I visited on Friday night. There were two other customers. It's rare to see a female bartender. The place has a cozy atmosphere. I ordered a gin and tonic. I had one, while my companion had two. The total came to over 6,000 yen. It's a bit pricey...

Today I was in the mood for cocktails. Be careful not to drink too much as they are easy to drink. They have a wide variety of fruit cocktails, and I recommend the kinkan tonic. I started to feel a nice buzz, but finished off with a straight whiskey. The drinks were delicious. I will definitely come back again.

The name of the bar, Skye, in America-mura, is derived from Skye Island in Scotland, as the owner is a fan of Talisker. The owner, who is a female bartender, provides attentive service that is unique to women. The story of Talisker and the Isle of Skye dates back to 1827 when the MacAskill brothers, Hugh and Kenneth, who were originally from the nearby Isle of Eigg, arrived on Skye Island. They initially worked transporting sheep on the island, but later decided to start producing whisky using the barley grown in the area. They established the Talisker Distillery in Carbost, along the coast of Loch Harport. The name Talisker is said to be inspired by the Talisker House where the brothers stayed during the construction of the distillery, and it is believed to have a meaning in Old Norse ("Thalas Gair" - leaning rock).

The third stop of the day was my recent favorite, BAR Skye. Inside the bar, there were two young men sitting alone and a couple who seemed to be elderly. I sat in the middle of them. The master seemed to remember me and smiled as if saying "Oh!" I ordered the Talisker 10-year-old, which I had tried before. I slowly sipped on the Talisker while browsing through my food log and my own notes to search for the fourth stop. At the end of the counter, the elderly couple from earlier were having an animated conversation with the master about Scotch. They must really love Scotch. Since my Talisker was finished, I decided to have another drink. I was indecisive about what to order, but I ended up choosing the Harper, which I used to order at snack bars and bars four times a week in the old days. I opted for the 12-year-old one, a good one. I like the mildness and sweetness of Harper's taste. I am amazed that such a good drink can be made from corn. Now that the fourth stop is decided, it's time to move on. Thank you for the meal.

This day is the long-awaited reservation day for Wasyoushuhihide (Japanese and Western liquor and appetizers) (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) After finally confirming the reservation on January 2nd, it was decided to be on this day♬ However, the time was a bit late, starting from 8:30 pm, so I will have a quick drink around Amerikamura (America Village) before heading there(^^) The bar called "Sky" is located on the path of Hachiman-suji heading west from Midosuji. By the way, the name of the store "Sky" is not "sky" as in the sky, but it is the name of an island in Scotland called "Skye". The store's specialty seems to be Talisker, a Scotch whisky from the Isle of Skye. Upon entering the store, there was only one regular customer, so I took a seat in the middle. For the first drink, I went with the reliable Zakayama Highball (laughs) which came out with a charm. For the second drink, I thought about trying the recommended Talisker, but there are different ages of Talisker, and honestly, I didn't know which one to choose(^_^;) So I honestly asked the master if I could have a recommendation since I don't know much about Scotch. He kindly agreed(*´∇`*) And what he brought out was Glenfiddich, which is said to be the most consumed whisky in the world. He suggested that I try this and compare it with the 10-year-old Talisker! Glenfiddich had a light taste with no particular uniqueness, making it very easy to drink, as it is said to be the most consumed single malt whisky in the world. On the other hand, the 10-year-old Talisker had a strong uniqueness with a smoky smell when you take a sip. The sharp attack on the throat could be divisive, but I might actually like this drink╰(*´︶`*)╯♡ Then, I talked about various impressions and preferences of the drinks with the master. Suddenly, the master handed me a book and opened the pages about the Glenfiddich and Talisker that I had received. I was impressed that he always had such a book at hand and truly loved Scotch! In fact, he visits Scotland himself a few times a year, I was told⁉️ While reading the book, I realized that the time for Hide's reservation was approachingΣ( ̄。 ̄ノ)ノ I wanted to stay longer at this place, but there was no choice(>_<) I will make sure to come back and learn more about Scotch from the master next time. I have discovered a really good restaurant♡ I am looking forward to visiting it next time(^ー^) Thank you for the meal m(_牛_)m

