Beloved Mister Donut. Since high school, I have been a fan of Mister Donut after developing a habit of spending late nights at the Shijo Omiya branch. Many of the old American oldies songs I learned were from Mister Donut. I spent many nights there instead of studying for exams, riding my bike from Uzumasa. Of course, I also spent time there with friends. With unlimited hot coffee refills, a couple of donuts, we spent the night together. Mister Donut, that is. When I came to Tokyo and decided on a place to live, it was one of the conditions. (laughs) I thought places like Osho and Tenkaippin were out of reach, but I casually mentioned to the real estate agent, "A place with Yoshinoya, Mos Burger, and Mister Donut." Nowadays, it seems like every station along private railway lines would have them, but back in the late Showa era, stations that met that condition had to become terminal stations. In a sense, the fact that I have been living in Ikebukuro for over 35 years is due to the influence of "food" back then. Well, I say "back then," but even now, I still frequent those same shops. "Assorted Donuts" (1,241 yen) - as shown in the photo. Assorted, as in being lazy. (laughs) "French Cruller," "Angel Cream," "Old Fashioned," and though I didn't buy it this time, the "Honey Dip" are donuts I have been eating for almost 50 years. Each one has gotten surprisingly smaller compared to the past, but the taste remains the same. As long as I can feel that taste direction, I will continue to eat them in the future. "Hot Savory Pie BBQ Frankfurter," as described by Mister Donut, "We wrapped a juicy frankfurter with herb-scented BBQ sauce in crispy pie dough and baked it." I've had similar pies with frankfurters before, but this may be the first time with this name. The frankfurter is quite thick. It has a substantial feel to it, and it was delicious. "Crispy Mochi Ring Beef Stew & Potato," this was the main dish this time. (laughs) I had been wanting to try it, and it took some time to find the right moment. "The dough has a chewy texture with a smooth beef stew and cheese-flavored mashed potato filling, finished with parsley." Yep, that's exactly it. There's no other way to put it. Depending on where you bite, the expression of the encounter changes. Mister Donut's rich beef stew is really delicious. I remember thinking the same thing with a different product before. Yep, satisfied. Thank you for the meal. My beloved donut shop, Mister Donut, but I have one long-standing complaint. "The handle part of the box is extremely difficult to hold." Children might even find it painful to hold for a long time. In the case of a large, long box, when it gets heavier with more items, it becomes even more difficult to hold. Moreover, recently, various heavy pies have been added. "When carrying a bag, the box tilts sideways." There are various difficulties, but there seems to be no sign of change as I have stubbornly persisted. From 1988 to early September 2013, it was No. 793 Ikebukuro Sunshine Street store. Then, a store opened in the west exit, and from mid-September 2013 to early November 2016, it was No. 1888 Ikebukuro West Exit store. And from mid-November 2016, I have been frequenting this store, No. 1930 Ikebukuro Metropolitan Exit. The donuts seem to be getting smaller and smaller compared to the past, but it's probably due to rising material costs. If asked to pick a favorite donut, I would choose the French Cruller. If asked for two, I would choose the French Cruller and Angel Cream. And if asked for one more, I would choose the Honey Dip. This time, despite buying various donuts, why did I forget the Honey Dip? Was it not available? Surely, my preference for Mister Donut's donuts has not changed in about 50 years. There was a time when I would often pretend to be an adult and eat the Old Fashioned donut... I visited "Mister Donut Ikebukuro Nishiguchi Shop" in Ikebukuro. Mister Donut is a well-known chain of donut shops. I love chain restaurants, they are amazing. Japan has a great culture of chain restaurants. I really like Mister Donut. I also love Chinese food, and of course, donuts. It's great that you can easily find delicious donuts at a reasonable price in this country. I couldn't resist and bought some donuts, including Pon de Ring. The staff at the store provided excellent service. They were so kind and I was really impressed this time. The service in Japan is so much better than in other countries, and there's no need to tip. I felt like I should show more appreciation. I paid with my Suica card. I brought the Pon de Ring home, and its chewy texture with the powdered sugar melting on the surface was irresistible. It's amazing that you can enjoy this anywhere. I also tried the chocolate-covered Old Fashioned donut. It's a classic donut with a comforting taste. It goes well with black coffee. It was a wonderful moment. If Mister Donut had only one store, it would still be the best. I once again realized that it's a great store, including the staff's service. The donuts were delicious. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal.

At first glance, it looks crowded, but surprisingly, I always manage to find a seat easily. Perhaps because the atmosphere of the store is not conducive to lingering, there aren't many people staying for long, so the turnover is fast. I had the following items: Old Fashioned, Coconut Chocolate, and Hot Tea. I was disappointed to find that my favorite Chocolate Fashion was not available anymore. Also, the donuts seem to have gotten smaller! Double disappointment. However, the Old Fashioned never fails to satisfy. It always makes me feel at ease. Old Fashioned donuts are sold in many places, but Mister Donut is still the best! You have to ask the staff for a wet towel; they won't give it to you automatically. The staff seemed busy, so it took a while before I could start eating my donuts (sweating). Despite all the little things I mentioned, in the end, the convenience of being near the station and my love for Mister Donut's donuts always make me stop by!

