★Hakodate Food Adventure, 4th stop!! End of Day 1! Food hopping at the 4th restaurant! There are not many Genghis Khan (grilled lamb) restaurants in Hakodate, as expected they are more in Sapporo or Asahikawa. Still, I really wanted to try it, so I headed to this restaurant! It's located in a food and drink district where you can find famous Hokkaido dishes. Considering it was the end of the day and I was already full from visiting three other places, the food was incredibly delicious. I couldn't stop ordering even though I wasn't that hungry (laughs). They have sweet and spicy sauces, and I chose the sweet sauce at an 8:2 ratio. The rice went down smoothly and the meat was sweet, with a slight hint of gaminess compared to what you would find in Tokyo. It wasn't a bad smell, more like intentionally left in for flavor, enhancing the taste. Highly recommend the lamb loin! Truly Hokkaido quality! The Genghis Khan was definitely delicious! I indulged in it just as much as the seafood in Hakodate! The only downside was that most of the drinks were light and didn't quite match the meat. They also offer all-you-can-eat options, so the value for money is great! Note: The hotel I stayed at was right next to this food and drink district, with the historic Red Brick Warehouse nearby. I could easily access everything within a 1 km radius from the hotel! Next up is the hotel food at the 5th stop!

I entered the restaurant after making a reservation in advance to secure a seat. I ordered the single item menu of raw lamb loin, lamb rump, and mutton. As expected, the lamb here is the best! I also had three servings of vegetables. I ordered a few dishes, but personally, I prefer a mix of 70% loin and 30% rump for endless eating. Next time, I will order 3 raw lamb loins, 1 raw lamb rump, and 1 classic. That's the perfect choice!

I wanted to eat Genghis Khan, so I made a reservation and came. While all-you-can-eat is good, my stomach wasn't suitable for it, so I opted for individual orders. I started with vegetables such as bean sprouts, which were free. I later found out that refills were possible. I ordered a platter with lamb loin, pork, and beef. The thick lamb loin had a unique lamb flavor, but it wasn't off-putting. The thinly sliced pork loin and seasoned lamb were very popular and delicious. The mushroom platter also absorbed the meat juices and was tasty. When combined with rice, I was full. I was happy to savor delicious raw lamb!

I requested the all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink option. At first, all types of meat are served, but I think it would have been better to skip and just choose lamb loin. The lamb loin has a stronger sheep flavor compared to the lamb rump. I thought the lamb loin could have been sliced a bit thinner to make it even more delicious, but maybe they cut it thick because it cooks quickly and they don't make much profit if it's sliced thin and ordered frequently. The pork, on the other hand, is thinly sliced... The meat itself is delicious, but it's all about the way it's cut. Also, I wish they would let you choose the vegetables. The vegetable platter is overwhelmingly filled with bean sprouts, but when it comes to Genghis Khan, I really want to eat a lot of onions.

When I first went to Hakodate, I didn't have any gourmet information yet, so I decided to go to a popular Genghis Khan (Mongolian barbecue) restaurant, "Meimeitei". Since then, whenever I visit Hakodate, I always go there to eat Genghis Khan, even though there are many other Genghis Khan restaurants in the city. I'd like to try exploring other places if I stay for more than one night, but for now, I stick to this one. It's a popular restaurant, so I made a reservation and went. Despite it being a weekday at 5:30 pm, there were many customers inside. The all-you-can-eat menu with great cost performance seems to be popular, but since I enjoy trying different foods, I passed on that and ordered a la carte. The seating has a time limit of 80 minutes. I ordered the popular lamb loin and the lamb roll at the bottom of the menu. The lamb loin was thick but tender, with good meat quality and delicious without any unpleasant smell. Personally, I recommend the lamb roll. I've always liked lamb rolls, so I always end up ordering them. The grilled vegetables that go well with beer are free for refills, so I had some more. I'll definitely come back to Yangyangtei when I visit Hakodate again for the reliably delicious food. Thank you for the meal.