Osaka City, America-mura in Shinsaibashi. This area, also known as Ame-mura, is popular among young students. When I was a student, I used to come here often. In Ame-mura, there is a bar located on the first floor of a building a little west of the Omitsu Hachimangu Shrine. I finished my work in Osaka early on this day, so after a late lunch, I arrived at the bar right at its opening time of 3 pm. I thought there wouldn't be any customers at this time, but after me, three people entered one after another. The bar is run by a slim and stylish female bartender. I ordered an Irish coffee, a hot cocktail that is recommended for cold winters. It was slightly sweet and very delicious. For my second drink, I had a bourbon. They had just received a new shipment of Maker's Mark Cask Strength. It had a richer flavor compared to regular Maker's Mark, with a pleasant chocolate aroma and a hint of sweetness that lingered in the nose. There are few bars in this area where you can have a drink in the early afternoon, so this place is quite valuable. If I'm in the area, I would definitely like to stop by for a little break. Thank you for the meal.

Located on the first floor of a building in the America-mura area near Shinsaibashi, this bar offers a peaceful escape from the bustling surroundings. As you step inside the building, you are enveloped in tranquility, shielded from the noise outside. The interior consists only of counter seats, with a decent number available. The lighting is soft and gentle, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout the bar. The owner, Master Ota, is a woman who previously worked at a bar in Tennoji. She is actually a disciple of Master Fujii from Bar Fidic in Nara. The name "Skye" comes from a Scottish island, the birthplace of Scotch whisky, and indeed, the bar offers an impressive selection of Scotch whisky. The counter is lined with bottles, showcasing their collection. They also excel in crafting cocktails, with fresh fruits on display and expertly made Singapore Slings. Opening at 3pm, this bar is a rare find for those looking for a quiet spot in the lively Minami area. It exudes a welcoming and calming atmosphere, making it a great place to unwind.

America-mura, 3 PM. If you walk towards the back of a mixed-use building near Sambowl where young people are strolling, you will find a tranquil counter. This is a rare adult bar in Nishi-Shinsaibashi with a surprising setting. It used to be a long-established bar called Ueno, but due to the master's health, it was passed on to the current owner, Ms. Ota. The interior is mainly inherited, giving off a solid yet warm atmosphere, perhaps due to years of operation. As you can imagine from the name, this bar focuses on Scotch, particularly Talisker from the Isle of Skye. While they may not have any old bottles, they have a well-curated lineup of current rare bottles. Opening every day from 3 PM is also noteworthy, as many bars in America-mura are skeptical of daytime operations. Escaping the bustling crowds of America-mura and enjoying a mojito while the sun is still high is a treat! Osaka bars are still hesitant about daytime operations, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to try a drink made by Ms. Ota. The mojito season is coming to an end soon, but when it gets a bit colder, the Irish coffee will be perfect.

Right in the heart of America-mura. Next door is the famous Somurie-Tei known for its delicious wine and plenty of puns. When you open the door at the back of the building, a bartender in a crisp white shirt and tie will greet you. Despite the name of the bar, they offer not only whiskies from Sky Island but also bourbons, rums, and other drinks. With delicate femininity, they skillfully craft unique whiskies with distinctive aromas into exquisite cocktails. They open from early afternoon, making it a convenient spot for a break after lunch.

A shelter-like shop in the heart of America-mura, where you can escape the hustle and bustle. The heavy door may seem intimidating to open for the first time. Luckily, when I visited for the first time, the door was open due to the nice weather, so I could easily enter. Once inside, I didn't feel a high threshold at all. The female master, Ota-san, warmly welcomed me and engaged in conversation easily. When it comes to Scotch, she brings out books and explains enthusiastically. I have visited from time to time and received various recommendations. However, when I asked for recommendations, she jokingly said, "You need to come every week, otherwise you won't be able to try them all," putting a bit of pressure on me. It's a great place to relax.

This is an Authentic Bar located in Shinsaibashi. It is a bar run by a master bartender in a building about a 5-minute walk from the station. As you follow the map through the bustling area, you'll find the shop name on a building, but the shop itself isn't visible from the street. You'll have to walk towards the back of the building where you'll see barrels and a blackboard menu sign, leading to a stylish door. Inside, you'll find a surprisingly spacious area with a black L-shaped counter extending towards the back. The counter has 15 seats with ample space between them and a wide depth, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The chairs are simple wooden ones with a brass footrest and armrest bar, making it very comfortable. The interior is modern with dark wood tones and ivory walls, and the back bar has a unique tree-shaped design. The bar offers a good selection of malts and a bright atmosphere, making it welcoming to female customers. The prices are reasonable, and the master bartender's friendly service adds to the experience. It's a great place to relax and enjoy a drink in a calm and peaceful setting.

