right, with a good meaty texture. However, the bun was a bit weak and got overshadowed by the burger. It's a bit disappointing as it affects the overall value for money. They do offer the service of cutting the burger in half if you're sharing with someone. The staff on the tag board are all very friendly and helpful!
