There is a shop near the Kamimachi intersection along National Route 210. When you think of karaage in Yoshii Town, "Oita karaage" comes to mind, but this time, I visited this shop. It is a takeout specialty store, and it seems that many people purchase by phone reservation. I ordered 200g of boneless karaage. It costs 210 yen including tax per 100g. About 3 pieces seem to be the standard. The karaage is juicy and large. The soy sauce-based dipping sauce has a nice aroma. It stimulates the appetite. The taste is refreshing, and surprisingly, it doesn't feel greasy. They also have croquettes, hormone, and a variety of menu items. Thank you for the meal!

Sauna buddies mentioned that there is a place in Ukiha City that serves horse hormone grilled, and they grill it fresh for each order. It's about a 1-hour drive from Yoshii Town in Fukuoka Prefecture, where the streets are lined with quiet white-walled buildings. I went to a small takeout shop that specializes in fried chicken. When I asked for horse hormone grilled, they told me they only had beef hormone. So, I ordered two packs of beef hormone grilled for 500 yen each. While waiting, I found out they also had frozen horse stew meat, so I bought a pack for 600 yen. I brought one pack to a neighbor who had recently been discharged from the hospital, and planned to enjoy the other pack with some canned beer at home. The beef hormone was too tough and hard to enjoy, even though it had a good flavor. On the other hand, the horse stew meat was tender and flavorful, perfect for pairing with the beer. I regretted not getting more of the horse stew meat, as it was much more enjoyable. I later shared this experience with my sauna buddies, who were puzzled by my choice. Overall, I would rate the horse stew meat above 3.6 out of 5.