I made a reservation for a Monday lunch in July. I could choose between 12:00 and 13:00, so I chose 13:00. I didn't have a reservation the night before, and when I arrived, they were full, so I made a reservation, but since it was a weekday, there were plenty of empty seats. I couldn't decide whether to just order meat or go for the lunch set, but the lunch set came with two types of meat, unlimited vegetable refills, and a complimentary drink, so I decided on the lunch set. It seemed like a good deal for 1800 yen. Soon, the food arrived. The staff adjusts the heat for you, but they don't explain how to cook the meat. I coated the pot with lamb fat and placed it on top. I arranged the vegetables around the pot, and then placed all the slices of loin and lamp meat (3 each) in the pot. Then, they were flipped over. I wasn't sure how well the meat should be cooked. At a previous restaurant, they said lamb was fine even if it was slightly pink, but this restaurant said to cook it thoroughly. I think this restaurant follows the latter, so I made sure to cook it well this time. Even when cooked thoroughly, the meat was tender and juicy. It had a unique lamb aroma, but it was easily overcome by the two types of sauce provided. The salt-based sauce was made of salt, lemon, and pepper, while the soy sauce-based sauce was made of soy sauce and vinegar. I think the heat might have been a bit too high. I refilled on vegetables and finished my meal. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I visited the restaurant on a weekday evening just before 6 pm and was able to enter without waiting in line. As soon as I entered, I was asked, "Is it okay if you stay until 7 pm?" Even though I knew from the internet that the all-you-can-eat option was for one hour, it seemed like the overall time limit inside the restaurant was about 1 hour + a little extra. I didn't plan on staying for a long time, but I felt a bit rushed and quickly looked through the menu. I decided to order the following items: - Raw lamb loin (130g) 1300 yen - Raw lamb rump (150g) 1300 yen - Seasoned lamb loin (180g) 1000 yen - Lamb sirloin (200g) 1000 yen - Lamb sausage 700 yen - Mushroom set 600 yen - Rice (medium) 240 yen x 2 First, a large amount of free vegetables (bean sprouts, onions, bell peppers, and carrots) were brought to the table. I was surprised because there was no explanation beforehand. I remember having a similar experience at another Genghis Khan restaurant a long time ago. I wish they had explained it to me. The other dishes I ordered were brought out quickly, possibly due to the one-hour time limit. I followed the instructions on how to cook them, and they were all delicious. The lamb meat was not smelly at all and very tasty. In the end, I was very full with this amount of food, and I ended up spending less than I would have on the all-you-can-eat option. I was satisfied. I think the one-hour time limit is to increase the turnover of the restaurant, which is good, but it would be nice to have additional explanations like "the dishes will come out quickly." Also, my clothes and bag ended up smelling like Genghis Khan afterwards. It would be nice to have bags to put jackets and bags in to avoid the smell.

It was lunchtime, but instead of ordering from the lunch menu, I enjoyed various lamb dishes a la carte. The loin and rump were thickly sliced and marinated well. Despite their thickness, they were surprisingly tender, without any toughness or gaminess. The fresh lamb from Hokkaido was truly delicious.

I visited for lunch. There was no lunch menu on Sundays, but they offered all-you-can-eat option, although I didn't feel like eating that much so I ordered a la carte - raw lamb, Yakan pork belly with rice, and oolong tea. The vegetables seemed to be all-you-can-eat, so I had a second helping. I really liked the sauce. The raw lamb didn't have a strong taste and was delicious. The pork belly was cooked well and tasted great with the vegetables. Two plates of meat, rice, and a drink cost around 3000 yen, which I think is not very cost-effective. It may be because it's a tourist area, but it's understandable.

In Hakodate, if you want to have Genghis Khan (grilled lamb dish), this is the place to go for lunch on weekdays! Normally they offer all-you-can-eat, but during weekday lunches, they have a reasonable set menu. The price seems to go up every time I visit, but I always go for the raw lamb Genghis Khan lunch. It's now 1800 yen! Quite a price increase, but you get plenty of thick slices of raw lamb meat. It also comes with salad, rice, soup, and a choice of one drink, which can be a glass of beer. It's great to grill Genghis Khan with a beer in hand during lunchtime. The meat is very tender and delicious. The restaurant is divided into two sections, with Genghis Khan on the left and soup curry on the right. When you enter, they will ask you which side you prefer. I always go for Genghis Khan! The atmosphere is welcoming and easy for solo diners.

On a Saturday night around 8pm, we were able to get a seat at the counter without a reservation and without any wait time. The price was quite good for all-you-can-eat. The raw lamb loin had a satisfying texture and a strong lamb flavor, highly recommended. The pork was also delicious.

Popular dishes ordered: NO1 (Thick-cut lamb), NO2 (Thick-cut lamb), NO3 (Assorted lamb, beef, and pork). The thick-cut lamb meat was incredibly tender and delicious. The sauce was also excellent, enhancing the flavors of the vegetables and other meats. The service was average, as was the atmosphere. Cost-wise, it was a bit expensive at 15,000 yen for four people, but the quality of the meat made it worth it. We also enjoyed a large beer, which paired perfectly with the lamb meat. Overall, we were satisfied with the high-quality meat and would recommend this restaurant, especially for those looking to try authentic lamb dishes.