This Mister Donut is always crowded. I often stop by when I go to Feelcycle. I tried two types of Halloween chocolate donuts. The chocolate is delicious. The store is not small, but it is very noisy inside, so it is not suitable for a long stay.

There is a Mister Donut store in Ikebukuro that offers free refills on coffee. The quality is better than other chain stores in the area. I will avoid chain stores in Ikebukuro from now on. The donuts are the typical Mister Donut flavor, so you can rest assured.

After eating spicy curry, having coffee is exceptional. Drinking hot coffee without water after eating curry leaves a satisfying feeling of fire in the mouth, like a fire-breathing dragon, creating an indescribable satisfaction. I decided to enjoy coffee at Mister Donut to pass the time. There were 8 customers in the store, all young women. Some were older women, but they were about a year and a half younger than me, so they belonged to the "young" group. I received a blend coffee in a paper cup with added d points and sat at a table in the back of the store. When I looked at the paper cup, I felt the first sense of "failure." I took a sip of coffee after taking out a novel from my bag, and it hit me. My mouth was on fire in an instant. Flames were shooting out, and the store was about to catch on fire. I quickly covered my mouth with my hand to prevent the fire-breathing. This moment was unforgettable. I took a second sip, and the fire in my mouth had subsided a bit. I paused the coffee and started reading the novel I had started. After a few minutes, the fire in my mouth was almost extinguished with the third sip of coffee. I then drank some cold water to put out the fire. Mister Donut usually has a staff member walking around every 20 minutes with a coffee pot to refill for customers who want more, but the staff here showed no sign of moving at all. Ah, this store doesn't offer free refills. This was the second sense of "failure" that struck me. After 30 minutes, with the fire completely extinguished and my time adjusted, I left the store to catch the train. Even though I couldn't distinguish the taste of coffee in a paper cup, I understood that there was no hint of deliciousness, but by cutting costs with paper cups and no refills, they could offer coffee for 319 yen. They take pride in being a "donut shop" and not a coffee shop. There are restaurants that attract customers with signs saying "free extra large, free refills, all-you-can-eat," so I wish they would put up a big sign saying "no refills" for customers like me who are looking for refills. Although the taste of coffee is not clear when mixed with curry, I enjoyed the fusion of both and the purpose of time adjustment through reading.

Today, it was too hot and I didn't feel like eating much, but I discovered that Mister Donut serves pizza. I thought I could handle pizza, so I decided to try it. I ordered the Small Size Pizza Set B with Kamaage Sakura Shrimp and Shirasu toppings for 1100 yen. I also chose a blend coffee and a Pon de Strawberry. The pizza took about 5 minutes to bake. The freshly baked pizza had a fragrant aroma of Sakura shrimp. The umami of the Shirasu enhanced the flavor of the cheese. The coffee was freshly brewed and had a good aroma and richness that paired well with the pizza. The Pon de Strawberry was soft and chewy with a pleasant strawberry scent. Honestly, I didn't expect to find such delicious pizza at Mister Donut.

I purchased the new Angel Fruit Amaou Strawberry product. The strawberry jam was sweeter than I expected, and I felt that the size could have been a bit smaller. I was a little disappointed because my expectations were raised by the appearance. Thank you for the meal.

Just outside the west exit of Ikebukuro Station, there is a Mister Donut with great access. The store has a chic atmosphere and feels like a stylish café. They have heart-shaped donuts, which are not on the official menu. I wonder if they use VitaMeal Collection molds? I always end up buying the rare donuts. The taste is like the Honey Dip donut from the East donut series, with golden chocolate on one side of the heart shape. I love the French Cruller series, and my long-time wish is for them to make an Angel French donut with custard cream.

Angel Cream Strawberry suddenly makes me crave Mister Donut. Did Mister Donut get smaller? It feels really tiny now. Maybe I've grown up. The strawberry has a rare feel to it, and it's a delight to find.

Mister Donut has started offering pizzas at their own stores, so I decided to try both eating in and taking out. I've always thought that donuts and pizza would go well together. Donuts are typically for takeout, but if they can make good sales with pizzas, even if it sacrifices some operations, it might be worth it. They have convection ovens and regular ovens, but they had a separate pizza oven for this. Maybe the regular ovens don't get hot enough for pizzas. I couldn't see the dough, but it seemed like it might have been partially baked and frozen. It must be hard to manage the fermentation process in the stores. The taste was okay, nothing special. It was enjoyable and the takeout was still hot when I got home. If you're expecting authentic pizza, you might want to go to a specialty shop, but for a fast food chain, the quality was good enough. I'm curious to see if they'll expand to franchised locations after this trial run. Domino's and others have been expanding with takeout-only stores, so it might become a fierce competition.

