When it comes to Rumoi, it was common to visit Shogun or Jyanome and stay at the Kofukantei Ishitei, but this Chobisuke-san really surprised me with the amazing content. 1. On the day I visited, I had a private room. It was quite spacious, and the exterior looked stylish and the interior was clean. If this is just a regular izakaya, it's a luxurious space. 2. Atmosphere and service Since the interior is clean, the atmosphere is also good. The service was also polite. It's amazing. 3. Taste Everything was delicious. As expected, being close to the fishing port in Hokkaido, the seafood and sashimi were delicious! Other dishes that I forgot to take pictures of were also of high quality. 4. Impression There are not many restaurants of this level in Tokyo. Yet, the Tabelog rating is modest. But you don't have to worry about it, the food is really delicious. Rumoi has been facing many sad topics lately, such as population decline, railway closure, and the closing of Kofukantei, but places like Chobisuke-san are definitely bringing in new energy. I hope to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I was on a business trip in Rumoi City and was looking for a place to have a drink and dinner on Tabelog. I found a stylish and delicious-looking restaurant, so I made a reservation and visited. The exterior looked stylish, with a sign behind a lattice, making it hard to tell if it was a restaurant. Inside, there was a stylish atmosphere with a wide selection of famous Japanese sake and Satsuma shochu on the counter and shelves. I was guided to a private room at the back, which was calm and perfect for a relaxing drink. I started with a Sapporo Classic draft beer for a toast. I ordered from the daily recommended menu and was delighted to have charcoal-grilled Ezo deer meat at a reasonable price. The game meat served on a Sakurajima lava plate was delicious without any gamey taste. I also enjoyed homemade marinated mackerel, octopus tempura, and scallops stir-fried with XO sauce as accompaniments with recommended sake. The atmosphere made me forget I was in Rumoi. To finish, we shared a char siu lettuce fried rice and spicy yakisoba, which was so filling. All the dishes were delicious and had great value. However, the alcohol prices were a bit high, and there were only a few types of sake available, which was disappointing. If they could lower the alcohol prices a bit and expand the selection of Japanese sake, it would be a perfect restaurant. Nonetheless, the food was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today, after work, I made a quick stop at Chobisuke with my colleagues. We started with a beer toast and then switched to a bottle of shochu. We enjoyed delicious dishes like grilled local chicken, chicken nanban, and yakisoba. Everything was beautifully presented and tasty. We were able to eat and drink comfortably, and we are satisfied with our experience. Thank you for the meal.

This is a restaurant that I have been interested in for a while. The state of emergency has been lifted and the number of infected people continues to decrease. We visited with less than 4 people. The restaurant has many private rooms, which is great. We reserved the Chobisuke course for 4,000 yen (tax included), which includes 120 minutes of all-you-can-drink and 8 dishes. The drinks are on a glass exchange system and last order is 30 minutes before the end. We cheered with ice-cold beer! The braised pork was tender and delicious. The grilled local chicken and lettuce fried rice were also good. We paired them with shochu. I forgot to take a picture of the almond jelly dessert. The dishes were served at a good pace, allowing us to enjoy each one as a good side dish for drinks. But by the end, we were stuffed (laughs). There are also counter seats, so it seems like a place where you can enjoy dining solo. Thank you for the meal.

I hadn't been there in a while, and it seems like the menu has changed with a Taiwan Fair going on! The Taiwanese dishes had an authentic taste and were delicious. Before, there were a lot of Kyushu-style dishes, but now it seems like there are more Asian-style dishes. In particular, the mapo cold noodles were delicious. The laftee is also a must-try! As always, everything I ate was delicious at this restaurant. Thank you for the meal!

I decided to try it out after hearing about it from a friend. The exterior looks like a house at first, but upon closer inspection, it says "Chobisuke" on it. The concrete walls give it a unique feel. We ordered a variety of dishes, but it seems to take a while for them to come, probably because they are busy. The 4,000 or 5,000 yen course includes all-you-can-drink, but if there are a few people, it might be better to order your favorite dishes instead.

I used the banquet course with 3 friends. It was my first time visiting since the relocation and reopening. The appearance and interior are very stylish. The restroom is also clean. The course comes with all-you-can-drink for 120 minutes for ¥4000 (tax included). The course included 3 appetizers, a carpaccio-style salad, sashimi (1 piece per person), Sichuan-style mapo tofu (with a numbing spiciness from the Sansho pepper), chicken tataki, shrimp and tomato stir-fry, chicken karaage with grated daikon, a dish labeled as cold noodles but was more like a ramen salad, and for dessert, a blancmange or almond jelly? It was a white, creamy, slightly firm pudding-like dessert with a lightly sweet sauce. Overall, the food was delicious, served hot when hot and cold when cold, and the drinks were promptly refilled. However, the portion sizes were a bit small overall (laughs).

A hidden gem in Rumoi with a great atmosphere! They have a counter, booth seating, and private rooms, making it very convenient. The staff is friendly and attentive. The restaurant is stylish and perfect for a date night. The menu has a strong Kyushu influence with a variety of seafood dishes. They also have a wide selection of sweet potato shochu, particularly the Akatombo brand is a must-try! For those who haven't tried it before, I recommend having it on the rocks. The chicken dishes, especially the chicken tataki and white liver, are delicious. The tempura is crispy and the pumpkin pudding for dessert is just right. The potato salad was a bit bland, but the French bread that came with it was good. The prices are reasonable, making this restaurant highly recommended. Thank you for the delicious meal!

It was only 6:00 pm but the city streets were sparsely lit. I stumbled upon this restaurant while wandering in search of dinner for the night. Without hesitation, I opened the door. Even though it was still early, there were already 2-3 groups of customers inside. I informed them that I was alone, and was seated at the counter. I ordered a highball to start. Shortly after, the highball was served and I quenched my thirst. Now, what should I order? The menu had quite unique and stylish names. I prefer more traditional izakaya dishes, so I ordered edamame, onion salad, pickles, and seared bacon. I did not order anything too unusual, so I will skip reviewing the menu - please refer to other reviews for that. The atmosphere of the restaurant is modern yet cozy. The interior is clean and neat. The staff, mostly female, were all very pleasant. I happened to stop by this restaurant alone, but it felt like I had found a good place. I wanted to try more dishes, but each dish was quite substantial... I wish they could offer smaller portions for solo diners so I could try more variety... I'm sorry for being picky. I'll come back when I'm more hungry next time.

This is a restaurant that takes advantage of its proximity to the sea, offering fresh sashimi. The scallop sashimi, in particular, includes parts that I had never tried before. They also excel in Chinese cuisine, with a wide variety of Chinese dishes on the menu. My recommendation is the chicken sashimi, it's a must-try! They have many chicken dishes, and the chicken tartare was also delicious. Although I don't drink, they have a wide selection of alcohol for those who enjoy it. Additionally, they provide a little touch of hospitality by leaving a message card on the table, which I had never experienced before and made me very happy when I first visited the restaurant.
