This month, at the third restaurant I visited, I tried the "Madake" ramen at "Menya Yuko". This popular ramen shop in Kyoto is located in the Nana Star Alley inside Escon Field. After walking around the premises and the stadium, around 3pm, with only about 5 customers waiting in line, I decided to visit. I ordered the "Madake" ramen, which was recommended as having a nostalgic soy sauce flavor, without any toppings. The noodles were firm and medium-thick whole wheat noodles made in-house. The soup was full of savory flavor and delicious. The chashu had a moist texture like ham, and even though it was thin, it was substantial. I could feel the shop's dedication in this chashu. The single-stalk menma was soft and had no strong taste. I finished the soup completely. Overall, it was right up my alley and I was very satisfied!

After a match that was certainly not happy, the perfect ending is a bowl of clam soup with lots of low-temperature cooked chashu! The noodles are packed tightly straight! Let's leave the simmered egg untouched on purpose! The stadium gourmet has come this far! Even if we lose, we will head home feeling happy! So maybe that's why the Fighters can't get stronger...lol

I had Esucon ramen last time and ordered it again this time. I like the refreshing taste, the thickness and softness of the noodles, and the thin slices of char siu. Even though I planned to try a different ramen, I ended up ordering Esucon again. There are a few different ramen options at Esucon, so I will try the others next time! This time, I also ordered water dumplings. They were chewy and went well with beer. However, the sauce had a strange taste, so I may not order them again. The ramen was delicious, so no complaints there! Thank you for the meal.

It's 3:22 pm on September 10, 2023. This is Escon Field. Oh, hello, it's Kamen! The Fighters are losing 0-9 (ultimately losing 0-10). I can't bear to watch anymore. Maybe I'll go to Seven Stars Alley. Oh, the ramen shop is empty. Well then, I'll have the ramen produced by player Kiyomiya! Oh, sold out! I visited Esconfield for the first time. There are a lot of food and drink options, but I chose ramen. The ramen bowl is disposable, but it is decorated so nicely that it doesn't bother me. I was surprised by the taste. I had the impression that ramen eaten in a place like this would taste like cafeteria ramen, but it was authentic. The quality was amazing. The price is reasonable too, and if you share it with another person, it's the best value for money.

I was taken to Escon Field for the first time! Escon debut~! Before watching the game, let's eat something first. So, we decided to eat this ramen at "Menya Yuko". The curtain with a white background boldly says "Kyoto Kaodashi Shoyu Ramen", indicating that it is part of a ramen shop originating from Kyoto. However, I wonder why the "Menya Yuko Group" website does not list the "Escon Field Hokkaido Branch"? We visited at a time when it was still early for lunch, but the alley was crowded and it was difficult to secure seats! The most popular dish, "Hachiku", costs 1,100 yen and is a light ramen that brings out the umami of oysters, clams, and shijimi. For those who are not fond of the strong flavor of clam broth, they recommend the "Madake Natsukashi Shoyu" based on traditional Kyoto soy sauce or the "Kurochiku Rich Shoyu" which adds a fruity touch to the unique spiciness of soy sauce. Let's dig in! The large, thin slices of char siu, which seem to have been cooked at low temperature, are topped with three pieces. The beautiful pink color of the char siu is like a maiden's nipple, but when you eat it, the fat sticks to your mouth in an unpleasant way. I didn't like it. The menma is a type called "Hime Take" or "Ne Magari Take", which is a bamboo shoot. It lacks the softness of a bamboo shoot like Hoso Menma and the seasoning is not great... I prefer normal menma. The noodles are made with whole wheat flour, have a strong chewy texture, and are enjoyable to eat. And the soup? It's not as strong as "Kaodashi is amazing!" but you can definitely feel the flavor of the clam broth. That was the bowl of ramen. It was delicious. Maybe I had too high expectations.

The restaurant was extremely crowded before the game started, and the food was served in a flow. The use of disposable plastic bowls may be unavoidable due to the location, but personally, I felt like "well, I guess this is it." The taste was subjective, but overall, it felt like an event ramen experience.

