I didn't expect to find a highly-rated Sushizanmai in Osaka, but I decided to give it a try. It was not crowded on a Sunday night, so I was seated quickly. The orders came out promptly. The tamago was delicious. However, the deep-fried small shrimp was disappointing. It was overcooked and had a strange color compared to the menu photo. I usually eat the heads too, but I couldn't bring myself to eat them this time. I'm not sure if I will go back next time.

Daughter and I went for our 7th round of day drinking in Osaka! We decided to finish with sushi, so we went to Sushizanmai. We had high expectations because we often see it on TV. We started with a beer, cheers! However, when we entered, we felt a bit disappointed. As we expected, many items were sold out even though it was only 3 pm! We ordered whatever was available, but for the price... this sushi is not worth it! We should have gone to Kura Sushi instead. I won't be coming back here!

The maguro (tuna) was okay. Although not shown in the photo, the toro (fatty tuna) was good. The natural buri (yellowtail), buri toro, shima aji (striped jack), and toro salmon, to be honest, didn't taste delicious. They didn't feel fresh. Since it seemed more geared towards tourists, I think it deserves 3 stars.

Affordable and delicious, this restaurant is our go-to spot for tuna sashimi. My wife and I always start with 10 pieces of red tuna. We also order green onions, which are not commonly found in Kansai. Despite being a chain restaurant, the atmosphere is like a family-friendly diner where you can enjoy a leisurely meal with your loved ones.

It had been a while since my last visit, but the tuna here is still delicious and reasonably priced. The only downside was the slow service from ordering sushi to receiving it. Desserts were served promptly after ordering, so perhaps there aren't enough sushi chefs. With more customers returning to dine in, I hope for better service next time. Thank you for the meal.

When I think of Sushizanmai, I always picture the first auction of tuna. I've seen it auctioned off many times before, and it always gives off a good vibe. I knew they had a store in Dotonbori, Osaka, but I had never been there before. I was excited to finally visit Sushizanmai, which I always saw on TV. The interior of the store is spacious, with plenty of table seats, but I chose to sit at the counter where I could watch the sushi chef at work. They had a variety of dishes on the menu. As for the sushi, I thought the quality was decent for the price. However, I felt that the balance between the rice and the toppings was a bit off. It felt a bit bland to me. Overall, I think it's a top-ranking sushi chain. It gives off more of a sushi izakaya vibe than a traditional sushi restaurant. The fact that you can eat sushi 24 hours a day is really wonderful! I'm full once again today.

"Sushizanmai Dotombori branch: Tuna tempura 858 yen, Tsubugai (whelk) 437 yen, Natto roll 275 yen, Squid salted innards 495 yen, Shishamo dried overnight 495 yen, Tekka maki 440 yen, Bottled beer 748 yen, Hakutsuru sake 1285 yen. The taste is not bad, but it's a bit expensive. 748 yen for a bottled beer is quite high. And 1285 yen for Hakutsuru sake... as a sake lover, it's tough. Tuna tempura and squid salted innards are also a bit pricey for the portion size. The restaurant gives off a cheap vibe at first glance, so the price gap feels even more pronounced. If the taste is outstanding, then it would be satisfying."

Osaka's Sushizanmai Dotonbori branch is located in the Kuidaore Building. Sushizanmai is known for using only the finest tuna, including premium bluefin tuna, offering authentic Edomae sushi at reasonable prices. On this day, they had a special promotion where each piece of sushi was only 60 yen. We ordered a variety of items including egg, salmon, bonito, crab miso, squid fin, eel, torotaku roll, miso soup with seaweed, and squid tempura. Sushizanmai is often associated with conveyor belt sushi, but here you can fill out an order form and they will prepare your meal fresh. The fish and rice are both high quality, making it a great option for enjoying authentic sushi without breaking the bank. You can order just one piece at a time, allowing you to try a variety of options.

I decided to try Go To Eat Point once, but I was disappointed with the service. The opening hours were surprisingly late, and they often forgot my order. The shirako they brought late was too cold. I may have had high expectations, but I won't be going back.

Since I went to Tokyo, it had been a while. I was in the mood to have a light toast with sushi, so I decided to visit this restaurant in Osaka for the first time. It's located near the bridge in Dotonbori, right where the Kuishinbo Daruma doll is standing, so it's easy to find. Tuna is the main dish, right? It's famous. But the chawanmushi and other sushi are delicious too. The restaurant is spacious, so we could maintain social distance and enjoy our meal with peace of mind. The staff were also very energetic and friendly. I would love to come back again for a leisurely meal! (^-^)/

I visited the "Sushizanmai Dotonbori store" in Osaka-Namba for the first time in 11 years. It has been eight years since the Kansai's first store opened in Dotonbori. I have visited their stores in Kobe Sannomiya and Kyoto Kawaramachi, but have never dined in. This time, I finally tried it as they had reasonably priced options. I had the maguro bowl for 500 yen (excluding tax).

