There was curry bread available. Sangoku is full of unique shops. This shop is also famous for its uniqueness. It seems to have no relation to the famous Anpan shop Kimuraya. It is an old-fashioned bakery quietly continuing in the local area. I'm not sure if they are concerned about unsold items or if they are already selling well, but there are not many breads on the shelves. But there was curry bread available. It's small, but it's only 100 yen so it's reasonable. It's like the nostalgic curry donut.

I walked through the Sangoku Station shopping street in the morning to buy some bread for breakfast. There is a bakery called Kimuraya that sells freshly baked bread. It reminded me of the Nouvelle Kimuraya bakery that appeared in Yoshida Rui's "Sakaba Hourouki" in Nakatsu (although it no longer exists). I didn't ask, but they had Danish pastries for 100 yen each, which looked like curry buns. I bought a pack of three for 120 yen including tax, which is quite cheap. When I ate it, the butter tasted really good, and they had lightly brushed sugar on top. It's delicious and affordable bread for the common people. Thank you for the feast!

I always pass by in the late afternoon, so the selection is limited. Today I was a little earlier than usual so I decided to stop by. Cocoa roll for 130 yen, still not a lot of variety though, but more than usual haha. Curry bun for 100 yen, it's cheaper. Chocolate Danish for 120 yen, almond for 120 yen. Everything has a nostalgic Showa era vibe haha. Both the store and the bread. Maybe if I go in the morning there will be more variety. This was my first time here so even if it's leftovers, everything was new to me haha. Next time, I want to take my time and choose my favorite items to buy.

I had the opportunity to wander around Sangoku Station, so I decided to visit some bakeries. There are three bakeries in this shopping street, and this shop was the third one I visited. There wasn't much energy in the shop, with only one older lady working there and a limited selection of items. I visited in the early afternoon, which may have been a factor. They mainly had side dishes and sweet breads, with very few savory options. I bought a cream bun for 120 yen. Unfortunately, the custard cream inside did not contain any vanilla beans. The taste was just okay, nothing special. Overall, there wasn't anything noteworthy. Thank you for the meal!

The curry bread here is highly recommended. The shop is small and unfortunately, the variety is not very extensive, but as long as there is delicious curry bread, that's all that matters. It tends to sell out quite frequently, but surely it's because it's so delicious! An elderly lady is always running the shop by herself. If you want to try old-fashioned bread, this is the place to go.

An old-fashioned bakery with nostalgic flavors, but delicious. My relative used to mention a bakery called Kimuraya in Nakatsu, but I have never been there.