Just next to Ikebukuro Station West Exit is a Mister Donut (Misudo). It is located on the first floor of Tobu's restaurant building "Spice 2". I had some free time so I decided to take a break here. I usually get takeout from various shops, but this was my first time at this Mister Donut. Also, it had been a while since I dined in. My go-to drink choice at Mister Donut is coffee or cafe au lait because of the free refills. It goes well with the sweet donuts! However, this shop did not offer that service! I didn't realize that there were shops without this service. I thought it was only limited to a few specific locations. Anyway, I didn't plan on staying long today, so it wasn't a big deal. I ordered a cafe au lait and an old-fashioned donut. The cafe au lait was served in a disposable paper cup instead of a ceramic cup, maybe due to the current situation or it could be the norm for this shop? The donuts were also served on disposable sheets instead of plates like in other shops. Maybe it's to save time for the staff in such a busy area like Ikebukuro Station? The interior of the shop had a cute home-like atmosphere with small decorations and wall photos, giving it a cozy feel. Since the shop was empty in the morning, I was able to relax comfortably. I also bought some donuts to take home. Unlike the more expensive donut shops that were popular recently, Mister Donut offers a variety of affordable options in the 100 yen range, which I like.

I visited the Mister Donut on the first floor of Ikebukuro Nishiguchi Spice on a holiday afternoon. It is conveniently located near the station. I went to have coffee at Mister Donut. Of course, I couldn't resist ordering a black sugar pon de ring as well. I ordered a medium size hot coffee. The coffee comes in a paper cup. Unfortunately, you cannot get refills for any size. The customers ranged from children to adults. There were groups of high school students, and even a high school student dining alone at Mister Donut, which is quite impressive these days! They ordered dim sum! (I happened to be sitting next to them!) I might try the dim sum next time. The high school students were eating so deliciously... I wonder where they are heading next, maybe to cram school or club activities. The coffee was like the coffee you get at a cafe, with milk and sugar added. The pon de ring has remained delicious since its debut, it was quite a sensation back then, but now it's a classic and a signature menu item. A must-order item. The sugar pon de ring is good, but the black sugar pon de ring is also delicious! I used to get Osamu goods like tableware and towels from Mister Donut. Now they have become characters for the donuts. It's a fun strategy for Mister Donut to have these kinds of goods. Thank you for the meal!

I went to Mister Donut for a quick bite before shopping in Ikebukuro in July 2020. I was craving their Cheese Dog. I had a Hot Dog and a Cheese Dog. The crispy buns paired perfectly with the generous amount of cheese. While I chose the Hot Dog and Cheese Dog this time, I think it would have been nice to have one as a savory pie as well.

In the evening, I took a break because I was tired. I was interested in trying the pizza at Mister Donut. I ordered an iced tea without ice, a donut wrapped in mochi, and the pizza. The iced tea was served generously without reducing the amount. The donut was fluffy with cream, topped with a piece of mochi and strawberry sauce. The combination was strange but the donut itself was delicious. The pizza took a long time to arrive. I waited for 10 minutes and when I asked, I was told it would take another 5 minutes. When it finally arrived, it was not hot and the crust was getting hard, which was disappointing. Also, the presentation was not very neat. If they are not used to it, I hope they practice more. The location is convenient near the station, so I hope the staff can improve their pizza-making skills.

In January 2020, when I was short on time, fast food was always valuable. I saw Mister Donut and decided to go in for a pie and a drink. When I placed my order, I noticed the cheese dog. I thought about getting the cheese dog and a drink as a set, but then I saw they also had my favorite, Angel French donuts. The bread of the cheese dog was crispy, which I liked, and I thought I would like to eat it again.

Located about a 4-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station West Exit, there is a Mister Donut where you can eat pizza. You can taste the sweetness of the donut along with the saltiness of the pizza. There were about 5 different types of pizzas available. While it may not compare to a specialty pizza shop, it was delicious to be able to eat freshly baked pizza in the store. [2019.08.31 Visit] Location: It is located about a 2-minute walk from Ikebukuro Nishiguchi Station. I visited on a Saturday in the 8 o'clock hour. Since it was nighttime, there were fewer products available. I looked at the showcase and purchased a custard cream for 129 yen, a French cruller for 108 yen, and an old-fashioned for 118 yen. It had been a while since I had visited Mister Donut. I enjoyed them that night. My favorite is the coconut chocolate, but I haven't been able to eat it lately due to bad timing. The Mister Donut here is known for their authentic pizzas. I went to try the collaboration with the Dojima Roll on this day, so I'll have to try the pizza next time... The interior of the store is stylish, like a cafe. Of course, it was quite crowded. I was carrying my baby in a baby carrier, and the staff kindly brought the tray to our table for us. The collaboration with the Dojima Roll was delicious as expected, but I couldn't really tell the difference from the usual Angel Cream (laughs). I casually like the Wiener Pie, even though it's a bit greasy, but I like that. During lunchtime, I want to enjoy both salty and sweet treats, so I go for the Wiener Pie. And I've always liked Mister Donut's iced coffee. It's delicious. I'll definitely go back again.
