This is my first visit to Yamafuku Shokudo in Hanakawa, Ishikari City, known for its soba, rice bowls, and curry. I love tempura and soba, so I ordered the Tempura and Soba Set (1,200 yen). The tempura in the tempura bowl looked moist, and the rice underneath was soft and soaked in sauce. It didn't taste like a typical tempura bowl, more like a "tempura porridge." Unfortunately, this was the worst tempura bowl I have ever had.

Even though I didn't do anything, I feel tired today. I decided to have lunch from the weekday menu and chose to eat hokke. I wasn't particularly excited about it, but... It tastes kind of bad. The lunch that was supposed to be enjoyable is starting to feel less enjoyable. I understand the importance of low-carb diet without putting too much strain on the body, but it just doesn't suit me. However, the deadline is approaching, so I'll give it one last try. It's a combination of a guesthouse and a store, so it doesn't really matter... The interior of the store was clean, and there were three people, including a man, a woman, and an older lady, working there. The fish set meal (shimahokke) without rice for 950 yen: half a grilled shimahokke with boiled spinach, cold tofu, and miso soup. The price is the same for other set meals like pork cutlet set meal and grilled meat set meal. The shimahokke had a slightly strong salty taste, but it was delicious with its fatty texture. Next time, I want to try the delicious-looking nabeyaki udon that the person sitting across from me was enjoying. Thank you for the meal. Carbohydrate progress: No time! But I'm an optimistic old man thinking, "It'll work out somehow!" (*^◯^*)

On a certain weekday, I visited a soba restaurant located in Hanakawa Higashi 1-jo, Ishikari City, as part of my "long time no see" series. When I arrived, it wasn't too crowded, which was a relief for me. I decided to try the lively "Shichimi Soba (800 yen)" from the menu, thinking I might come back for it again. Taking a bite... The soba noodles were gray in color, slightly thicker and had a chewy texture. The dipping sauce was a bit on the sweeter side compared to average ones, and the broth had a relatively mild saltiness. The toppings included raw quail egg, grated yam, tempura crumbs, green onions, natto, fish cake, and chopped seaweed, making it quite a hearty dish. Lastly, I finished with a small cup of clear soba broth. Overall, I enjoyed a revitalizing bowl of soba that seemed to give me energy. Thank you for the meal.

I revisited this place after encountering a temporary closure during my previous visit. I ordered the ramen (soy sauce) for 600 yen and the mini pork cutlet curry for 550 yen, both of which had increased by 50 yen since my last visit. They were served simultaneously. The ramen came with one slice of chashu, wakame seaweed, menma, naruto fish cake, and a half-boiled egg. It had a nostalgic Showa era vibe. The thick menma had a nice texture. The chashu was a bit thin. The soy sauce broth was strong in flavor but lacked depth. The noodles were medium-thin and slightly curly, cooked on the softer side. It felt more nostalgic than delicious. The mini pork cutlet curry came with three thick pieces of pork cutlet, which were surprisingly tasty. The curry sauce was rich and spicy but lacked any additional ingredients. Both dishes were served lukewarm, and I felt they would have been better if served hot. I rated the ramen (soy sauce) 3.3 and the mini pork cutlet curry 3.6 out of 5.0.

In this area, I found a restaurant with ample parking space next to a guesthouse. The interior is non-smoking with a cafeteria-like design featuring tables and a raised seating area. The background music playing was from a daytime variety show on TV. I decided to order the "Mini Katsu Curry & Cold Soba Set (750 yen)" from the menu, which looked tempting with a sign advertising it. The curry was flavorful with a mild spiciness, and the katsu was tender and thick. The soba noodles were soft and chewy, served with a well-balanced dipping sauce that had a hint of soy sauce, sweetness, and dashi flavor. Overall, the meal was satisfying and comforting. The service was attentive, and I enjoyed the quiet yet welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant.

This is a restaurant located in Hanakawa Higashi, Ishikari City. It is easily visible from the main street, past the ramen shop "Kichirin" and towards Hanakawa on the right side. It is next to Yamato Transport and has a large parking lot in front of the shop. I had some business in Barato, Kita Ward, Sapporo. Instead of my usual route back to Otaru from Ishikari Shinko along Ishikari Shinminato, I decided to go through Hanakawa today. I found this restaurant on my way back. They had a sign for soba noodles waving outside. Although I wanted to try the soba noodles, I was feeling cold so I opted for the soy sauce ramen. The soup had a good umami flavor, not turning bitter towards the end. It was slightly sweet and had a rich taste. The noodles were medium-thick, straight, and slightly chewy white noodles. The combination of soup and noodles was good. The ramen cost 550 yen and was delicious. This restaurant also seems to serve as a guesthouse. With a wide range of menu options, it would be convenient for guests staying overnight. I look forward to trying their top menu item, soba noodles, next time. I have high expectations for a soba restaurant that serves delicious ramen. Thank you for the meal.
