Today's first stop for a drink is at Jirakuru-tei, a Kushikatsu restaurant in Obihiro, Hokkaido. It's located in the Tokachi Nagaya area. I started off drinking alone. I began with a draft beer, served with cabbage as a side dish. I ordered the Jirakuru Set, which includes 7 different types of Kushikatsu: quail egg, shishito pepper, tender squid, shrimp, nagaimo (Japanese yam), chicken tenderloin, and beef. I enjoyed them while they were still hot. The shishito pepper had a bit of spiciness that paired well with the beer. After finishing my beer, I ordered a Bali King, a highball with soda. It's a drink for adults, but surprisingly easy to drink without a strong alcohol taste. The other Kushikatsu items were also delicious.

I visited Tokachi Nagaya✨ and my main target was "kushikatsu"‼️ I didn't take a picture of the menu but I selected from a variety of options✨ I don't have many opportunities to eat kushikatsu, so I went a bit overboard with my order haha (´ж`;) The thinly coated ingredients were crispy and satisfying with a cold beer‼️ I saw pork bowl with tea pickles for the first time and it was delicious✨

On 23/05/12, I attended a gathering with a colleague while on a business trip. They told me, "Hey, ganma, there's a place where you can get a beer for 100 yen until 6:30!" I hurriedly finished up my work, and we headed to "Tokachino Nagaya." We arrived at 17:52. It was the start of a 30-minute showdown (laughs). This place is a skewer restaurant. Since I was hungry, we ordered a set of 10 skewers each. Of course, we started with a draft beer. Cheers! While nibbling on the cabbage appetizer, we waited for the skewers. I switched from beer to a highball. The skewers finally arrived. I dipped the asparagus in the sauce and took a bite. Mmm, this is delicious! The fine coating on the skewers really complements the ingredients. The original sauce goes well with any skewer. I, the fifty-year-old man, think this amount of skewers is just right. We left fully satisfied at 18:39. In the 30-minute battle, I had a total of 3 beers. This place is perfect for starting off a weekend of drinking. Definitely a place I will visit again!

Obihiro night! On the 3rd day of the soba warrior training journey during Golden Week. We leisurely traveled from Kushiro to Obihiro, where we prepared our sleeping arrangements at a station-side parking lot where we parked our car last year. Now, where should we go for a drink? The first choice, that popular robatayaki place, was naturally fully booked...oh well, no choice during this Golden Week. When it comes to Obihiro, there used to be a popular food stall village, and next to it was a row of tenants with slightly wider entrances and higher ceilings called "Nagaya Yokocho". Among them, this cozy-looking place caught our eye, so we decided to enter. The friendly and talkative owner had a good vibe. - [When in doubt] Aji Rakuru Set 880 yen - Beer (forgot to order) - Mega Highball 880 yen This is something that can be said for various food and beverage establishments, but it's nice to have a recommended menu guide when you're unsure of what to order. The pork cutlet had a fine, delicate coating and was fried at a lower temperature to thoroughly cook the ingredients while keeping it light. The ingredients felt a bit cheap, but considering the price, it was sufficient. I wish they had used better quality ingredients, especially for the popular shrimp dish. The owner mentioned being sensitive to social media reviews, so I'll leave it at this... (sweating) The couple sitting next to us were travelers from Date. The light conversation, feeling the same Tokachi scent (laughs), was the charm of eating at a food stall...a fun Obihiro night!

I visited this restaurant for the first time. I had salmon cheese, quail eggs, pickled ginger, pork skewers, and squid. I was curious about this place as another restaurant I used to go to for skewers closed down. I happened to come across this place and decided to check it out. Despite living in Obihiro for many years, this was my first visit to this restaurant.

Amerakutei 2022.10.01 What I can do now is to cooperate with food and beverage establishments by being careful enough. I come with the feeling of "Let's go wild together" tonight. Third stop. Tonight, I went to a street drinking stall with friends for the first time in a while and visited a shop run by a friend's acquaintance, "Amerakutei". The location is in a Nagaya in Tokachi, Obihiro. The exterior looks like a Nagaya in Tokachi. The interior is small with a few counter seats. They served cabbage as a complimentary dish (price not confirmed). I ordered scallops for 230 yen (tax included), young corn for 150 yen (tax included), lotus root for 180 yen (tax included), chicken skewers for 150 yen (tax included), pickled ginger for 150 yen (tax included), and shrimp for 230 yen (tax included). I also ordered a lot of alcohol. The two women running the business seem to have a high fryer (laughs). The breadcrumbs are finely and thinly fried in an Osaka style, crispy and delicious. In this day and age, the sauce is individually portioned so you can dip as many times as you want. I will come back to eat their kushikatsu. Thank you for the meal. I wandered around without feeling like eating, thinking about what to eat. Sometimes I feel like having kushikatsu! We were seated at a food stall with two other guests, and we took turns ordering. The owner, a woman, served us. We toasted with shochu on the rocks, and the appetizer was cabbage with plenty of mayo. My husband doesn't eat much, so I ordered the luxurious set with 10 skewers. Asparagus, beef, shrimp, nagaimo, Nasu eggplant, pickled ginger, rice cake, and what else was there? The appetizer cost 330 yen, the luxurious set was 1230 yen, and three drinks totaled 1680 yen, making a total of 3570 yen. The breadcrumbs were finely ground, so I didn't feel full. I wanted to eat more, like "give me more to eat!" My husband was eager to go to the next place. Oh well, I might end up losing weight. Thank you for the meal.

