テオテオ♪
I first tried Tomato Cheese Tamago at Namba a long time ago, and since then I've recognized that there are delicious okonomiyaki restaurants all over the place, including various locations of Tanuki-Tei. The Tanuki-Tei in Yonchome here seems relatively new, having opened in June this year. It used to be a fast food restaurant before, according to my knowledgeable friend. Anyway, it's hot outside so I want to drink and enjoy myself. I started with a refreshing Kirin Ichiban Shibori draft beer in a mega-sized glass for ¥930, a great deal with free refills. For okonomiyaki and yakisoba, beer is a must! The Original Pork Kimchi for ¥810 is a popular choice and is served relatively quickly. It's a great accompaniment to beer. The Haikara Yaki Soba for ¥1,180 has beef tendon, konjac, and leeks in it. In my hometown (Hyogo Prefecture), we call this "bokkake," but here it's called Haikara. If it were udon, it would have fried tempura bits in it, right? The noodles are chewy and slightly thick, and the sauce is delicious. This is a flavor I want to savor forever. The Tomato Cheese Tamago for ¥1,070 is what I came for. It's a nostalgic dish that has been a signature item at Tanuki-Tei for a long time. When I first tried it, I was impressed. The large slices of fresh tomatoes are the highlight, and it's especially light and delicious in the summer. I wanted to try more dishes, but I didn't have much time, so I quickly finished up and forgot about the other restaurant I wanted to visit. It was so delicious - I'll definitely come back.