In Esconfield, there is a dish called Kaki Dashi Shoyu Ramen ordered by Mr. Yuuko. Instead of a strong soy sauce aroma, it has a gentle scent and richness of kelp broth. The aftertaste has a unique bitterness or flavor of kelp. The whole wheat noodles are chewy and have a strong wheat aroma. The thinly sliced chashu on top is cooked at a low temperature, making it soft and melt-in-your-mouth. When soaked in the broth, it becomes firmer and meatier. It gets more delicious as you eat it, and it's not too salty, so you can finish the bowl of broth.

Enjoyed watching a baseball game at Escon Field where the Fighters won. After soaking in the victory, decided to avoid the crowds by heading to "Nanatsuboshi Yokocho". Managed to avoid the usual long lines at the shops, including a visit to "Menya Yuko" that I've been curious about. Passed on the "Sugimoto's Happiness Special" due to the large portion size and instead opted for the "Hachiku Clam Soy Sauce Ramen" for ¥1,100. The light clam broth was incredibly delicious, with a rich flavor that spread in the mouth without being too heavy. The noodles were firm and had a good texture, different from the usual yellow egg noodles, possibly made with whole wheat flour. It had been a while since I had ramen, but this one was really tasty. Perhaps the taste of victory was also included as a topping!

On August 4, 2023, at Escon Field, you can walk around the stadium during the game. I came across a shop that caught my eye while walking. It was hot, so I thought cold ramen would be good, but it was lukewarm. The taste of the limited-time ramen wasn't bad, but it wasn't cold enough. I'm not sure if expecting quality at a stadium is wrong, but I really wanted to drink ice-cold soup.

In the midst of an enthusiastic cheering battle at the semi-finals of the high school baseball Hokkaido tournament, I enjoyed Kyoto Yukari's clam broth soy sauce ramen. The firm noodles intertwined with the clam broth as the lively cheers echoed, and a home run by Hokkai High School added to the deliciousness of the meal.

I went to Esucon and tried out a ramen shop that I was curious about, which originated from Kyoto. I ordered the "Tancho Kaiodashi Shoyu" ramen (1100 yen), which is their most popular dish. It was light yet flavorful, with a strong taste of clam broth that was truly delicious. Even though I usually prefer rich flavors, I couldn't help but love this ramen. The low-temperature chashu was also tender and tasty. I definitely want to come back, but I'm torn between trying this dish again or exploring other flavors next time! I will definitely visit again.

Watching baseball at the new stadium Escon Field! A delicious meal and beer are essential companions for baseball games, right? So, I went on a journey to find some good food! I stumbled upon a very appetizing ramen shop! There was a bit of a line, but it was a quick turnover system, like a food court! I ordered their most popular dish, the Hachiku ramen! I took a bite, and it was delicious! The quality was so good that it didn't feel like I was eating at a stadium! I finished it in no time and although it may not be the same as eating in the restaurant, the quality at the stadium was very satisfying. This ramen shop was a great find!

I was curious about the ramen the person next to me was eating. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much, but it looked great ⭐︎ My companion added a seasoned egg as a nice touch. The soup was a bit cold, but still refreshing and delicious. The noodles were also tasty. The chashu was thinly sliced and light in flavor, which I like. Overall, it was a light and refreshing bowl of ramen with satisfying noodles and a soup that made me want to drink it all up. I never expected to find such ramen at this place. I didn't drink. It's still early. But I feel like having ramen as a closing dish. It's okay since I'll have it for dinner. It's okay since I'll walk back to the station. There's a bit of a line at Nanatsu Boshi Yokocho after the day game, but not too crowded to get in. I'll go for the "Kiyomiya Koutaro Special" for 1,380 yen, with a 100 yen discount for wearing the 20th uniform today. It's not something I would normally choose, but I'll go along with the 100 yen discount. Kiyomiya hit a home run after all. I paid first and got a number to pick up my order. The disposable bowl is greasy. I have to be careful not to drop or spill it. Oh, I didn't even think about finding a seat. Oh, it's okay, there are some available. So, here we go. The thinly sliced meat covers the noodles and soup. I lift it up. Steam. The soup is piping hot. Oops, burned my tongue accidentally. But I don't mind. Ah, it's a clam broth. Makes sense. The noodles are thin, just how I like them. The meat is cooked at a low temperature, so tender. The thin strips of bamboo are interesting. Crunchy. As I eat more, the broth becomes more flavorful. Finally, the egg. It's between soft-boiled and hard-boiled, leaning towards hard-boiled. The white is so bouncy. I wonder if it's prepared in a special way? It's more delicious than I expected, and I feel satisfied. By the way, I saw HANKACHI Prince walking around during the game break. His skin was so smooth.