It is a visit to the well-known Sushizanmai in Dotonbori. Despite the challenges of the current situation with COVID-19, the restaurant seems to be struggling. On a weekday, the customer turnout is about 10%. Without the return of inbound tourists, it seems tough. However, they are persevering and enduring, hoping for customers to return. When they do, hopefully they can improve the quality of their sushi. Even though it's inbound, the level of Japanese sushi should be higher. The competition from the 100-yen conveyor belt sushi chains offers decent quality for 100 yen for 2 pieces. Sushizanmai has a pricing of 98 yen per piece, with most fish pieces priced at 168 yen or more. With that quality, it's not surprising if customers decrease. It's a difficult time, but I hope they can improve and regain the vibrancy they had a few years ago. Thank you for the meal!

I went to Dotonbori in Osaka while attending a seminar. Feeling hungry, I saw the sign for Sushizanmai and decided to give it a try. I ordered a set of various sushi, including tuna, sea urchin, and shrimp rolls. When I tried the tuna, I immediately noticed how different it was from what I usually eat. It was incredibly delicious and surprised me. The eel roll also had a subtle but distinct flavor that made me realize what real eel tastes like. I was impressed by Sushizanmai. Despite feeling quite full, my friend and I each had one more piece of tuna (my friend even had some squid) before paying around 4000 yen for the meal. It may be more expensive compared to regular conveyor belt sushi, but I felt it was totally worth it and would love to go back again.

The French restaurant I went to that day wasn't very good, so I decided to end the night with sushi. I stumbled upon the familiar Sushizanmai and decided to give it a try after a long time. The restaurant was not crowded, so I was able to enjoy my meal at a relaxed pace. The sushi at this price point is great, and the fact that they're open late is a definite plus!

This New Year's first tuna auctioned for 1.932 billion yen at Tsukiji market was bought by the owner of the sushi chain "Sushizanmai." I had never been there before, but a friend's dance recital was in the same building, so we decided to have dinner at Sushizanmai on the first floor. It was my first time at Sushizanmai. I thought it was a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, but it's different! The entrance had a doll of the owner welcoming us. The interior was spacious like a market, with pictures of the owner and tuna lining the walls. It reminded me of a buffet at a hot spring hotel. We started with a beer and tried various dishes like fish tartare, grilled conger eel, marinated sea bream, sea urchin, shrimp, scallops, mackerel, and more. We ordered sushi one by one, and there were also izakaya-style dishes available. The sushi was average, not as delicious as expected. The atmosphere might have affected the taste. It's a bit pricey for the simple setting. Overall, it felt lacking in flavor. Perhaps with a more stylish interior, it could enhance the dining experience. It's more like a sushi izakaya than a traditional sushi restaurant. It might appeal more to inbound tourists. I think there are better options in Osaka for sushi. I'm glad I tried Sushizanmai once, but I prefer other sushi places in town.

For some reason, I tried Sushizanmai for the first time in Dotonbori. The restaurants serving flour-based dishes were extremely crowded. Being constrained by my flight time, this place was just right as I could eat quickly. As I was pondering over the menu, my companion said, "Sushizanmai is all about tuna, right?" That's right, I remembered. I decided to go with the lunch menu's tuna bowl. My companion added a colorful five-piece sushi set, so I couldn't resist and also added a negitoro roll. Everything arrived at once. The tuna bowl felt worth more than its price. The delicious lean tuna was satisfying. The negitoro roll had a different taste from the lean tuna. The soup was a comforting taste that allowed me to take a breather. I was satisfied. Thank you for the meal. While waiting for the bill, I looked at the standing sign and saw that the lunch tuna bowl was limited to 20 servings. I was lucky. Sushizanmai!

I won a pair of tickets to the "Buddhist Statues Exhibition" at the Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts as a reader's gift. I had already visited the exhibition two weeks ago, but decided to go again when my wife came to Osaka. On the second day of the 3-day weekend, we went to the museum in Tennoji. After viewing the exhibition, we had lunch at Sushizanmai in Dotonbori. It's open 24 hours, so you can easily enjoy sushi and other dishes anytime. We toasted with a lemon sour and a highball. We had tuna, eel, California roll, and deep-fried small shrimp... Sushi tastes so good after a long time.

Sushizanmai and Dotombori, Sushizanmai is definitely a pioneer that has changed the sushi industry. Whether it tastes good or bad is subjective, but it can be said that it is not bad. You can adjust the rice yourself, so it's not that bad. There are also delicious toppings. I approve of Sushizanmai, Sushiro, and Kura Sushi.

Other sushi restaurants are mostly closed at this time, but Sushizanmai is open 24 hours, so it was open. They even seared the shrimp heads for me. The green onions were delicious too. I like this, but many other places don't have it. I sat at the counter and the chef made the sushi right in front of me. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I felt like having some sushi in Minami, so I decided to visit Sushizanmai in Dotonbori. While there are many sushi restaurants in Tokyo, this is the only branch in Osaka. It is located in a building in the middle of Namba and Nipponbashi, with a sign that is easy to spot from the road. This time, I enjoyed 5 pieces of premium tuna nigiri for 1280 yen, as well as sardine, herring, mackerel, live conger eel, toro salmon, draft beer, highball, and appetizers. The selection of fish was great, especially the premium tuna nigiri which allowed me to enjoy tuna from different angles. The atmosphere was mostly foreign tourists, possibly due to being featured in guidebooks. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.