On January 25, 2022, I moved from Tomakomai to Obihiro. I wanted to try something different for dinner, so I went to this place that specializes in kushikatsu. The atmosphere was like a narrow food stall. Since it was an hour before closing, there were no other customers. I ordered scallop and tomato kushikatsu, as well as dotenabe. Since they were fried dishes, I paired them with a highball. The scallops were juicy and paired perfectly with the sauce, while the tomatoes were exceptionally delicious and went really well with the highball. However, the dotenabe was quite different from what I had imagined, as it didn't seem to use hatcho miso at all. It was a bit disappointing. The kushikatsu was very delicious, so I would like to visit this place again in the future. Thank you for the meal.

On my last night in Obihiro, I wanted to eat at Heiwaen Honten amidst the smoke, but it was full and I had to wait for an hour, so I gave up. I decided to go to Arakuratei, ranked number one for kushikatsu on Tabelog. It was unusual to have kushikatsu in Obihiro as I'm from Kansai, but I enjoyed the sauce. Surprisingly, they allowed double dipping in the sauce! After ordering the classic kushikatsu, I tried the amazing beef hamburger kushikatsu. It was huge like a croquette, with a meat filling similar to menchi. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was fun. They are also opening a branch in Odori on January 26th, so I plan to visit there too.

The somewhat low-spirited landlady serves each skewer with care. The bread crumbs are finely ground, making the tempura coating thin and light to eat. The beer is well chilled and delicious, but there were no other customers and the atmosphere felt uncomfortable with the gloomy landlady. So, I give this rating.

It was the last day of the long weekend and with a child in tow, there weren't many open shops. The first place we came across seemed to be exclusive to regulars, so we ended up at this food stall. I wanted to have a casual conversation and decide on my order, but had to write it down on an order slip instead. The food was decent, but I couldn't fully enjoy the atmosphere of a food stall.

This is Obihiro. I went to an izakaya and had a little something to eat, so I'm looking for another place that's still open in the alley. I came across a place that has been ranked number one in Hokkaido for six consecutive years in the kushikatsu ranking on Tabelog. I didn't even know there was such a ranking! I'm curious to see other categories as well. I have to try it out, right? This place has high expectations! There were no other customers, and the female owner was running the place by herself. I'll have a highball, please, and the Deluxe Set for 980 yen. It includes beef, pork, shrimp, octopus, nagaimo, onion, eggplant, rice cake, pickled ginger, and asparagus - 10 pieces in total, so each piece is only 98 yen, which is a great deal! They were freshly fried and crispy and delicious. The asparagus and shrimp were particularly tasty. The kushikatsu was decent. They all came out at once, so I ate them quickly and they were gone in no time. I want to have ramen to finish, so I'll just have the highball and this set and leave. Can I have the bill, please? 2,040 yen? Is this cabbage appetizer like 500 yen? Seriously? The kushikatsu is cheap, so I get it's about the total cost, but if this cabbage appetizer is around 500 yen, it's a bit questionable, right? I wish they could do something about this appetizer, even if they raise the price of the kushikatsu a bit! Thank you for the meal!

Today, I went to a popular skewer restaurant in the Tokachi Naga-machi area. It has only 7-8 counter seats. It was just past 6 pm on a weekday, and there was already one group of customers there. I started with a Sapporo beer for a toast. The appetizer was cabbage with mayonnaise. Although you can order skewers individually, I opted for the luxurious set priced at 980 yen. The skewers were crispy and ready in 5 minutes. The set included whole asparagus, Tokachi beef, select pork, plump shrimp, Hokkaido octopus legs, Hokkaido grown long potatoes, Hokkaido onions, Hokkaido eggplant, chewy mochi, and Osaka's famous pickled ginger. Everything was delicious, although nothing stood out as exceptional. It was perfect for enjoying with drinks. I left satisfied. Thank you for the meal! With beer and 2 mega highballs, the total bill was less than 3,000 yen. It was a great deal.

