The other day, I participated in a JR Kyushu Walking event that started and ended at Karita Station. During the final stretch of the course, I decided to stop by "Karaage Sho-chan," a restaurant run by a former salaryman who loves fried chicken and decided to open his own shop last year. The walking map for this event mentioned that participants could receive a free piece of fried chicken by spending over 500 yen at "Karaage Sho-chan." Since the walking route had quite a few uphill and downhill sections, I was feeling quite tired and thought it would be a good idea to refuel here. So, my 6th-grade daughter and I entered the restaurant. Although the main option was for takeout, there was also seating available for dining in, so we decided to eat there. After placing our order, we were served boneless thigh meat fried chicken in soy sauce flavor (100g for 280 yen, the photo shows 200g with a bonus). Just as mentioned on the walking map, they gave us a little extra for ordering 200g. As a reward for our hard work in walking, I ordered a beer and my daughter ordered a cola for a toast. When we tried the fried chicken, we found that the crispy coating had a nice soy sauce flavor, and the meat was juicy and tender. The texture was just right, with a satisfying chewiness. After a while, we were served the boneless thigh meat fried chicken in salt flavor that we had also ordered (100g for 280 yen). The coating was crispy, the salt level was just right, and most importantly, the chicken was served piping hot since it was fried after we placed our order. As expected, freshly fried chicken is the most delicious. Although the area along the Toyomoto Line is known for its many fried chicken shops due to its proximity to the fried chicken capital, Nakatsu, the fried chicken at "Sho-chan" really stood out for its deliciousness and the passion of the owner who loves fried chicken!

On this day, I decided to visit "Karaage Shochan," a fried chicken restaurant.
◇Exterior and Interior
This fried chicken restaurant is located near JR Karita Station in Karita-cho, Kyoto-gun, Fukuoka Prefecture. It seems to have opened last year (2021), and the name of the restaurant has a local feel to it, which is very fitting for Karita. The exterior is quite common, and the interior has a general atmosphere, making it a comfortable place to visit.
◇Seating
I used takeout on this day, so I will skip this section.
◇Menu
Various types of fried chicken are available, as well as bento boxes. I ordered the following:
- Chicken thigh (100g for 270 yen) → Tax included. You can specify the number of pieces. You can choose between soy sauce flavor and salt flavor, and this time I chose soy sauce. I didn't have high expectations, but when I saw them frying the chicken, I thought, "That looks delicious." The taste is a clear soy sauce flavor, with a good punch. The juiciness inside and the texture of the coating were just right, not too thin or too thick, making it a delicious fried chicken that I haven't had in a while. It goes well with white rice, but it's also great with alcohol. This made me realize that I should have also tried the salt flavor.
◆Strong Points

◆Summary
I'm happy to have a new fried chicken restaurant within my reach. Following the rule of having at least 4 pieces, I had 5 pieces today! I recommend this fried chicken. Thank you for the meal! ^ ^
