The Annex offers the same menu as the main building, and the quality is excellent. It's also nice that it's less crowded than the main building. The ambiance is truly impressive. The second floor is a lot of fun. The cocktails full of originality are really enjoyable. With such a variety, you can stay there for a long time. And the charm is delicious. Ke-ya is truly amazing.

As I entered through the entrance, I first saw a small inner courtyard, and further inside, I arrived at a certain door. The atmosphere was calm, and I could fully enjoy the traditional Japanese ambiance. I started by ordering a watermelon cocktail. The combination of salt on the rim, the sweetness of the watermelon, and the aroma of the alcohol was perfect for summer. The complimentary honey mascarpone was also of high quality. After a while, a group of customers arrived, and the staff made sure to accommodate them while still attending to the individual customers. Next, I ordered whiskey, which paired well with the rich alcohol and the ambiance. When I visited, it was just the right amount of crowded, but it seems like making a reservation would be a good idea on regular days. I definitely want to go back again. This time, after drinking at another place, I tried to enter without a reservation but was turned away (even though there were clearly empty seats). Unlike when I went to the main building, this time I was seated at a table, so I was able to take photos this time. I ordered a frozen yuzu cocktail, which I have been drinking a lot recently. For food, I ordered a platter of two types of cheese. The place has a good capacity, but it is clearly understaffed. With only one bartender and one server for 6 counter seats, 2 four-person tables, and additional seats on the second floor, it is quite challenging. The restaurant is beautiful and has a great atmosphere, so with the right amount of staff and improved hospitality, I think it could become a really great place.

Compared to the main branch, this location tends to be less crowded, making it more convenient to visit.

The interior of the bar is renovated from a traditional townhouse, making it a nice place to take tourists. There are private rooms in the back, including a room inside a warehouse, as well as tatami mat rooms, making it easy for large groups to visit. Compared to the main branch, the atmosphere here is quiet and perfect for a relaxed drink. While they don't have particularly rare drinks, the prices are reasonable considering the ambiance, making it a good value for money.

I visited after a long time. It's great that you're open until 2 o'clock even in these times. The cream cheese crackers that come out as a starter are still delicious, and when I came with friends from the countryside, they were happy to experience something very Kyoto-like. There are many wonderful bars in Kyoto. On this day, I visited Bar K's annex at night. It is a bar with a nice atmosphere featuring an old traditional house and a garden with lots of greenery. I visited in June when the business restrictions were lifted, but there were still no customers inside, probably due to the lingering effects of the pandemic. I enjoyed a mojito in this luxurious space. It had a generous amount of wild mint and was delicious, making me feel like it's summer. The mascarpone cheese and honey charm was also delicious. It was a relaxing experience.

After work, I went with my colleagues to this place. There were four of us and we were seated in a traditional Japanese tatami room. It felt more like a room in a ryokan (Japanese inn) than a bar, but it was very relaxing. The lighting was dim, giving it a bar-like atmosphere. The seasonal fruit cocktails were popular, and I tried the watermelon cocktail. It was vodka-based but the alcohol was mild, and it had a soft, watermelon juice-like taste. The cheese and sausage snacks were all delicious. It's not cheap, but it's a wonderful place that makes you feel like you're in a different world.

On a regular day, I suddenly came in and it was empty. I tried the "homemade Lemoncello tonic" and it was delicious. However, the bartender seemed to have other things to do and quickly disappeared. There was only one somewhat unreliable part-time worker. I believe that part of the charm of a bar is enjoying the next drink while talking about recommendations.
