If you suddenly feel like eating yakiniku in Fukuoka late at night, don't hesitate to come here! You can walk there from Tenjin, Nakasu, or Hakata if you're willing to make the effort! This place opened in November 2019 and has been featured on the local Fukuoka RKB TV (TBS affiliate). It's tucked away in the back of a building down a narrow alley, giving it a hidden gem vibe, and the cozy interior with only 4 counter seats and 2 booth seats makes it very comfortable! The staff, a friendly guy, seems to be handling everything on his own, so let's cut him some slack!
For food, they offer a variety of dishes using Kyushu-produced black wagyu beef, including tongue, kalbi, yakiniku, and steak! I visited alone, and since the place was quiet, they were okay with me ordering everything in half sizes! So considerate!! I ordered what caught my eye a la carte! First, a highball for 400 yen, but they put in less ice and filled the glass to the brim, which was awesome!!
Here are the meats (prices are for half sizes):
- "Secret Meat" for 145 yen: It's a mystery cut, and they won't tell you what it is! It has a texture similar to heart, refreshing and flavorful with a hint of blood taste. This is such a steal!!
- "Yakiniku" for 700 yen: Quite fatty but with a smoky flavor, delicious! If you're not a fan of fatty meat, you might want to skip this!
- "Upper Tongue" for 900 yen: Addictive seasoning with a hint of garlic! Even better when sprinkled with salt!
- "Tsurami" for 340 yen: A gingery flavor that's very enjoyable! Thinly sliced for easy snacking, tasty! This might have been my favorite!
- "Roast" for 540 yen: Thick cuts in block form. Personally, I prefer it a bit thinner for this meat quality. The flavor is a bit light.
- "Spicy Miso Hormone" Not spicy at all! The miso sauce is rich and delicious! The fat content is high! Overall, the meat quality may not be top-notch, but the seasoning and cost performance were great! The hospitality was also excellent, and I want to go back with friends next time!
