Today's lunch was at "Genhin Honmachi Fugu, Sushi, and Crab Cuisine" in Osaka, Honmachi. Um, I ended up coming to the neighboring town of Honmachi again... This is my second time here. I had the following dish: Fugu tempura bowl made by a fugu restaurant (900 yen). This place is a chain specializing in fugu cuisine. When I visited about 10 years ago, they used to serve lunch, but it seems like they haven't been doing so in recent years. Maybe they started lunch service due to the impact of the novel coronavirus. Since I came to the neighboring town, I don't have much time to eat. When I asked upon entering if it would take long, they said, "No, it won't." And indeed, the dish arrived in about 5 minutes!! Wow. It looks delicious. It's bigger than I expected. The toppings are... Fugu, paprika, green pepper, eggplant, sweet potato, onion, and shungiku? (on the right side of the bowl in the overall photo). Let's dig in. It's delicious and piping hot. However, the sauce is quite sweet, which bothers me. Isn't fugu supposed to be delicate? The fugu meat is... light and fluffy. Delicious. But it's a bit bland, so some people might say it tastes like "flavorless chicken" or something like that. Speaking of which, isn't fugu sashimi the best after all? Red miso soup. Drinking red miso soup makes you feel luxurious. The counter. There's a counter in front of the shop. It's okay for solo diners. The back seems to have table seating. Lunch menu. They also have sushi... I'm curious about the "Fugu tempura cold udon." I wonder what kind of udon that is. Shop front.
