That popular udon restaurant or udon izakaya seems to have started a yakiniku business! I had high expectations since I occasionally used to visit it. A friend made a reservation for us, and we were guided to a private room by the window. The atmosphere in this private room is fantastic! I had imagined it to be a casual yakiniku place, but being on the 7th floor with a view of the surrounding buildings, it seems perfect for a date or special occasion. There was also a counter area with a touch panel for ordering. The menu had photos which made ordering easy. We started with a light meal of Wagyu yukhoe, tail sashimi, and a mix of kimchi and namul. The quality of the meat was evident and delicious. The beef tongue skewer looked like a skewer of the actual tongue! It was seared and cut with scissors, and when wrapped in homemade green onion sauce, it was a winner. The thick-cut liver was incredibly fresh, seared and enjoyed with sesame oil and salt. It had a firm texture and surprisingly mild flavor. The recommended Wagyu meat assortment was memorable for its deliciousness. The quality was exceptional for the price. The "Flying Pig" thinly sliced pork loin was prepared shabu-shabu style by the manager and served with homemade green chili Tabasco and chopped green onions. The grilled vegetables were cooked on a large iron plate in front of the counter, adding a nice touch to the dining experience. The Hormone marinated in spicy miso and the recommended curry techan were flavorful additions to the meal. The rice was steamed just before serving, using Yatsushiro Yohime rice, allowing for a customizable texture. The meal ended with a variety of udon dishes, including a refreshing sudachi udon. The dessert was a complimentary Haagen-Dazs ice cream presented in a stylish attache case with dry ice for a dramatic effect. Overall, the dining experience was satisfying, and I confidently recommend it. Thank you for the delicious meal.

First visit. I came seeking the mythical tail sashimi. The exquisite taste that melts in your mouth is irresistible. Even though it's beef, I thought it had a somewhat similar taste to horse lean meat and mane when eaten together. The service was also excellent, so the beer and sashimi tasted delicious. I couldn't help but make a reservation for next month (lol). Of course, for the tail (lol). It's so close to home that I end up using it as if it were an izakaya. Finally, I chose the rare Pistachio and Cacao flavor for my favorite Häagen-Dazs. I was torn between that and Rum Raisin, but I went with the unusual Pistachio and Cacao. See you next month. Next time, I'll try the liver and yukhoe.

Yakiniku Chosuke in Yakuin. I arrived in Fukuoka late at night and visited this place that stays open late. The beef tongue was delicious, especially the domestic one. The owner was very kind and gave us various recommendations. Thank you for the great meal.