Ota-san's warm hospitality makes you feel at ease at this authentic bar. Whether you're unsure of what to drink, a beginner at bars, or a Scotch expert, everyone is welcome here. The bar has a wide range of drinks to cater to all types of customers. It opens early in the day, so it's perfect for a quick drink before heading home or for a leisurely drink after a meal. Prices are reasonable if you don't order rare items. I recommend the Talisker from the Isle of Skye, but they also have a good selection of other single malts, bourbons, and Japanese whiskies.

I went with a friend's girl to the bar. It had been a long time since I went to a bar, but I completely forgot about time in the calm atmosphere of the place and ended up staying longer than planned. The cocktails were all made with real fruits, so they were very delicious and easy to drink. The kiwi cocktail was sweet and delicious, and the kumquat cocktail was served with a spoon so we could eat the kumquat, which was a nice touch and made it taste even better. They even served pickles as a service, which made me think "pickles with cocktails??", but it was surprisingly delicious... it was totally fine (laughs). When we arrived, there was only one female staff member, but she had a really nice vibe. I definitely want to go back again.

On holidays, America-mura is dominated by teenage girls, and a new sophisticated and relaxing bar has opened in this lively area. The owner, a woman who has trained at various establishments, has finally achieved her dream of opening her own bar. Atmosphere: 4 stars. The location, just northeast of Shinsaibashi San Bowl, was a bit hard to find as it is tucked away in a building on the 1st floor. The interior has a luxurious atmosphere with lighting that matches well, although the back area feels a bit cramped. There are only seats at the "L"-shaped counter, with about 10 seats on the long side and 5 on the short side, totaling about 15 seats. Service: 4 stars. The owner is very knowledgeable about spirits, especially whisky, and shows a willingness to understand the customer's preferences rather than pushing their knowledge. Drinks: 4 stars. While the bar is not solely focused on Talisker, the owner has a special affection for the brand and offers about 10 varieties. The selection includes Japanese and Scotch whiskies, with a good range of bourbons at casual prices. A recommended drink is the Talisker Bottled 9 Year, which has a mature taste that belies its age. The Talisker 25 and 30 are also worth trying if you have the budget, with the 30 offering a subtle balance and the 25 having a hint of cosmetic-like fragrance. Overall: 4 stars. The bar's sophisticated atmosphere, attentive service from a female bartender, and hidden gem vibe make it a great choice for a relaxing drink.

I have been close with Masako Ota-chan for a long time. Congratulations on opening your dream shop. The shop, named after Skey Island, will surely satisfy malt fans. It is a lovely shop with thoughtful touches for women. It is conveniently located in Amerikamura and easy to drop by. What's great is that it opens from 3 pm for lunch. The prices are reasonable too. It's not embarrassing to ask about the prices at a bar, it's actually recommended. By doing so, you'll know what special drinks you can enjoy on special occasions. And how delicious they are when you drink them on those special occasions. It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Having only your favorite drinks in a shop is nice, but it doesn't guarantee good reviews. When I visit next time, please recommend other items as well. Thank you in advance.

The place is located on the first floor of a building along Hachimancho Street in Nishi-Shinsaibashi. It is tucked away in the back, so you wouldn't notice it unless you pay attention to the street sign. The bar inside has an authentic design with only a counter. The bartender welcomed us and the name of the bar is Talisker, named after a Scotch whisky from the Isle of Skye in Scotland. The whisky is known for its spicy aroma and rugged Scotch flavor. Today, we started with a Talisker highball, which has a strong peaty flavor that may not be for everyone, but is irresistible for those who love it. I felt like watching the bartender shake a cocktail, so I ordered a Gimlet, my favorite drink. It was slightly sweet and well-balanced. Since we still had time, I ordered another drink, XYZ, which was refreshing and easy to drink. This bar was a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the area. I would definitely come back if I have the chance.

Bars were once referred to as "hideouts" or "speakeasies." Essentially, they were hard to get into, but once inside, it was easy to get drunk. This particular establishment has a "hideout" entrance, but once inside, delicious drinks await, making it a "speakeasy." Although "speakeasy" also implies ordering alcohol discreetly... If you lack the courage to open the door to this place, read this review. This place is a "speakeasy" with tasty drinks and a friendly atmosphere waiting for you. Gin fizz, gin and tonic included, total bill is 2400 yen. Please come and enjoy.
