【March 30, 2023】Investigation report. Infiltrated a popular shop in Kuromon Market. Arrived at 9:38 AM. The oden dishes simmered in a pot. The ingredients are all mixed together without individual sections. The broth is cloudy. About 90% of the people eating in front of the shop are foreign tourists. Purchased items and reviews are as follows ↓↓↓↓ - Egg: 130 yen, rated 3.7. The taste is well infused, but the appearance may not be appealing with cracks and irregular shapes. - Thick fried tofu: 130 yen, rated 3.8. It absorbs the broth well and tastes delicious. - Daikon radish: 130 yen, rated 3.7. The taste is decent, but it was a bit tough. [Overall evaluation] It was my first time visiting Kuromon Market, but it felt more like a shopping street for tourists rather than a place rooted in the local community. It was a bit disappointing, I would say.

At Kuromon Market, there is a shop that stands out with delicious looking side dishes and a variety of simmering oden. You can take out the food or eat it right next to the shop. There are rest areas in Kuromon Market as well. I tried the "Sweet and Spicy Simmered White Fish Fillet" and "Kanto-style Oden" which includes beef tendons, daikon radish, fried tofu, and fish cakes for ¥890. They also had "Simmered Flounder" and other tasty options. The owners, both the man and the woman, were really nice and we even talked about the Osaka metropolitan plan. I will definitely go back if I have the chance!

This shop is located about a 4-minute walk from Kintetsu Nipponbashi Station. It is a store in Kuromon Market that sells side dishes and oden. Kuromon Market has narrow passageways, so even when there are only 2 or 3 people gathered at a store, it looks like a large crowd. This shop also had about 20 types of side dishes, some of which seemed good for sake snacks. There are 9 types of oden ranging from 100 yen to 140 yen each. I bought "konnyaku 100 yen + thick fried tofu 100 yen" this time. If you take it home, they will put it in a plastic bag for you, but if you eat it right away, they will put it on a tray and provide chopsticks. They cut the chopsticks into small pieces and put them on a skewer, probably because foreign tourists cannot use chopsticks. I was surprised by their kindness. The konnyaku seemed to have been simmered for a long time, so it was slightly firm. It had a solid texture and was of a standard size like convenience store size. The thick fried tofu was triangular and thick. It had a rich flavor that made me want to drink sake. The broth had a deep, intense flavor from simmering various ingredients. This broth cannot be replicated in convenience stores. I wanted to try the beef tendons as well, but I decided against it because I felt like drinking sake seriously. There is no eat-in option, so you have to eat nearby. Most people are taking photos, so if you eat together, you can enjoy your meal without feeling awkward. Kuromon Market is perfect for a casual food tour. It was crowded with foreign tourists on weekdays, but it was quite lively.

*****May 2016 (1st visit)***** After dining at "Kurogin," I purchased some black wagyu beef tendon meat (180 yen including tax) from a popular butcher shop that I had reviewed before. This tendon meat is really delicious and goes great with oden and nikudofu. While walking around the market, I spotted a shop with simmering oden that looked incredibly appetizing, with a tantalizing aroma of broth. Curious, I bought some daikon (100 yen including tax) and beef tendon meat (140 yen including tax). I then sat down at the free eat-in space. 1. Daikon [Taste] ★★★★☆ The daikon tasted delicious with a sweet Kansai-style oden broth that brought out the umami of the ingredients. The daikon had a satisfying volume and was surprisingly made with the skin on, which added a nice texture and flavor. The soft and crunchy daikon had a gentle taste that paired well with the flavorful broth. 2. Beef Tendon Meat [Taste] ★★★★☆ The beef tendon meat, with a lot of lean meat, was incredibly delicious. The tender texture and rich umami of the wagyu red tendon meat made it a standout dish with a satisfying bite. Overall, the oden served at the shops in Kuromon Market is of a high standard. The sweet and homey taste, combined with the depth of flavor from the broth and ingredients, makes it a place worth revisiting. Drizzling the oden broth over rice, adding some grated wasabi, and enjoying it like ochazuke would surely be a delightful experience. I look forward to exploring more affordable and delicious options in Kuromon Market in the future. Thank you for the meal. *Rating: Oden - 3.5 points