After work, we all went to the recently opened "Yakiniku Chosuke"! This place is a new concept from the udon izakaya "Nijukaya Chosuke" that we have visited many times before, so our expectations were high. Once you take the elevator to the 7th floor, the entire floor is the restaurant. You can order using a touch panel, which is easy to understand with photos.
We ordered:
- Assorted 5 kinds of beef yakiniku
- Tail sashimi
- Tan yukke (seasoned raw beef)
- Thick-cut liver
- Tan skewers
- Kimchi and namul assorted platter
- Yukkejan udon
- Grilled vegetable platter from Itoshima
- Red miso mixed hormones
- Curry teppanyaki
- Flying loin
- Special kettle-cooked rice
- Dessert
We also tried the restaurant manager's recommendation, the "Assorted 5 kinds of beef yakiniku". The meat was incredibly tender and delicious. The thick-cut liver, which was fresh until 11:00 that day, was surprisingly soft and had no unpleasant smell. The Tan skewers were offered at a special price of 600 yen per skewer, a great deal! The grilled vegetable platter was beautifully presented and made us want to eat more vegetables.
The colorful kimchi and namul had a nice spicy kick to them. The Red miso mixed hormones and curry teppanyaki went well with rice, which was made from the highest quality rice from Kyoto. We ended up ordering two more servings of rice because it was so delicious. For dessert, they even had Häagen-Dazs ice cream!
Overall, the restaurant had a casual and playful atmosphere with a touch of luxury. It's a place where you can enjoy a variety of dishes. I would definitely recommend Yakiniku Chosuke to anyone looking for a great yakiniku restaurant. Can't wait to go back again! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Representing Fukuoka's famous udon izakaya, Chosuke, a new yakiniku brand has opened and I went to check it out! Located about a 2-minute walk from Yakuin Odori and close to both Yakuin Yotsu and Rokkaku, the interior of the restaurant is centered around counter seats with three private rooms. We were seated at the largest seat near the entrance, making our dining experience extremely comfortable. It's great for entertaining clients or having business meetings. We visited during dusk, so the view of the sky from the large windows was beautiful. Being on the 7th floor, the scenery was impressive.
Here are the dishes we tried:
- "Phantom Tail" Sashimi - A rare sashimi dish made from tail meat, surprisingly easy to eat and delicious.
- Tongue Yukhoe (Korean-style raw beef) on a hot plate - Fresh and tasty, great as a palate cleanser.
- Assorted 5 types of grilled beef - Recommended by the manager, a perfect balance of fatty and lean meat.
- Tongue skewers - Skewered in a unique way, delicious when shared with everyone.
- "Flying" loin - Grilled by the manager, simply delicious.
- Spicy miso mixed hormone - Large cuts of hormone at a good price, perfect with garlic and Tabasco.
- Curry Techan (stir-fried curry) - A must-try at the end, devilishly delicious.
- Thick-cut liver - Freshly processed 12 hours before, large cuts and irresistible.
- Grilled vegetables from Itoshima - Cooked on a hot plate and served, a great side dish.
- Assorted 5 types of kimchi - Spicy and flavorful, the cucumber kimchi was a favorite.
- Special kettle-cooked rice - Made with top-quality rice, we ended up having seconds.
- Yukkejang udon and Sudachi-kake udon - Both were ordered for the finish, the Sudachi-kake udon was a winner.
- Lastly, we had Haagen-Dazs for dessert.
Overall, the dining experience was fantastic, and I recommend trying the special rice and Sudachi-kake udon. The restaurant is sure to become popular, so I suggest visiting early.

In Fukuoka's Chuo Ward, Yakuin is packed with high-end yakiniku restaurants like Bakuro Honten, Hanamitatail's Kenjo, Nikuichi filled with Korean customers, Yakiniku Kagura open until 4 am, and riverside charcoal grill Gen. Along with Sakuraya, Yannyon, Yoka Nikuyuen, Shichirin Yakiniku Baka to Aho, Ura Samejima Seinikuten, and Donkura, the yakiniku scene in Yakuin is truly bustling. Among them, Yakiniku Chosuke shines like a comet. Great meat sourcing, excellent cost performance, operating until 3 am, top-class customer service, and a cellar full of treasures ranging from authentic Burgundy wines to natural Japanese wines. Even if you don't eat yakiniku, their udon as a finishing touch is a must-try. And of course, Chosuke's smile is lovely. Oh no, I might end up becoming a heavy repeat customer. It's too good to have such a wonderful yakiniku restaurant in Yakuin. I was so happy that I forgot to take photos of the meat.

The yakiniku restaurant set up by Chosuke! To celebrate the opening, they offered Chateaubriand and beef tongue at cost price. The beef tongue was not particularly impressive, but being able to eat Chateaubriand at that price was delightful! The raw meat sashimi was from the tail, which was a first for me. It had a nice crunch and was delicious with the fat. The grilled vegetables made with vegetables from Itoshima were colorful and attractive, prepared by the staff. I wasn't a fan of the sauce, but the fact that they allow you to bring your own sauce shows their generosity. The hospitality at Chosuke's place was top-notch, the staff were very friendly, and it's great that they are open until late at night. I look forward to visiting Yakiniku Chosuke again after some time has passed for further improvements.
