This shop is often found in department store supermarkets nationwide, selling fish and sushi. I have used it several times before and usually buy nigiri sushi. The fish is large and the quality is high, even though it's not freshly made. It's recommended. While I'm not sure about other regions, the prices are reasonable in Fukuoka. This time, I bought my favorite negitoro roll (398 yen) because there were many thin rolls lined up in the case. There were also natto rolls, umekyu rolls, and kappamaki rolls. The 9 pieces of cut thin rolls were neatly arranged. The rice was not packed too tightly, but pleasantly fluffy, and the negitoro and seaweed were delicious. I also bought some fish, which were fresh and had thick flesh.

Hankyu Hanshin Department Store at Hakata Station. Discovered a sushi restaurant in the basement seafood section. It looked delicious, so I decided to try it. I ordered the "Nigiri Sushi (Kodama)" for 1080 yen. It included fatty tuna, horse mackerel, amberjack, shad, herring roe, grilled mackerel belly, green onion and tuna belly, salmon, and spear squid. It was served with Kyushu soy sauce which enhanced the flavors. The shad, spear squid, and amberjack were my favorites. The fatty tuna was a great deal for the price. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

"Fuku no Hokushin" is a restaurant located in Hakata Hankyu, known for its fresh fish. They also have a branch in Iwate at Kawatoku, where the freshness is highly praised. This time, I bought some spicy cod roe as a snack, which was priced at 200 yen for the cut pieces. Despite the lower price due to the cut pieces, the taste was still good. The texture of the roe was firm with just the right amount of spiciness. It would go well with rice, but I decided to pair it with Japanese sake. I plan to buy some spicy cod roe as a souvenir on my way back.

The last thing I tried was the sashimi. Sashimi assortment, 7 types, serves 2-3 people, for ¥1680. It included red snapper, squid, fatty tuna, bigeye tuna, striped jack, amberjack, and salmon. I chose this to avoid overlapping with sushi and salad. It was fresh and delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I was running late that day, so I decided to pick up various items for dinner at the Hankyu department store basement. I bought a mushroom bento and fried chicken at another store, and here I purchased sushi. This fish market not only sells fresh fish but also offers a variety of sushi packs to choose from, which is very convenient. I chose the Assorted Nigiri Sushi (Nadeshiko) for 1280 yen (tax included), which included tuna, sea bream, scallop, salmon, and more. It also came with a tekka maki. While it wasn't outstanding, it was simply delicious. I tried one piece and it was really good. Thank you for the meal!

A fish market located in the Hankyu Department Store basement directly connected to Hakata Station. They sell fresh fish, sashimi, nigiri sushi, and pressed sushi. Today's order was supposed to be "battera," but it was sold out near closing time. So, we ended up with nigiri sushi instead. The sushi comes in an octagonal container with a fan-shaped arrangement, which is a bit unusual. It's nicely chilled with the ice pack. The slightly sticky and plump rice has good texture, and the toppings are thick and satisfying. The toppings are fresh and there are no standout flavors, similar to what you might find at a medium-sized conveyor belt sushi restaurant after about three rounds. Overall, it's a straightforward takeout style of nigiri sushi.

This is a fresh fish store located in the basement of Hakata Hankyu, with branches mainly in the Tokyo metropolitan area. The store's name, Hokushin, means the North Star, which has been used as a guide by fishermen for centuries, symbolizing the company's prosperity. I stopped by after shopping, and although some sushi had already sold out, there were still plenty of options available in the sushi counter. I decided to buy a sushi set for dinner, choosing the "Nadeshiko" set for 1,200 yen. The set included 9 pieces of nigiri sushi, starting with sea bream and bigeye tuna, both incredibly fresh. There were also scallop and tuna, squid and shrimp, egg, salmon, and shellfish, with the salmon being particularly rich and delicious. Lastly, there was a tekka maki roll. Overall, the sushi was so fresh and tasty that it was worth the 1,200 yen for takeout. The store is located in the basement of Hakata Hankyu. Address: 1-1 Hakataekichuogai, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, Hakata Hankyu B1F. Phone: 092-461-1381. Opening hours: 10:00-21:00. Closed: None.

I enjoyed shopping alone on my day off, so I bought a "souvenir" for my husband who stayed at home. I purchased take-out sushi from a fish market on the basement floor of Hakata Hankyu. It was enough for one person, including nigiri, negitoro roll, and anago pressed sushi. I lost the receipt, so I'm not sure of the individual prices, but it was around 2500 yen in total. The nigiri included 9 pieces such as chu-toro, crab, shrimp, ikura, salmon, horse mackerel, and scallop. My impression was that it was "average." I tried a little bit of both. The negitoro was delicious as usual. The anago was okay. It's convenient to buy at the department store's food section when shopping for other groceries.

The souvenir sujiko. The sujiko from Hokushin is surprisingly delicious. It was so delicious that I cooked 5 cups of rice. I cooked 3 cups in a clay pot, 2 cups of barley rice in a rice cooker, and 3 cups of white rice. I made all of them into rice balls and left them out, and I think they turned out pretty well because someone always ends up eating them. Haseen's clay pot. Clay pot rice balls. Seaweed salt rice ball. Salt rice ball without seaweed. Barley rice rice ball. I received a notice from my health check that my LDL cholesterol and body fat percentage are high, so I can't eat fish roe, but I ate just one piece. It's really tough not being able to eat fish roe even though I love it. The solution is exercise.
