In Osaka, near the Morikojiri entrance of the Hanshin Expressway, there is a shop that I happened to come across last month. I was a bit skeptical because the prices were so cheap – are they okay? But when I tried it, I was surprised by the generous portions and great taste, so this time I bought a variety of items with my friends. The various seafood bowls with different types of seafood toppings, salmon roe, marinated tuna, and sweet shrimp roe all caught our attention. And the fact that they were all priced at just one coin plus tax is amazing, right? Moreover, if you decline the chopsticks and soy sauce, you get a bonus of instant miso soup or clear soup – isn't that great service? I opted for the marinated tuna bowl. The wasabi paste here surprisingly packs a punch, so I removed some from the bowl and mixed about half with soy sauce. Although there were some tough parts in the tuna, considering the price, it was still quite delicious. And above all, the vinegared rice was well-prepared, so it seems like you can't go wrong with any of the bowls. Next time, I might try the squid and roe bowl?

I'm in Osaka. In the city, in the Joto Ward, there is a place called Sekime. If you head south down the street in front of the Morikojiramp entrance of the Hanshin Expressway, the second traffic light corner, you will find this shop. I happened to pass by the shop and was first surprised by the variety of menu items and the low prices! On the other hand, it was so cheap that I wondered if it was okay. So, I decided to try it out. When I entered the shop, the friendly staff quickly took my order, and I ordered a squid and salmon roe bowl. After waiting for about 4-5 minutes, the bowl was ready and handed to me. When I looked at the bowl, I was pleasantly surprised to see a good amount of salmon roe in the center of the bowl! I hadn't checked the menu thoroughly, so I was prepared for the bill to be around 800 or 900 yen, not just one coin! But the bill was indeed just one coin! I was still a bit skeptical about the quality, but when I returned to the office and tried it, I was amazed by how delicious it was! The squid was fresh, the salmon roe was tasty, and the vinegared rice was also delicious. The portion size was decent too. I thought I should try out other menu items as well. Maybe I should start with the tuna bowl?

I had the sea bream bowl (tax included 540 yen). Hmm, this is... After finishing it, I couldn't help but groan. The taste at this price is quite impressive. Seafood bowls rely on the quality of the ingredients, and the higher the price, the better it is, so there is no limit to how expensive they can get. But the cost performance of this bowl is quite something. The tuna tataki bowl at Sukiya (regular, tax included 580 yen) is also delicious enough considering the price, but the taste of this sea bream bowl is better. The toppings in the sea bream bowl were tuna red meat, negitoro, squid, salmon roe, and sea urchin. The quality of the sea urchin was not the best, and the salmon roe was small with a weak presence, but the red meat, negitoro, and squid were delicious. The rice was vinegared, cooked slightly firm to match the seafood. The temperature of the rice was just right, not too hot or too cold. This is something that only a seafood bowl specialty shop can achieve. Sukiya cannot imitate this. Also, the pickled ginger that came with it was a bit sweet, but surprisingly tasty. I visited shortly after the store opened at 11 am, and there were already customers before me, and more customers came in one after another after me. The popularity is incredible, thanks to the good cost performance. Normally, it seems to be mainly for takeout, but there is a very simple eat-in option, so I had it there this time. The tea was powdered tea, the type often found in conveyor belt sushi restaurants. You dissolve it in hot water in a transparent glass cup, but powdered tea is better enjoyed in a teacup. The color looks too bad in a glass cup, haha. Probably due to cost reasons, the sea urchin and salmon roe may not be of high quality, so choosing a menu without sea urchin and salmon roe might result in higher satisfaction. So next time, I would like to try the Chirashi bowl (tuna red meat, squid, salmon, konoshiro, negitoro, egg, simmered scallop, flying fish roe, oboro), Donmaru bowl (tuna red meat, squid, negitoro, salmon), clam and shirasu bowl, shrimp and crab bowl, green onion mackerel bowl, etc. I am also interested in the Neta Large portion (tax included 815 yen) where the toppings are 1.5 times more. Probably, being the ally of the common people refers to this kind of shop. [Note] I rated it 3.4 as an overall score, considering the cost performance. Please note that this is not a simple taste evaluation. If it were just about taste, I believe there are many more delicious seafood bowls available for around 950 yen.

It was simply delicious. There were many options to choose from, which made it hard to decide. In addition to seafood, there were also boiled conger eel and scallops.

One afternoon, I made my first order from Demae-can, on the 12th night of my secluded life due to certain circumstances. It was the last day of the free delivery promotion, so I decided to participate and ordered from a seafood rice bowl restaurant known for its affordability. I ordered the "Donmaru Bowl" for 880 yen, which is a popular dish with a reputation for its delicious negitoro, and the "Anago Zuked Engawa Bowl" for 880 yen, known for its sweet eel sauce and marinated tuna combination. I opted for the regular size for both dishes as it was my first time ordering and I wasn't sure about the portion size. The estimated delivery time was 2 and a half hours from the time of order, but I thought it wouldn't actually take that long. To my surprise, the delivery arrived right on time, 2 and a half hours later. I started with the "Donmaru Bowl," which consisted of tuna, squid, salmon, and negitoro. I added about half of the special soy sauce provided, and it was just the right amount of flavor. The squid was the only element that didn't quite hit the mark in terms of taste, but overall, it was a satisfying dish for 880 yen. Next, I tried the "Anago Zuked Engawa Bowl," which I ordered out of curiosity for the engawa (fluke fin) topping. The engawa had a low moisture content and a mild sweetness, with a taste reminiscent of scallops. Despite my initial uncertainty, I enjoyed the dish, especially the generous serving of wasabi. The total bill came to 1760 yen, including the free delivery promotion. While the bowls would have cost only 500 yen each if purchased at the restaurant, I didn't feel like I overpaid at 880 yen. However, if the delivery fee of 420 yen were added, the cost per bowl would be less appealing.

Nice to meet you! I tried ordering from Uber Eats for the first time. I got a bowl of ikura with uni and engawa toppings. The rice is sushi rice and the amount of toppings is just right. I'm trying to stay indoors more, so I might order again. I'd like to try eating at the restaurant too. (*^ω^*)

I got a takeout of ikura don topped with engawa. It's easy to eat with vinegar rice and just the right amount of volume. I'll definitely get takeout again when I want to eat seafood don.
