I wanted to eat oil soba for the first time in years. I visited the specialty store Kirinji for the first time! I ordered triple noodles and extra meat! Ah! This is what they mean by "simple is best"! Pour plenty of vinegar and chili oil while it's hot! Mix, mix, mix, mix, mix, mix, mix! Mmm! It's delicious! However, because I ordered triple (I eat a lot, haha), I started to get tired of it halfway through (my fault). It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

First attempt at oil soba! I haven't had soup-less noodles since I tried Taiwan-style mixed noodles a long time ago when it was popular. I've always avoided them because I don't like greasy food. I had a late lunch at 5 pm due to being busy with work. As expected, it was not crowded at this time. I used to pass by this place often, but it's usually packed during lunchtime. There were instructions on the wall on how to eat it, so I followed them! The explanation that the oil soba tastes bad when it gets cold made me chuckle a bit! *The recommended way to eat it is shown in the photo. When I asked the staff about the eating method, they recommended mixing the oil and vinegar once around in this season. By the way, they said a stronger vinegar taste is delicious in the summer! My impression after eating it is that it's seriously delicious!! It has a refreshing taste despite the oil! The vinegar is amazing♪ And it's not too sharp. I was so into it that I finished it all in one go! It was just the right amount for someone like me who eats small portions. Generally, I think getting a large serving would be better! I'm thinking of going there again. Thank you for the meal!!

I visited a ramen shop called Kirinji along Sakaisuji. The shop was quite spacious and operated by one person. I ordered the deluxe version of their oil ramen with toppings of meat, kimchi, and a half-boiled egg. The way to eat the oil ramen is to mix in chili oil and vinegar as soon as it is served. The presentation of the dish looked appetizing. I mixed in the chili oil and vinegar, but felt it needed a bit more. Overall, it was tasty but not exceptional. Eating it with the chashu pork enhanced the flavor, and mixing in the half-boiled egg also improved the taste. It was my first time trying oil ramen, and I realized that I prefer pasta, as it uses olive oil which is good for the body (rich in omega-3). However, I later found out on the company's website that they use a cholesterol-free, light oil (rich in omega-3), which made me reconsider. In the end, it comes down to personal preference, but I might still prefer pasta.

This place is located along the main street in Ura Namba, but it always seems to be empty. When I went, I was the only one there. The inside of the restaurant is surprisingly spacious and relaxing. I ordered the regular Abura Soba with a small portion, and I thought the cost performance was just okay. You can get a large portion for an additional 50 yen, so that might be a better choice. The taste is standard, nothing too special, but it's a familiar flavor that you can rely on.

If something sincere doesn't penetrate, the viewer's stomach won't be full. I watched the movie "Nihyaku-san Koudo" which depicts the battle at the 203rd Highland during the Russo-Japanese War in Port Arthur. I felt the precariousness of the policy decisions that would lead to the later Manchurian Incident and the Pacific War. Despite aiming for a quick resolution, the desired results were not achieved, leading to a quagmire. This precariousness arises from ignoring numbers and advancing based on belief. Today, I aimed to visit "Dashi to Komugi no Kanousei" in Nipponbashi, Osaka, which opened on October 15th, but it was too crowded with long lines. I decided to switch to "Kirinji Ura Namba" nearby. I tried the Kimchi Oil Soba for 950 yen. According to official information, it is a ramen dish where freshly boiled noodles are mixed with oil and sauce, without soup. The oil used is surprisingly low in calories and rich in oleic acid and vitamin E, important for maintaining health. It is recommended for those concerned about high cholesterol, weak stomachs, constipation, and lifestyle diseases. The basic menu is something I have eaten many times at other Kirinji locations, so this time I tried the kimchi version. Following the instructions, I poured chili oil and vinegar onto the hot noodles and mixed them. It was oily but not heavy, with a refreshing taste. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. It's healthy but lacks in volume, so adding a lunch set might be a good idea. Strive on the path, sneakily finishing without regrets.

"Giraffe Temple Ura Namba Store" Half-Boiled Egg Oil Ramen 850 yen
Giraffe Temple seems to be multiplying in various places recently. It's a favorite shop of mine, but with so many stores in Namba, it's a bit worrying. Anyway, the usual half-boiled egg oil ramen is delicious. It may not be as good as the main store, but it's consistently good.

