Yunatoto-san went there for the first time. It seems to be a shop originating from Kanto, and although they were unsure between the Honmachi and Kujo branches, they decided to go a little further to the Kujo branch where they could get an eel bowl and salad set for under 1000 yen. Even though I wasn't very hungry, I had plans for a few hours starting at 1 pm so I wanted to have lunch beforehand. I ordered the eel bowl and soon a decent-sized bowl with a piece of eel arrived. It looked like about four bites worth. The eel tasted pretty good, and after finishing it, I had leftover rice so I topped it with pickled vegetables to make a pickled vegetable bowl and finished all the rice. The price of 550 yen was reasonable for the size of the eel. Looking at the menu, the "Big Surprise" for 2,200 yen seemed to offer a normal amount of rice and eel. So, for 550 yen, you won't feel completely satisfied with the eel, indicating that you need to pay a bit more for a more fulfilling eel experience. Overall, it was an okay meal.

It was crowded in the direction of Taisho Station, so I headed towards Kujo Station instead. I had heard of this eel chain restaurant before and wanted to try it out. My partner gave me money for dinner, so I ordered the special eel rice bowl. Even though it was the top quality, it was only 1500 yen for almost a whole eel. The rice portion was small, which was great for me as I am on a low-carb diet. The eel was soft and delicious.

They have a variety of menu items such as rice bowls and set meals, and they also serve alcohol, so it's a good place to go for drinks at night. I ordered the double portion of Hitsumabushi set meal, which cost me over 1000 yen, but overall it's quite affordable. If you go for a regular portion, you can get an eel set meal or rice bowl for a few hundred yen. The eel was thick and delicious! The broth of the Hitsumabushi was also very tasty, and I finished it quickly. I would love to go back and eat here again next time I'm in Kujo.

The sauce is so rich that it's hard to tell if the eel is good or not. At this price, it's not bad. Unfortunately, the liver dish was actually intestines. The miso soup was enough. The rice was a bit hard. It's good enough when you're tired and just want to eat eel.
