I was planning to go to Obihiro, but my grandson said he wanted to go see a Kamen Rider show for an event yesterday, so I thought he wouldn't have time to hang out with me. But then he suddenly said, "Let's play baseball" or "Let's play games," so I ended up arriving late and changing my destination to Kitami. I really wanted to eat ramen today, so there are no restaurants in Kitami where I haven't eaten yet, so I ended up going to Rumoi. Rumoi is technically part of Kitami, but anyway. My grandson said, "You don't have to go see Kamen Rider, let's go eat ramen together," and I was like, "Really?" Oh no, I was planning to eat alone, but it turned into a meal with four people, including my grandson. And now even my older sister and younger sister are coming, what's going on? I'm going to be going around Kitami with six people. Well, I'm grateful, but my eldest daughter's family is going back to Sapporo, so after eating, I will take the two of them back. When we arrived at the place, it was like, "Is this Rumoi?" The cafe-like exterior caught my eye. When we entered, the staff seemed annoyed. It's a big place, but there weren't that many customers, yet they said, "It will take some time." We came all the way to Rumoi, are you going to send us back empty-handed? I mentioned the cafe-like exterior, but it's not really that fancy. There are many table seats and eight table seats in the raised tatami area. I came here to eat ramen, so I stuck to my original plan and ordered the Salt Ramen for 700 yen. My older sister ordered the Scallop Ramen and Risotto. Someone else ordered the ramen, and my eldest daughter's husband ordered the Kitami Salt Yakisoba. My younger sister ordered the Tonkatsu Set Meal, along with my eldest daughter and grandson. Light music was playing. The Tonkatsu Set Meal was the first to arrive, followed by the Doria. The ramen was last, surprisingly. "Is this 700 yen?" The ramen doesn't taste good. The croquette is shaped like a white kidney bean, but it has no flavor and is sweet. Returning to the ramen, the noodles seem to be store-bought. The bamboo shoots have no taste even when bitten. The seaweed is lonely and doesn't add much to the dish. The thinly flavored chashu is slightly seasoned and is better than it looks. The soup lacks any umami or richness and is a far cry from a well-balanced flavor. The Scallop Ramen arrived after I finished eating. It's essentially just Salt Ramen with scallops on top. They probably forgot about it. The Scallop Ramen is just Salt Ramen with scallops added, nothing special. The thickness of the cutlet is impressive, and it's edible because it has some fat, but I was surprised it cost 1,160 yen. I didn't have high expectations, but the Salt Yakisoba turned out to be the most decent dish and matched the photos on the menu. I didn't come all this way to spend gas money to eat the worst food. I'm not saying it's a scam, but it's definitely a scam. Am I not saying that?