Today's lunch was at the newly opened "Kirinji Ura Namba Store" visited last month... The restaurant is located about a 5-minute walk south of Nippombashi Station on the subway Sakaisuji Line. As soon as you enter the entrance, there is a disinfectant and a food ticket vending machine installed. I chose the "Half-boiled Egg Abura Soba (850 yen) + Large Noodles (+50 yen): 210g of noodles" option. It was around 1 pm and the spacious restaurant had 6 previous customers and plenty of empty seats. I handed over the food ticket and waited for about 5 minutes for the order to be ready. The Half-boiled Egg Abura Soba came with toppings such as chashu, half-boiled egg, menma, chopped nori, sesame seeds, and green onions. The medium-thick wavy noodles had a chewy texture, and when mixed well with the smooth soy sauce base with a hint of chili oil and vinegar, it was delicious and easy to eat. It had a rounded and flavorful taste with a slight sweetness. I added some spicy miso halfway through... a small amount added a lot of heat and enhanced the flavor. The menu offers "Abura Soba, Half-boiled Egg Abura Soba, Meat Topping Abura Soba, All Toppings Abura Soba, Kimchi Abura Soba", with options for large, double (+100 yen), and triple noodles (+200 yen). The table condiments include chili oil, vinegar, spicy miso, and TKG soy sauce. The restaurant has 9 counter seats (with partitions) and 5 tables (for 4 people each) managed by one staff member. By the time I left the restaurant around 1:30 pm, more customers had arrived, making it lively.

~Osaka City: Nipponbashi Area~ Specializing in Abura Soba [One Menu Option] I had been wanting to visit this place at least once! I visited during lunchtime, and it was only male customers there haha. The flavor was quite strong, almost making me crave for white rice! It might be good for younger people, but for our generation, it might be a bit too intense...

Just opened recently near Kuromon Market, right across from Namba, is a new restaurant called "Kirinji Ura Namba Store." Despite its name, it's actually located along Sakaisuji Avenue, but calling it Ura Namba seems to be trendy these days. The location name of a store is important, isn't it? "Kirinji" has been expanding through franchise lately. Come to think of it, there's a store in the arcade south of Sakaisuji in Nihonbashi, which is called the Osaka Head Store, so naming this one the Nihonbashi Store might be a bit confusing. The store is clean and new, and I purchased the "Half-Boiled Egg Abura Soba Large for 900 yen" from the ticket machine near the entrance. As you get used to it, abura soba does feel a bit expensive. It still has that junky B-class gourmet feel! For those who love this kind of food, it's irresistible. As for me, being an old man, it's a good occasional treat. Thank you for the meal!

"I visited the newly opened 'Kirinji Ura Namba Store' on June 16th and tried their 'Abura Soba with Half-Boiled Egg (750 yen)'. This shop is a branch of 'Kirinji' located in Nihonbashi, with the nearest station being Kintetsu Nihonbashi Station. The menu includes Abura Soba for 750 yen, Abura Soba with all toppings for 1050 yen, add a half-boiled egg for +100 yen, extra meat for +200 yen, extra noodles for +50 yen, double portion for +100 yen, and triple portion for +200 yen. The sauce is a low viscosity soy sauce-based sauce, combined with vinegar and chili oil on the table, adding a mellow flavor to the half-boiled egg, resulting in a light and refreshing taste. The noodles are made with thick noodles with a wavy texture from 'Takara Sangyo'. The noodles are well coated with the sauce, providing a chewy texture with a good firmness. The chashu pork is tender and well seasoned. There is also spicy miso on the table for those who want to add some heat. If you mention the passphrase that is tweeted on Twitter, you will get a free half-boiled egg as a service."

Abura soba (spicy oil noodles with soy sauce, 750 yen) ★★★☆ Thick curly noodles with toppings such as pork belly chashu, menma, soft-boiled egg, chopped seaweed, and white sesame. This restaurant is a branch of Kirinji located in Nihonbashi, Osaka, which opened on June 16th near Nihonbashi Station. Mix soy sauce with your choice of spicy oil and vinegar, and toss it well with the hot noodles. The noodles are from Takara Sangyo and have a nice firm texture. The small chashu slices are tender and well-seasoned, adding a delicious touch to the dish. You can enjoy different flavors by adding the provided spicy miso or soy sauce. There is a free half-boiled egg service with a Twitter password. Main menu items include Abura soba for 750 yen, with options for extra noodles, extra toppings, kimchi, meat, or all toppings.

I had dinner here. I wasn't familiar with maze-soba, so I was worried it might give me indigestion, but surprisingly it was light and I couldn't stop eating. The chashu and menma were delicious, I added a lot of vinegar and chili oil from the table, along with extra garlic and spicy miso. It was delicious. If I had to say, I prefer thicker noodles. I'd like to try the fried chicken next time.

At Kirinji, I had the oil soba with extra noodles. The perfectly balanced sauce with vinegar and chili oil added to taste. The chewy thick noodles can be fully enjoyed in this simple dish. Delicious.