It's been about half a year since I last visited Obihiro! This town always makes me feel calm! (^3^)/ There is a long-established kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) restaurant in Tokachi. The exterior is flashy! (laughs) Sometimes, don't you feel like eating kushikatsu? The only downside is that it's hard to get full, but here they have products three times the normal size, so I ordered three types and finally felt satisfied! (laughs) Kushikatsu! Delicious (*`・ω・)ゞ, right! If you're unsure about what to order, starting from here with a set menu might be a good idea! The Tokachi beef katsu is delicious! The Miracle Kushikatsu also has a lot of volume and is delicious! \(^^)/ Next door, "Kita no Yatai" is famous, but it's always crowded with tourists, making it hard to visit, but surprisingly "Nagaya" is often empty (laughs) and it's great!! On a business trip to Obihiro, I visited a small restaurant in the alley of the night food stalls seeking for kushikatsu and beer. The compact interior had only an L-shaped counter, and around 9 pm, there was only one other group of customers. We started with a toast with draft beer. We ordered a set of kushikatsu, a deluxe set for 980 yen, special zangi for 390 yen, and homemade tsukune for 390 yen. The cabbage served as an appetizer. The sauce for dipping was not allowed to be dipped twice, and it had a nice spicy flavor. Next, the homemade tsukune was not to my liking. The special zangi had a rich color and a soy sauce-based flavor, but the meat was a bit tough and it was fried too much. The deluxe set had 10 skewers, with 9 being served at once, and the asparagus was served separately, causing the last skewer to get cold by the time we finished. I was tempted by the name "Mega Jockey" and ordered a lemon sour, which turned out to be a massive 1-liter glass. It was heavy but interesting. The food was so-so, but the Mega Jockey was a unique experience. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Miraqutei for the first time! It's the third stop on our bar hopping night. We walked around a bit to decide where to go next. There are a lot of places in this alley that I haven't been to before. How about a skewer restaurant? The exterior is quite flashy, haha. Miraqutei it is! When we entered, there were about four customers, half of whom seemed to be regulars. We started with drinks, beer and oolong tea. Cheers! The beer had a disappointing amount of foam. The skewers were delicious, and we ordered seven for the two of us. Cabbage came first, and then the skewers arrived. The staff explained the sauce to us, mentioning that double dipping is now allowed despite it being written on the menu. The way they explained it was a bit odd, but the skewers were tasty. I always visit this kushikatsu restaurant in Obihiro whenever I go there since I first visited three years ago. It's a small shop in a food stall village, so it's often difficult to get a seat, which is a bit disappointing. Previously, they had a secret sauce that you could only dip twice, but this time they provided it in small plates for each person. The kushikatsu here is light and crispy, and you can eat as many as you want. My favorite choices are Inca Awakening, onion, and pickled ginger. Also, I highly recommend the "luxury set" as it is very cost-effective! As for drinks, the notable feature of this restaurant is the "Mega Jug"!! Many places offer mega-sized drinks, but the mega size here is really huge!! I usually drink a jug in one go, but this one was too much even for me (;^¬^;) They also have various fun events, and this time I received the "Taste Rakuruhou lottery ticket." If I win, I have to go back to Obihiro!! Thank you, "Taste Rakutei"!

This is "Mirakurutei" in Obihiro City. It is located at 10 Tokachinonagaya, Nishi 1-jo Minami 10-chome, Obihiro City, Hokkaido. It is a kushikatsu restaurant. Since eating at a kushikatsu restaurant in Osaka, this is the first time I have tried it at a specialty shop in Hokkaido. I had the "Luxury Set," which includes 10 skewers of beef, pork, shrimp, octopus legs, nagaimo (mountain yam), onion, eggplant, mochi, pickled ginger, and asparagus. It is quite a good deal. The tangy sauce is delicious, just like the one in Osaka. The ingredients are top-notch, and the happiness of eating freshly fried skewers is unmatched. The taste is on par with the authentic Osaka style. After trying a bit of everything, you can choose to eat your favorite skewers again or try something different like "Salmon Cheese," "Camembert Cheese," or desserts like "Baumkuchen" and "Sweet Potato." It's great how you can enjoy kushikatsu in your own way.

When I lived in Obihiro, I used to frequent a certain restaurant. It's a place where I can casually drop by alone after work for a drink. It's a special place for me. The owner is a ball of charisma, a big guy who is really friendly. He's so nice and funny! Now I think his wife runs the place, and I believe the husband is managing the Sapporo branch. I haven't been to the Sapporo branch yet, but I will definitely visit! I also want to go back to the Obihiro branch, it's been over two and a half years since I last went. When I go there alone, I end up making friends with other customers, and the owner even listens to my worries and gives advice. (´◡͐`)