Good evening! This is Shun Mama. My workplace is located just past the Kuromon Market in Osaka Nihonbashi, at the entrance to Den-Den Town. For lunch, I often buy food from the supermarkets and delis in Kuromon Market. One of my favorite places is Ishibashi Shokuhin, with a 100% repeat rate. What makes this place so great is first and foremost the customer service! It's a family-run business, with the father and mother, their son and daughter-in-law, and their older brother all being very friendly and welcoming. The mother especially always greets me with a smile and a friendly comment. The daughter-in-law's service is also fantastic, always making me feel like I made a good choice. Oh, and about the location of the shop, you can find it by taking exit 10 of Nihonbashi Station, heading into the shopping street from the pet shop, turning right at the fruit shop called Nabeji, and continuing straight. Once you pass Minamishimazu, the fugu shop, you'll see Ishibashi Shokuhin on your left. In this season, you'll know you've found it when you see the simmering oden. The side dishes and bento boxes they offer are all delicious. The recommended dishes are displayed at the front, with a variety of bento options next to them. The main dishes include simmered fish, grilled fish, hamburger steak, fried chicken, sardine fry, shrimp fry, minced meat cutlet, okra paste, etc. The side dishes include salmon marinated salad, glass noodle salad, simmered chicken, fried eggplant, boiled turnips, boiled warabi, hirousu, simmered bamboo shoots, macaroni salad, rolled omelette, etc. Each bento box contains about 7 side dishes. And the price? It's only 520 yen. Isn't that cheap? With so many dishes, it's good for your health too! The taste is not like the factory-made food you find in department stores or convenience stores, it's full of homemade goodness. And they add hot rice to your order. The rice has a soft texture that I personally love. As you can see in the photos, there are more side dishes than rice. You won't find this anywhere else! On the days I eat Ishibashi Shokuhin's bento, I'm not hungry even at 7 pm (laughs). It's the most satisfying bento I've ever had. Another recommendation is their oden. You can also take this home. They pack it up for you, making it perfect for a cold winter lunch! Especially the daikon radish is surprisingly large, and the broth is delicious. The other side dishes are also top-notch.

If Hashimoto Mana were still alive, he would have definitely enjoyed this. It's finally the season for oden! There is a deli shop in Kurokado. After 6 o'clock, the surrounding shops start closing one by one, but for the deli shop, it's still a crucial time. In front of the shop, oden was being served. 90 yen for one item! And each item is big! I got my top 3 favorite items, daikon and potatoes. For those who want to eat immediately, they put it in a tray for you. The daikon must have been marinated in broth for quite a long time. It has absorbed the flavor well and tastes delicious. The potatoes had a color to them, so they must have been simmered once, but for some reason, they were served cold on the side, which was a bit disappointing. However, the flavor had penetrated inside, so they were also delicious. Perhaps the location plays a role in having good ingredients. Lastly, the lady said, "It's delicious!" as she handed them to me. When a shop says "It's delicious," there must be a reason behind it...and that was the twist with this oden!

Inside Kuromon Market, there is a delicatessen shop with a variety of vegetable-based side dishes lined up. There were also simmered fish dishes on display (though not on that day). Foreign visitors were stopping to look with great interest, especially at the popular oden for eating on the go. I bought several oden dishes that were simmering with steam at the counter. Those who eat right away get them in plastic containers, while those taking them home get them in a plastic bag. The broth was quite sweet.

Hello. I'm Shunmama. Our company is located a 5-minute walk south of Sakaisuji from Nihonbashi Station, so I often use Kuromon Market. Among them, I am grateful to "Ishibashi Shokuhin" for giving me energy with their take-out lunch boxes. Daily lunch box.....520 yen The main dishes include grilled fish, simmered fish, simmered hamburg steak, fried chicken, fish in sweet vinegar sauce, squid tempura, fish fry, shrimp fry, meatballs, mashed tempura, etc. It's a cheap lunch box that you can eat without getting tired even if you buy it every day.

"Hey, looking to have a great time drinking at home? Then check out this place. Located inside Kuromon Market, a bit to the south. They are cooking oden at the storefront, and the aroma is amazing. The staff is friendly, efficient, and packs the food carefully for takeout. They also offer food that is easy to eat while walking around. The prices vary depending on the item, and you can purchase in 100g increments even if it says the price for 200g. Here are some recommendations: Grilled horse mackerel marinated in vinegar with crispy onions, a perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. It lasts long and goes well with beer. Simmered flounder where you can choose your favorite part, with the broth served separately to keep the fish tender when reheating. Great as a side dish or with drinks. White tofu salad with a sesame oil aroma and a sweet taste of tofu. The smooth texture is delightful. Bamboo shoot simmered in a sweet and flavorful seasoning, perfect for those who want to try a seasonal dish. A different kind of deli compared to supermarkets or department stores. Bon appétit!"
