On Monday, there were still shops open around Shari Station. Since we had satisfied our fish cravings with lunch, we decided to have dinner here. When we entered the restaurant, there was one family already dining (another group came later, but the reserved seats sign indicated no other customers). We were seated at the counter. We were given a slip to write down our order and hand it over. We started with draft beer and grapefruit sour, and since we were in Hokkaido, we ordered pork yakiniku. We got Trakalbi with black pork belly, pork cartilage, and my wife wanted to have beef tongue. For vegetables, we ordered onion salad. We grilled the meat on a shichirin. We toasted with Super Dry beer. The onion salad consisted of sliced onions. It was not the sweet, fresh type due to the time of year, but it had a slight spiciness and a crunchy texture, which was delicious. The meat arrived, and there was quite a lot of it. We were provided with lemon juice and homemade raw sauce on a plate. The raw sauce had a lot of grated ingredients, with apple being the base. It was not spicy, but fruity, and it went well with everything. We started with the beef tongue, which was thickly sliced and had a firm texture. But the real star was the black pork belly, which was grilled well over charcoal, sealing in the flavor. The Trakalbi, which was around the pork belly, had less fat and a good texture. The cartilage was grilled to perfection. My wife, who claimed it was her first time trying it, really enjoyed the crunchy texture. We ordered Hoppy with Kinmiya's Shalikin as an additional drink. It was a luxurious combination, with Hoppy costing 280 yen in Tokyo, served in a small bottle, and perfectly complemented by Shalikin. My wife ordered sparkling water. We finished our meal with seafood pancake. It was slightly thick and had squid in it. Instead of the usual sauce, we enjoyed it with the raw sauce, which was generously filled with grated ingredients. It was a satisfying meal, and the total bill for two was only 6600 yen. What a bargain! Thank you for the delicious meal.

It's not very big, but this restaurant had a wide variety of meat and alcohol on the menu, with a lovely smiling mama. Personally, I really liked the sauce, beef sagari, and chijimi! The sauce was sweet and refreshing, and they said it was homemade. I usually eat with salt, but I liked the sauce so much that I even ate the chijimi with it. It's a taste that goes well with rice. The beef sagari was tender even when cooked thoroughly. The chijimi was twice as thick as I imagined, but it was crispy, full of ingredients, and delicious! Personally, I also liked the sweet sake that mama made. The pork tongue in the photo was thick but tender, and the nodokori and tsukene were also delicious. There were many dishes with nagaimo, which I think is a must-visit for nagaimo lovers. (I tried the nagaimo kimchi, but the salad also caught my eye.) They even saw us off to the exit when we left. I will definitely visit again when I come to Shari Kita.

Today's drink is in Shari, a JR drinking trip. I have been traveling to various places, but Shari is almost coming to an end. There are probably less than ten remaining shops. It's difficult to drink in places where JR doesn't pass, so it might be places like Abashiri or Bihoro? I ate at a restaurant run by an old man in Shari and a soba noodle shop. I ate quite a bit, but there is still some time before the JR train. I found a yakiniku restaurant on my smartphone while on the JR train. The snow is falling quite heavily. I brought a beat-up umbrella. It's called "Tora". I wonder why it's called "Tora"? There is no hint of the Hanshin Tigers in the restaurant. It's right behind the Michi no Eki. It's 8:30, but there are many young people at the counter and table seats. I sit at the counter. What number beer is this for today? Cheers. I asked for "kimchi" and "fatty meat", and they said it's the "horumon set", so I ordered that. The lady is a butcher (cook). The smoke was coming out like crazy, and I was completely defeated. The ventilation fan is just above the charcoal grill, so it should be safe for the return JR train, right? But then smoke started billowing out. It was a fake ventilation fan. Is it made of paper mache, like a paper tiger? So that's why it's called "Tora"? There were also chunks of meat that even Maruchow, who is not good with meat, enjoyed. It was delicious with plenty of fat. The smoke was unbearable. I almost missed the JR train. It was an interesting Shari drinking experience.

This is a local yakiniku restaurant that has been around for a long time, but I had never been there before. So, I decided to check it out. It is located next to the parking lot of Michi-no-Eki Shari, and you can easily spot it with a painting of a tiger on the outside. Inside, there are photos of customers lining the walls, and the owner takes a picture of you enjoying your meal as a souvenir (you might even see some familiar faces of local residents in the photos). I ordered a mixed yakiniku platter (pork kalbi, beef kalbi, pork belly, beef chuck flap, pork chuck flap), a mixed horumon platter (pork tongue, special horumon, intestines, heart, kimchi horumon), rice, and pickles. I also ordered bibimbap (I asked for cold bibimbap, but they mistakenly brought out hot stone bibimbap). The juicy bone-in pork kalbi and chewy special horumon were particularly delicious. Gas-grilled meat is good, but nothing beats charcoal-grilled meat. In a recent visit, they had maruchan (round horumon) on the menu. I gave it a try, and it had a melt-in-your-mouth texture and was incredibly delicious.

It was a yakiniku restaurant with charcoal grills. The heat was weak and the meat took a while to cook. The variety of meat was limited and the prices were a bit high for a casual yakiniku restaurant. The restaurant was small with only 4 tables and 5 counter seats, creating a cozy family-like atmosphere. It seemed popular among locals, but it wasn't quite to my liking.