On March 15, 2023, Wednesday, I visited The Windsor Hotel Toya in Hokkaido for approximately 17 hours as part of a Club Tourism domestic tour. I explored the city of Hakodate, walked through the red brick warehouses, took the Hakodate Ropeway to enjoy the night view, and then dined at the Genghis Khan sheep restaurant, Yang Yang Tei, at the Hakodate Bay Gourmet Club. For dinner that day, we had free time. We visited Yang Yang Tei at 7:00 pm, but were told it would be a one-hour wait. So, we left our phone number and returned to the hotel. Perhaps we should have made a reservation when we visited the red brick warehouses before going to the Ropeway. However, when we returned to the hotel, we bought a lettuce salad at Seven-Eleven and finished eating it in the hotel. Around 7:40 pm, we received a call from Yang Yang Tei saying that a table was available, so we went back to the restaurant. At 7:50 pm, we ordered the specialty raw lamb loin meat for ¥1,300 and the specialty raw lamb rump meat and mushroom set for ¥600 for two people, so the payment per person was ¥1,600. The tender and delicious lamb meat paired well with the salt sauce. The soy sauce sauce was perfect for the vegetables and mushrooms, and it was delicious. The lamb meat came with free bean sprouts, bell peppers, and carrots, and it was great that we could have seconds.

I couldn't make a reservation in January. It was good that they were able to procure the meat. Without a reservation, there are times when you can't get in, or you have to wait until 8 o'clock. When it comes to Hakodate, you can't miss the Genghis Khan at Yoyo-tei! I ordered the 60-minute all-you-can-eat Genghis Khan with all-you-can-drink alcohol for 5000 yen. First, put on the apron and wait for the food. Of course, the sauce is a must! I got some garlic and made the sauce. The meat arrives! First, spread the fat all over the pot. White steam rises. Delicious, delicious, feeling good. I start by putting on the marinated Genghis Khan, Yayoi pork, pork loin, lamb rack, and lamb loin. Cheers with a cold beer! Cheers for your hard work! I'm tired from driving during the day... Grilled and dipped in garlic sauce, then into the rice, and into the mouth! Delicious! Wash it down with beer, so good! Next up is the raw lamb loin. The thickness of the meat seems to increase each time??? It's 2cm thick, but it's amazing! Dip it in the sauce, into the rice, into the mouth! My jaw gets tired in the second half. (laughs) But it's delicious! You must try it. (laughs) Full sprint until the end of the 60 minutes! (laughs) Thank you for the feast, delicious! Thank you for the meat. No doubt the stomach is full! (laughs)

I visited on a Saturday night. I had made a reservation over the phone in advance, so I was smoothly guided to my table. I tried the raw lamb loin and raw lamb chop, and I was amazed by the thickness and size of the meat, which I had never seen before. The texture was satisfying to chew. The loin was relatively light, while the chop had a more lamb-like smell, but both were delicious.

I didn't have high expectations because it was all-you-can-eat, but the meat was tender and delicious. I personally prefer seasoned Genghis Khan, so I don't feel the need to go back, but my husband, who likes unseasoned meat, really enjoyed it.

I fell in love with the delicious raw lamb in Hokkaido's Genghis Khan. The sheep restaurant in Hakodate, called "Hitsujitsune," offers all-you-can-eat raw lamb which is really tasty! The time limit is short at 60 minutes, but considering the cost performance, it's understandable that it's all-you-can-eat. The quality of the meat is so good that you wouldn't think it's all-you-can-eat, so reservations are a must.

If you go to Hokkaido, you definitely have to try Genghis Khan at least once. It's located along the main street near the market in Hakodate, making it a convenient place to stop by. Genghis Khan is a high-protein, low-cholesterol meal that won't make you gain weight. It's perfect for athletes.

I was introduced to this restaurant by the staff at my accommodation and decided to make a reservation. During my stay in Hakodate, I had been enjoying seafood for brunch, so I decided to finish off my last night with Genghis Khan (grilled lamb). I ordered the standard all-you-can-eat option, and the meat was just the right thickness. I liked that I could keep adding more of my favorite meat after trying a variety of flavors. I particularly enjoyed the seasoned lamb loin and went back for seconds a few times. The restaurant was very smoky, as soon as I walked in, my vision was completely white. I enjoyed the Genghis Khan to the fullest until the time limit, and left satisfied.