Escon, which I visited on a day without a match for the first time. I had heard about it, but quite a few people have come, right? However, compared to days with matches, it seems relatively easy to use food and beverage outlets... So, I will try the ramen here that I have been curious about rather than the front row. I really wanted to try the clam broth, but when I looked at the menu, I found a special menu called "Sakura Miyata's Happiness Mix (1380 yen)", so I ordered that for myself, and the household CEO ordered "Clam Broth Soy Sauce - Asabuki (1100 yen)". After ordering, I lined up to receive and waited for the completion. In the kitchen, people who seemed to be high school students were placing ingredients in a flow... It's kind of heartwarming. When my number was called, I received the dish in a styrofoam container. Even though it is a container with good insulation, it is not hot at all... (Tears) I found an empty seat and sat down, and immediately started slurping. The "Sakura Miyata's Happiness Mix" has plenty of chashu! Although it is thin and flimsy chashu, with this many slices, it certainly has a satisfying taste! The boiled egg with Sakura's player number on it, which was half cut in the menu photo, was actually a whole egg! It was a bit difficult to eat (@@;) The lack of heat in the container when I received the dish... As expected, the soup is lukewarm. When it comes to ramen, the first bite should be "Hot..." while eating! It's a bit disappointing. And the noodles! They are quite thick, with a chewy texture that seems to stretch. Since it's my first time eating it, I don't know if this is how the noodles are supposed to be or if it's a mistake, but I feel like they're stretching because of the lukewarm soup. The soup has a unique umami taste of clams, which is nice! As the name of the restaurant suggests? It has a gentle flavor. I was surprised when I tried the soup of the "Clam Broth Soy Sauce - Asabuki" that the household CEO left behind. I thought that Sakura Miyata's Happiness Mix was just a difference in ingredients, but the clam broth soy sauce has a strong soy sauce flavor and tastes even better! Is the Happiness Mix salty? The addition of bamboo shoots is interesting!

At the Seven Star Lane on the third base side of Escon Field Hokkaido 2nd floor, there are famous shops from all over the country lined up. Among them, "Menya Yuko" is popular for its specialty Kyoto clam soup soy sauce ramen. So, I ordered the Escon Field limited edition "Sakutaro Kiyomiya player's happiness bowl for 1,380 yen" aiming for Instagrammable. It is based on Hachiku clam soup soy sauce for 1,100 yen, with Hachiku, large chashu, and a numbered egg. It's a famous ramen that is surprisingly delicious outdoors. The slightly fragrant clam soup and medium-thick whole grain noodles go really well together, quite delicious. Oolong tea for 380 yen, Sokenbicha for 380 yen, and draft beer (Ichiban Shibori) for 750 yen were delicious. Thank you for the meal. Thank you so much for reading until the end. On the third day of my Hokkaido trip, I went to watch a game at Escon Field again on Sunday, June 11, 2023. I visited because I heard that "Menya Yukou" from Kyoto was having a pop-up shop. I was interested but the line was long, so I had given up. However, in the middle of the game, I was able to join a line of about 15 people at a good time. I arrived at 2:23 pm and was the 16th in line. I placed my order at 2:31 pm and received it at 2:33 pm. I ordered the "MADAKE" ramen for 1,100 yen and a boiled egg for 150 yen, totaling 1,250 yen. I was drawn in by the nostalgic soy sauce flavor. The atmosphere was nice, even though it was a food court. It was a satisfying meal. #MenyaYukou #EsconFieldHokkaido
